LANNING, Margaret -
Passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes, Gander on Friday, December 10, 2010 Margaret Lanning, age 74. Predeceased by her daughter, Brenda Dyke, parents, Levi and Isabelle Ball, brother, Harold Ball, sister, Mildred Fevens. Left to mourn with loving memories are her husband, Melvin, son, Derek (Nicole) of Gander, daughter, Debbie (Shawn) Cull of Moncton, NB; sisters, Florence Dalley of Botwood, Alma (Arnold) Bourne of Hamilton, ON; Jean Gill of Portugal Cove, Edna Davis of Bishop Falls, grandchildren, Jennifer Dyke, Stephen and Amanda Cull, Brendan and Amy Lanning and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander. Funeral service took place on Monday, December 13th at 11:00 A.M. from St. Martin's Anglican Cathedral, Gander. Internment followed at All Saints Cemetery. STAGG, Jesse Lawrence -
Passed peacefully away at Brookfield Hospital on Sunday, December 12, 2010, Jesse Lawrence Stagg, age 65 years of Cape Freels. Predeceased by his parents, Ammon and Greta Stagg; sister, Marcie; brother, Maxwell; and other family. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Lucy; sons, Daniel(Danielle) of Ft. McMurray and David of Ft. McMurray; brothers, Henry(Loretta) of Cape Freels, Boyd (Florrie) of Cape Freels, Clifford (Zora) of Badger's Quay, Peter of Cape Freels, Clyde (Esther) of Cape Freels, Ben (Emily) of Cape Freels, Ricky (Juliette) of Cape Freels and Leonard (Maxine) of Cape Freels; sisters, Cassie Stokes (Tony) of Cape Freels, Barbara Humphries (Glenn) of Lumsden and Donna Blackwood (Arthur) of Cape Freels; a large number of nieces and nephews; and other relatives and many friends. Funeral service took place at Trinity United Church, Newtown on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 with Rev. Lorne Bungay officiating. Interment followed at The United Church Cemetery, Cape Freels. ORGAN, Leo -
Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Saturday, December 11, 2010, Leo Organ, age 76. Leo was a resident of Glenwood for 50 years. Predeceased by his parents, John and Lillian Organ, wife, Madonna, brothers, Nick, Abe and Ray Organ. Left to mourn with loving memories are his sons, Todd (Denise) of Clarenville, Peter (Winnie) of North West River, Lab; daughter, Betty (Matt) Myers of Fredericton, NB; brothers, Gerald and Mike of St. Joseph's Cove, grandchildren, Katie and Kristen Myers, Brett and Claire Organ, Marcus Organ and a large circle of other family and friends, the staff and residents of Cozy Quarters Home, Clarenville. Resting at St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, Glenwood on Monday, December 13th. Funeral Mass took place on Tuesday, December 14th at 11:00 A.M. Cremation followed. Inurnment took place on Wednesday, December 15th at 11:00 A.M. at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Glenwood. Donations in Leo's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. WHITEHORN, Verdun -
Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on Monday, December 20, 2010, Verdun Whitehorn, age 72. Predeceased by her parents, Gordon and Emeline Parrott, sisters, Daphne Ivany and Irene Raymond, brother's-in-law, Walt Raymond and Weldon Ivany, sister-in-law, Dot Parrott. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are her loving husband of 54 years, Howard (Howie), sons, Wayne (Janet), Gord, daughters, Lynn Walsh (Randy), Lorna Budden (Gary), Gigi Abbott (Shawn), grandchildren, Laurie, Robyn, Mark, Kyle, Jeremy, Quinn, Aidan, great-grandchildren Alyson, Ryan, sister, Joan Larcombe of GF-W, Ted Parrott (Grace) of Gander, Bill (Marg) of Nova Scotia, niece, Gloria Penney and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander. Funeral service was held on Wednesday December 22nd at 2:00 P.M. from St. Martin's Anglican Cathedral, Gander. Inurnment followed at Commonwealth War Graves on the Trans Canada Highway. Donations in Mrs. Whitehorn's memory may be made to the Central Northeast Health Foundation. DART, Garfield Andrew (January 19, 1918 - December 31, 2010) -
Passed peacefully away at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Garfield Andrew Dart of Sandringham in his 92nd year. Predeceased by his wife, Winnifred (nee Bradley) and granddaughters, Samantha and Stephanie. Left to mourn son, Garfield Jr. (Ann), daughter, Cosetta White (Samuel), six grandchildren, Andrea, Andrew, Rebecca, Bradley, Garry, Charles. Former long time resident of Gander and retiree from the Federal Government, Garfield also served with the Nfld Forestry Unit in Scotland during WWII. Special thanks to the Dialysis unit in Gander and the staff of Nightingale Manor for their devoted care. Internment took place January 3, 2011 at The Church of the Resurrection, Sandringham.
