Passed peacefully away on July 1, 2003 at Brookfield
Hospital, Carman Hounsell of Lumsden, age 84
years. Predeceased by parents, Percy and Florence Hounsell; sisters,
Pearl, Gertrude, Anastacia and Ina; sister-in-law, Esther Hounsell;
brothers-in-law, William Benson, Roland Hann, Archibald Stanford
and Jack Dyke. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife,
Doris; sons, Cecil (Bernadette) of Labrador City, warren of pound
Cove; daughters, Sylvia Luscombe (Harold) of Loon Bay, Gloria
Spurrell (Lester) of Badger's Quay; brother, Bertram of Pound
Cove; 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a large
circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held
on July 3rd at St. Thomas United church, Pound Cove
with Rev. M. Bowlby officiating. Interment followed at St. Thomas

SHARPE, Doreen M. (nee Shea) -
Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family and
friends on July 3, 2003, Doreen Sharpe of
St. Philips, age 66 years. Predeceased by her brothers-in-law,
Leo and Harvey Sharpe and sister-in-law, Brenda Rouse. Left
to mourn her loving husband of 41 years, Gerald; son, Gerry
of Toronto; daughters, Debbie Jones (Carl) of Portugal Cove,
and Kim Ryan (Bruce) of Calgary; beloved grandchildren, Matthew
and Steven Jones, Bailey and Carter Ryan. Also left to mourn
are her brothers, Lawrence, Bev (Audrey), Morley (Joan) and
Neil (Mary Elizabeth); sisters, Beryl Randell (Eric), and Karen
Wheaton (Austin); sisters-in-law, Fronie Shea, Jean Tacker
(Austin), Hilda Clarke (Les) and Mary Tucker (Clyde); brothers-in-law,
Victor Sharpe (Olive), Ver. Rev. John Sharpe (Cynthia), Ray
Sharpe (Alice) Ed Sharpe (Jill) and Dave Rouse; uncle, Bruce
Shea; nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends, especially
her friends, Cecile (Clyde) Bradbury, Viola Squires and Audrey
Barter. Rested at Carnell's Funeral Home, Freshwater Road,
St. John's. Funeral service took place on July 6th at
St. Philips Anglican Church with interment at the Anglican

Passed peacefully away on July 3, 2003 at the
James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Grace W. Langdon of
Gander. Predeceased by her daughter, Iona Glover and son-in-law,
John Glover; and sisters, Julia and Rose. Left with fond and
loving memories are husband, Clayton; sons, Elmo (Dawn) of Gander,
Norman (Margaret) of Ajax, ON, Calvin (Joan) of Gander, Derek
(Lorranda) of Gander, Pastor Gary Langdon (Kathy) of Stanhope;
daughters, Lavinia (Roderick Jeans) of Lewisporte, Donna (Isaac

after a battle with cancer, Cora M. Mitchell (Snow),
in her 76th year. Predeceased by her son, Monty in
1979; husband Bryan 1994; and brothers, Ross and Jack Snow. Left

Hospital, after a long illness, Thomas Verdun Hunt of
Greenspond, aged 86 years. Predeceased by his wife, Annie-Louise

Harbor in her 94th year. Predeceased by her husband,

John and Harry Burton; two sisters, Edna Watts and Fanny Abbott.

to an unexpected illness while on vacation in Newfoundland, Myrtle
