WEBBER’S BIGHT, in Twillingate district; nearest post town, Fortune Harbor.

WEST BAY (PORT AU PORT), a post settlement in St. George district, near Stephenville Crossing.

 

WEST BROOK, a station on Bishop’s Falls section Reid Nfld. railway, 11 miles from Millerton Junction; has express.

 

WEST BURGEO, a fishing settlement in Burgeo and LaPoile district; all connections at Burgeo, 2 miles.

Pop. 1,100.

 

WESTERN COVE (WHITE BAY), a post and money order office in St. Barbe district; contains 1 store, postal telegraph, mail steamer fortnightly. Pop. 160.

 

WESTERN COVE, Barren Island, in Placentia Bay and St. Mary’s district; nearest post town, Placentia Bay.

 

WESTERN HEAD HARBOR, a fishing settlement in Twillingate district; all connections at or the same as Twillingate or Moreton’s Harbor, 2 miles. Pop. 30.

WHALE’S BROOK, South side Trinity Bay, a small fishing settlement in Trinity district; nearest post office, Lance Cove, 1 mile; other connections, Old Perlican; contains 1 school.

 

WHALES GULCH (NEW WORLD ISLAND), a fishing settlement in Twillingate district; all connections at or the same as Twillingate. Pop. 40.

 

WHITBOURNE, a post and money order office in Trinity district, a station 55 miles from St. John’s; contains customs, postal and Anglo-American telegraph office, 2 stores, 3 churches, Church of England, Methodist and Catholic. Pop. 800.

 

WHITE BEAR BAY, a small fishing settlement in Burgeo and LaPoile district; all connections at or the same as Burgeo; very few inhabitants in summer, but in winter, families move in from harbors on the coast. There are large quantities of pine lumber here, and it is the home of the deer. Pop. 30.

 

WHITE BEAR ISLANDS, on Labrador Coast, is a port of call.
