Column abbreviations:
HSE=house owned (O) or rented (R)
AMT=value of house or amount paid in rent
RMS=number of rooms occupied by family
RAD=does this family have a radio?
REL=relationship to Head
G=gender
STA=marital status
AGE=age at last birthday
W/R= can this person read and write?
W=can write
R=can read
No=can neither read nor write
M/S=months at school since Sept 1, 1934
OCC=occupation
IND=industry
C/W=class of worker
T/E=total earnings since June 1, 1934
(sic) - May appear to be incorrect but it is the way the enumerator wrote it on the original page.

Note that for the column "class of worker" the legend is completely unreadable
on the microfilm although I have found out that "W" refers to a wage or salary worker

Where writing in the original is difficult to decipher, the word will be placed
in brackets followed by a question mark to indicate that that's what it looks like

All persons as well as their parents were born in Newfoundland

All families were Roman Catholic with the exception of the first one listed
- that of John and Julia Benoitt and children. They were Church of England

Note that all persons are recorded as being of British nationality

Abbreviations: S=Single, M=Married, W=Widow, Wid=Widowed, ?=Unreadable.

Where writing is hard to decipher but partly readable, the word is in brackets with a question mark indicating that that's what it looks like.
