KEAN, Marie Elizabeth
Passed peacefully away on December 1, 2001 at her home in St. Brendan's, Marie Elizabeth Kean, age 79 years. Predeceased by her husband Dennis in 1978. Left to mourn her family; Dennis (Pat), Herb (Kelly), Paul (Janice), Elizabeth, Glenn (Deanna), Mike (Bride), Dale (Andrea); 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren,; and brother Patrick (Margaret). A Christian burial took place on December 4th at St. Gabriel's Church, St. Brendan's. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Oram's Funeral Home.

HUNT, Samuel
Passed peacefully away on December 2, 2001 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Samuel Hunt of Indian Bay, age 84 years. Predeceased by his parents, Caroline and John Hunt; sisters, Minnie Hounsell, Bertha Hunt, Millie Feltham, Mary Pickett; brothers George Hunt, Edwin Hunt; son Jesse Hunt; son-in-law, Percy Bungay; grandson Brian Hunt and granddaughter, Paula Cook. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Mary Jane; seven sons, John (Geraldine), Jessie (Susie), Wilfred (Irene), Peter (Pauline), Clyde, all of Indian Bay, Tony (Chloe) of Wareham Terry of Indian Bay; five daughters, Eunice (John Cook) of Indian Bay, Clara Bungay of Wareham, Ruby (Richard Parsons), Doris, Wanda (Kenneth Pickett), all of Indian Bay, one brother, Arthur Hunt of Indian Bay; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on December 5th at St. Mary's Anglican Church with Rev. Russell Osmond officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Indian Bay. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove.

MOULAND, Jean
Passed peacefully away on December 6, 2001 at Brookfield Hospital, Mrs. Jean Mouland of Musgrave Harbour in her 84th year. Predeceased by her husband Gordon, son Don, brother Dolph Chaulk and grandson Chad. Left with fond and loving memories are her three sons, Raymond (Stella) of Musgrave Harbour, Kenneth (Jean) of Musgrave Harbour, and Watson (Eileen) of Musgrave Harbour; seven grandchildren Anne, Sandra, Carol, Watson, Lisa, Lawrence and Clay; five great-grandchildren; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on December 8th at the Salvation Army Citadel in Musgrave Harbour. Interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Musgrave Harbour. Donations in her memory may be made to the Salvation Army Cemetery Fund in Musgrave Harbour. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Musgrave Harbour-Wesleyville.

TAYLOR, Burnis (Brad)
Passed suddenly away on December 6, 2001, Brad Taylor, age 69. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Sylvia (of 46 years); mother-in-law Dorothy Pritchett; one daughter Anita Collins (Leo); three sons, Burnis (Cindy), Darryl (Trudy) and David (Kathleen); nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Ruth Lake and Carol McChere (residing in USA); also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on December 8th at St. George's Anglican Church, Gambo, with Rev. Oldford officiating. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Pritchett's Funeral Home, Gambo.

FLYNN, Gordon
Passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes, Gander, Gordon Flynn of Ladle Cove, age 83. Predeceased by his wife, Charlotte in 1988. Left with fond and loving memories are daughters, Helen (Roy), Marion (George) and Mary; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doris (Ron) West and Jean (Lyle) Lodge. Funeral service was held on December 7th at St. Stephen United church, Ladle Cove with Rev. Bungay officiating. Interment followed at Ladle Cove Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, Lewisporte.

WINSOR, Betty (nee Critch)
Passed peacefully away on December 7, 2001 at her residence in Wesleyville, Betty Winsor (originally from Hants Harbour), age 63. Predeceased by parents Frederick and Jesse Critch; brother, Wilfred Critch; sister-in-law Velma Critch and father-in-law Wilbur Winsor. Left with fond and loving memories are husband Job; sons, Roger (Gisele) of Messines, Quebec, Bruce (Sylvie) of Ottawa and Jerry (Michelle) of Labrador City; daughters, Joanne Winsor (Hardy Boone) of Cottrell's Cove and Carla Winsor-Rivas (Arnulfo Rivas) of Pecos, Texas; brother Boyd Critch (Glenys) of Paradise,; sister Jean Ellis (John) of St. John's; 11 grandchildren; mother-in-law Beatrice Sheppard (Harry) of Labrador City and Frances Thibodeau (Jack) of Chilliwack, BC; brother-in-law Fraser Winsor (Vera) of Wesleyville; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place on December 10th at Jubilee United Church, Wesleyville with Rev. Sungmin Jung officiating, assisted by Capt. Terry Hopkins. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Wesleyville. Donations may be made to the Wesleyville United Church Cemetery Fund or the Wesleyville Salvation Army Building Fund. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kittiwake Funeral Home, Wesleyville-Musgrave Harbour.

HALL, Albert Gordon
Passed peacefully away on December 12, 2001 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Albert Gordon Hall (retired school teacher) of Eastport, formerly of Newtown, Bonavista Bay, age 92 years. Predeceased by wife Pearl in 1997, sister Anastasia and brother Harry. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are two daughters, Ruth and son-in-law Claude Tulk of Lewisporte, Shirley and son-in-law Ted Skanes of Brampton, ON; sister Hettie Willis of St. John's; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a very special caregiver Joan Turner; special friends Marion Turner and Burt Bull; plus many other friends and relatives. Funeral services was held December 15 at Holy Cross Anglican Church, Eastport. Interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery, Eastport. Rested at Squire's Funeral Home, Eastport.

ENDICOTT (Norman)
Taken into the care of God on December 16, 2001, Hannah Roxena Theresa, 5 years, and Benjamin Robert Anthony, 1½ years, precious children of Suzanne and Gary, and deeply loved by brother Thomas. Grieving with Suzanne and Gary and Thomas, are grandparents Theresa and William Endicott and Roxena and Eric Norman, Aunt Janice and Uncle Johnson (Tam), Uncle Tony and Aunt Ann Marie (Norman), Aunt Dawn and Uncle Bruce (Payne), Uncle Bob (Norman), and special cousins Hedley and Sherry (Caines). Mourning with the family are very many loving relatives and friends. Funeral service was held by Rev. Lawrence Cheung at St. George's Anglican Church in Vancouver on December 27. Burial will be in Newfoundland at a later date.

MOORES, Edward G.
Passed peacefully away on December 17, 2001 at Bonnews Lodge, Edward G. Moores of Badger's Quay, age 78 years. Predeceased by his parents Alexander and Ruth; son Raymond, brothers Roderick, Randolph, Jessie, sisters-in-law Marion and Mabel. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Barbara, residing at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay, two sons, Eric of Badger's Quay, Kevin (Debbie) of Flowers Cove, sister Stella Moores of Badger's Quay; three grandchildren, Raymond, Amanda and Jeremy; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on December 20th at the Anglican Church, Badger's Quay with Rev. John Watton officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Badger's Quay. Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove.

KENNEDY, Marion
Passed peacefully away on December 18, 2001 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Marion Kennedy of Gander, age 63. Left with fond and loving memories are husband Maurice; son Craig of St. John's; daughter Cynthia (Wilbert) Penney of Gander; brothers Pierce Gillard (Willie) of Toronto, John Gillard (Amy) of Twillingate, Gordon Gillard (Irene) of Twillingate, Raymond Gillard (Cleo) of Springdale, Douglas Gillard (Rita) of Toronto; sister Mabel Gillard of Gander; two special grandchildren Lance and Gabrielle; also a large circle of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral service was held December 21st at Fraser Road United Church. Interment at All Saints Cemetery. Donations can be made made to the Newfoundland Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation. Arrangements entrusted through Stacey's Funeral Home, Carmanville/Gander

MILLEY, Everett Jordon
Passed away on December 20, 2001 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Everett Jordon Milley, age 91 years. Predeceased by wife Rita (Bishop) in 1972; sisters, Beatrice Hunter and Elsie Bailey; and brother Samuel. Left with loving memories are son Robert (Joan) of Luduc, AB; daughter Maureen (Lawson) Dickson of St. John's; brothers Thomas (Constance) of Western Bay, George (Verna) of Oakville, ON; grandchildren Christa, Matthew and Shawn Milley, Andrew and Karen Dickson. Funeral service was held on December 22nd, at St. Martin's Pro Cathedral. Interment at Civilian Section of the Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery on the Trans Canada Highway. Donations can be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children or ALD Society (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Arrangements entrusted through Stacey's Funeral Home, Carmanville/Gander.

WHALEN, Minnie Irene
Passed peacefully away at Brookfield Hospital on December 21, 2001, Minnie Irene Whalen of Cape Freels, age 64 years. Predeceased by her parents, Wilfred and Beatrice Whalen; brother-in-law, Herbert Spurrell; grandparents, Eva and Joseph Goodyear, Edgar and Lucy Whalen. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sisters, Effie Spurrell of Valleyfiled and Loretta Stagg (Henry) of Cape Freels; five nephews, two nieces, eleven great-nephews, four great-nieces, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove December 24th with Rev. M. Bowlby officiating. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Lumsden. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove.

CROCKER, Ida Julia Almira (Saunders)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ida Julia Almira Crocker (Saunders) of Burnside, age 69. She died on December 23, 2001 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by parents Abner John and Ethel Saunders, formerly of Flat Island, Bonavista Bay; sister Ivy; and four other siblings in infancy. Left to mourn are husband Alonzo; son Ronald; sister Iris (Lionel) Cheater of Burnside; brothers, Edward (Lucy) of Sandringham and Thomas (Pearl) of Nova Scotia; also several special nieces and nephews; as well as in-laws and friends. Funeral service was held on December 26th at St. Alban's Anglican Church, Burnside with Rev. Paul Thomas officiating. Interment at St. Alban's Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Squires Funeral Home, Eastport.
My mind is stayed on thee and I rest in thy peace and power.

MELINDY, Chesley
Passed away suddenly on December 24, 2001 at Brookfield Hospital, Chesley Melindy of Lumsden, age 51 years. Predeceased by his father, Charles. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Beulah (nee Downton); mother, Edith of Lumsden; daughters, Angie (John Hann) of Musgrave Harbour and Ashley of Lumsden; grandson, Lucas of Musgrave Harbour; brothers, Art (Bernice) of Gander, Cars (Janice) of Lumsden, Lorne (Sandra) of Gander, and Craig (Trudy) of Lumsden; sisters, Marg Quigley of St. John's, Blanche ( Rick Clarke) of Mount Pearl, Wan (Gar Sheppard) of Lumsden, Lin (Bren Wheeler) of Greenspond; a large number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, crew members of The Charles and Sons, and many other family and friends. Funeral service was held on December 27th at Wesley United Church, Lumsden with Rev. M. Bowlby officiating. Interment followed at the United Cemetery, Lumsden. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove.
