To Captain, Passengers,
and Crew, of S. S. Sagona:-

Your kindly words of appreciation have completely taken me by surprise. The
trip on the S. S. Sagona, has been a memorable one. Although much sickness
has prevailed amongst us, the kindly spirit shown by the Captain, Officers
and Passengers, has made my work on this ship, a labor of love. Through the
kind providence of God, no lives have been lost...................
....thank you for your kind words , and for the very tangible proof of your
appreciation of my humble services by the presentation of the purse.
