MERCER, Edward -
Passed away on April 1, 2011 in Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center, surrounded by his loving family, Edward Mercer of Gander in his 77th year. Left to mourn with loving and happy memories his wife of 55 years Nell, sons, Ted (Judy), Jim, Dave (Cathy), Ken (Yvonne), daughter Sandy (Dale), step-daughter, Beth (Greg); grandchildren; Shane (Sarah),Janelle, Chelsea, Adam, Ryan, Alicia, Ian, Derrick (Mandy), Karyn (Trent), Nadine (Steve) and special new addition Nicholas, as well as a large circle of family and friends.
"Remember him with a smile today,
He was not one for tears,
Reflect instead on memories,
Of all the happy years.
Recall to mind the way he spoke,
And all the things he said,
His strength, his stance, the way he walked,
Remember these instead.
The good advise he'd give us,
His eyes that shone with laughter,
So much of him will never die,
but live on ever after."

Resting at Stacey's Funeral Home in Gander with service on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 2 PM, at St Martin's Anglican Cathedral, Gander. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lung Association.

Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Health Center, Gander on April 10th 2011, James E. Candow Sr. Predeceased by his parents, Jack and Eliza, brothers, Donald and Gordon. Left with loving memories are his wife, Cherry (Nee Lush), sons, James (Grace) of Halifax, NS., Roger (Violet) of Hay River, NWT., Brian (Laura) of Gander, daughters Paula (Alex) Thomas of Nanaimo, BC, Lori (Blair) Wilkie of Paradise, step brothers Lawrence Dawe of Fredericton, NB., Art (Daphne) Dawe of Kelligrews, Harold Dawe of AB, stepsisters, Gladys (Winston) Bussey of ON, Mildred (Bill) Greenslade, Heather (Gerald) George of Conception Bay South, Helen Bentley of ON, grandchildren Megan (Tony) Newton of BC., Michael Thomas, Ian (Catherine) Candow, of Gander, John Candow of NS, Bethany Candow of Gander, Peter and Andrew Wilkie of Paradise, step grandchildren Greg, Merissa and Adrienne, great-grandchildren, Bennett, Cole and Leon. BUFFETT, John B. -
Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Center on April 14, 2011, John B. Buffett age 76 years. Predeceased by parents Benjamin and Mary, brothers Harry and Robert, sisters Liz and Charlotte. Left with loving memories are his wife Lillian, sons Harold (Linda) of Glenwood, Darren (Diane) of Fort McMurray, daughters Gloria (Llew), Judy (Eugene), Sharon (Kirk) of Glenwood, brothers Jim and Maxwell. Grandchildren Glen, Dean, Crystal, Paula, Megan, Jonathan, Matthew, Chris, Justin, grandchildren Aidan and Jaxon. Also a large circle of relatives and friends. Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Health Center, Gander, on April 20, 2011, Donald "Claude" Lilly in his 82nd year. He is predeceased by his parents, Paul and Annie Lilly, sister Marion Hoyles and sister-in-law Audrey Lilly, brothers-in-law Reg Hoover, Herb Manuel and John Erskine. Left with fond memories are his brothers, Harvey (Louise Budgell) Halifax, NS; Neil (Kate Butt) Windsor, ON; Cliff (Netta Boyde) Little Burnt Bay, NL; sisters Telsie Hoover of Springfield, Missouri; Mabel Manuel of St. John's. NL; and Rita Erskine of Dartmouth, NS. Also a large number of nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander. Passed peacefully away at Lakeside Home, Gander on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, Jessie Campbell Buchanan Snow, age 87. Predeceased by husband Eldred, daughters Heather and Carole. Passed peacefully away at Brookfield Hospital, Brookfield on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, James Everett Stagg age 84 of Cape Freels. Predeceased by his parents; Joseph and Gertrude Stagg, brothers; Oswald and Guy Stagg, sisters; Cassie Blackmore, Clara Gibbons, brothers-in-law; Cyril Blackmore, Pearce Gibbons, sister-in-law; Violet Stagg. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife; Edna, son; Joseph (Sandra) of Cape Freels, daughter; Louise (Lacie Stokes) of Cape Freels, brothers; Edgar (Leon) of Cape Freels, Cyril (Matilda) of Lumsden, sisters; Amy (Ross Gibbons) of Lumsden, Melina (Nathan Humphries) of Badger's Quay, 4 grandsons; Andrew, Adam, Jeremy, Jimmy-Lee (Sarah) and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Passed peacefully away at Edmonton Hospital on April 24, 2011 age 55. Predeceased by parents, Thomas and Maryann Mullins, brother, Ambrose. Leaving to mourn with loving memories her husband Eugene, daughter Tanya (Tom), granddaughters Clarissa and Deanna, sisters Sarah (Roland) of Greenspond, Gertruth (Tom) of Virgina, Martha (Edwin) of Pool's Island, Winnifred (Rocky) of St. John's, brothers Thomas (Brenda) of Toronto, William (Shirley) of St. John's, Liewellyn (Toni) of Ajax and a large circle of relative and friends.

Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Health Center on Wednesday April 27, 2011, Mary Hollohan, age 91 years. Predeceased by her husband Stephen - 1991. Left with loving memories are sister, Ellen (Mark) Kelly , brother, Gerald (Mary Elizabeth) Dooley , sister-in-law, Anne Hollohan - all of Gander. born Twillingate August 11th 1933, passed away peacefully at his home in Gander, Friday April 29th 2011 at the age of 77. Bernard (Bernie) is predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Hilda Anstey, brother, Leslie and sister Elizabeth (Betty). Left with fond and loving memories, his wife Isabel, sons, Bernard Jr., David (Sonya) , Stephen (Kelleah) and Neil, daughters, June, Anne (Brian), Susan (Larry). Eleven grandchildren, Matthew, Ashley, Susan, Doug, Ian, Justin, Sarah, Kurtis, Julie, Jennifer and Lee-Ann, sisters, Rowena and Mildred. Also a large circle of extended family and friends.
