Description:I am trying to trace my grandmother's background. Her name was Geniveve Vine. She married a John Patrick Kelly when ? and he was a cooper and also on the St John's City counsil for many years. I believe her father was a Sea Captain. He may have been Job Vine listed in the 1894 census of St John's who resided at 23 Gower St and was a Master Mariner. I have also been told that his grave is at the Forest Road graveyard in St John's I cannot seem to find any trace for her or her family. Any help at all or ideas on where to look would be appreciated.

Description: I am researching my husband's family tree. I have been able to trace the line back to William James (or James) Vivian (b. 24 Dec 1902, d. 26 Mar 1973)of Northwest Brook. He is listed with his family in the 1921 Census, along with his brother John Vivian (b. Aug 1900) and sister Elizabeth Vivian (b. Mar 1906). Their mother is also listed as Julia Hiscock, with her husband William, I have been able to confirm that she remarried a Hiscock through family. I would really like to find out William James Vivian's birth father's name. As of 1921 John Vivian was married to Alice Unknown, and they had one daughter named Jane Myria (b. Dec 1920). Julia and William Hiscock are also listed and have a daughter named Effie P Hiscock who was born in 1916.

Description : I am building files of Voisey/Voyzey/Voysey. It appears that many Voiseys were miners and it is not surprising to hear about Voisey's Bay. Many Voiseys trace their family history to Devonshire England. I am one who believes we may have a French Huguenot background but I have not proved my suspicions. I do not know of any ancestry in Labrador or Newfoundland, but I would like to hear from any of you related to these names to continue my research. It may be that I can help you add to your own family history knowledge. I believe i helped link a Sarnia Ontario family with a family in Wales. I am not an expert however. My family roots under this surname take me to Windsor Ontario, St Thomas Ontario, Northwich Chester, Mary Tavy, Devon, Millom Cumbria and Butte Montana The last three are mining areas.
