Puddester Brothers

Northern Bay
The Four Puddester Brothers
c1940

This is a rare photograph to capture them in uniform together.
Left to Right: Fred, Sandy, Tom, Felix

A first for Newfoundland was when the four Puddester Brothers joined
the Royal Navy, and sailed with the first 200, November 27,1940.
It was the first and only time during the Second World war that
four brothers sailed in the same contigent. They served on the
HMS Worcestshire when she was torpedoed and they all
survived. Fred passed away in the United Kingdom.
Tom passed away this year, 1988
