3. Richard Born: Sept 23, 1852 in English Harbour Died: Jan 15, 1941 in Shoal Harbour. Married: Emily Born: Nov 11, 1859

4. Joseph Born: Oct 26,1852 in English Harbour. Married: Eleanor B. Strowbridge Born: May 11, 1860

(Note: Since Richard and Joseph are both listed as being born in 1852, one of these dates must be wrong. Richards info was taken from his head stone in Shoal Harbour. I'm not sure where I found the info on Joseph but I think it was from a Census on English Harbour.)

Both of these settlements are on the eastern end of Random Island in the district of Trinity North. I am looking for an Isaac Eastman. Description :I have been researching the EAVIS family of Ramea for two years. I have called all the EAVIS still remaining in the Atlantic Provinces and have determined that they are all related. Description: This is not a specific inquiry, but rather some information that may help other researchers.
In researching my "Elliott" ancestors, I contacted a distant cousin in Newfoundland who had the family Bible. She sent me the dates and names of all of the Elliott family. In confirming the dates to the parish records, I discovered that the name "Elliott" in my line of the family had originally been Hollett which according to Seary was corrupted from Hallett.
During my visit to Newfoundland, I was introduced to various family members as Ether Holiver (Heather Oliver). I realized that a minister recording names phonetically would have recorded Hallett as Allett and the double "L" was eventually given the French accent so that the name became "Allyet". This theory was confirmed when I learned that my husband's great grandmother, Martha Elliott, married Joseph Curtis under the name of Martha Hollett. The names in the Bible have now all been confirmed to Martha's mother and father, Sarah and William, under the names Elliot, Elliott, Hallett, Hallet, Hollett and Hollet.
Hopefully this will help anyone researching any variation of these names.

Description:Looking for any information on the Elliott family of Little Bay Islands. My great grandfather, John Elliott, was born there on May 21/1870. John married Mary Pynn, and they had a number of children; Arthur, Hubert(my grandfather), Archibald and Pearce. John was the illegitimate son of Jessie Elizabeth Elliott. My father thinks she was a domestic with one of the families there, got pregnant and went to Twillingate, where she was originally from, to have the baby. Her parents were John and Dorcas Elliott.. She was baptised in the Methodist church in Twillingate on September 10, 1854.Also, in the 1921 Census for Little Bay Islands, John's family is listed there along with his mother, Elizabeth SMART. Does anyone know anything about the Smart connection? Looking for any information on who little John's father might have been, and what happened to Archibald. I have no information on what happened to him.
