HOUNSELL, Carman (April 19, 1919 - July 1, 2003) -
Passed peacefully away on July 1, 2003 at Brookfield Hospital, Carman Hounsell of Lumsden, age 84 years. Predeceased by parents, Percy and Florence Hounsell; sisters, Pearl, Gertrude, Anastacia and Ina; sister-in-law, Esther Hounsell; brothers-in-law, William Benson, Roland Hann, Archibald Stanford and Jack Dyke. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Doris; sons, Cecil (Bernadette) of Labrador City, warren of pound Cove; daughters, Sylvia Luscombe (Harold) of Loon Bay, Gloria Spurrell (Lester) of Badger's Quay; brother, Bertram of Pound Cove; 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on July 3rd at St. Thomas United church, Pound Cove with Rev. M. Bowlby officiating. Interment followed at St. Thomas Cemetery, Pound Cove. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove.

SHARPE, Doreen M. (nee Shea) -
Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family and friends on July 3, 2003, Doreen Sharpe of St. Philips, age 66 years. Predeceased by her brothers-in-law, Leo and Harvey Sharpe and sister-in-law, Brenda Rouse. Left to mourn her loving husband of 41 years, Gerald; son, Gerry of Toronto; daughters, Debbie Jones (Carl) of Portugal Cove, and Kim Ryan (Bruce) of Calgary; beloved grandchildren, Matthew and Steven Jones, Bailey and Carter Ryan. Also left to mourn are her brothers, Lawrence, Bev (Audrey), Morley (Joan) and Neil (Mary Elizabeth); sisters, Beryl Randell (Eric), and Karen Wheaton (Austin); sisters-in-law, Fronie Shea, Jean Tacker (Austin), Hilda Clarke (Les) and Mary Tucker (Clyde); brothers-in-law, Victor Sharpe (Olive), Ver. Rev. John Sharpe (Cynthia), Ray Sharpe (Alice) Ed Sharpe (Jill) and Dave Rouse; uncle, Bruce Shea; nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends, especially her friends, Cecile (Clyde) Bradbury, Viola Squires and Audrey Barter. Rested at Carnell's Funeral Home, Freshwater Road, St. John's. Funeral service took place on July 6th at St. Philips Anglican Church with interment at the Anglican Cemetery, St. Philips. LANGDON, Grace W. -
Passed peacefully away on July 3, 2003 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Grace W. Langdon of Gander. Predeceased by her daughter, Iona Glover and son-in-law, John Glover; and sisters, Julia and Rose. Left with fond and loving memories are husband, Clayton; sons, Elmo (Dawn) of Gander, Norman (Margaret) of Ajax, ON, Calvin (Joan) of Gander, Derek (Lorranda) of Gander, Pastor Gary Langdon (Kathy) of Stanhope; daughters, Lavinia (Roderick Jeans) of Lewisporte, Donna (Isaac Blake) of Happy Valley-Goose Bay and Marilyn (Tom Lovell) of Scarborough, ON; brother, Maxwell (Ettie) of Gambo; sister, Sarah of Glovertown; 19 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; also a large number of relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on July 6th at the Pentecostal Church, Gander. Interment followed at All Saints Cemetery, Gander. MITCHELL, Cora M. (Snow) -
Passed peacefully away at home on July 4, 2003, after a battle with cancer, Cora M. Mitchell (Snow), in her 76th year. Predeceased by her son, Monty in 1979; husband Bryan 1994; and brothers, Ross and Jack Snow. Left to mourn are sons, Gary (Judy), Randy (Linda), Tony (Susan), Bill (Sarah); grandchildren, Vicki, Bryan, Alison and Gregory; great-grandchildren, Kayla and Jared; brother, Winston (Elsie); sisters, Joyce, Norma (Mel); sister-in-law, Helen; also a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. HUNT, Thomas V. (December 4, 1916 - July 8, 2003) -
Passed peacefully away on July 8, 2003 at Brookfield Hospital, after a long illness, Thomas Verdun Hunt of Greenspond, aged 86 years. Predeceased by his wife, Annie-Louise (Hutchins). Left with fond and loving memories are his sister, Mary (Hunt); two nephews, Joliffe (Millicent) Quinton, Terry (Judy) Quinton; two nieces, Louise (James) Osborne, Sylvia (Roy) Ficken and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral services was held on July 11, 2003 from St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Greenspond with Father J. Colin Dedde officiating. Interment followed at St. Stephen's Anglican Cemetery, Greenspond. PARDY, Melissa -
Passed away on July 8, 2003 at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay, Mrs. Melissa Pardy of Musgrave Harbor in her 94th year. Predeceased by her husband, Charles, 1978, parents, Noah and Melina Burton; two brothers, John and Harry Burton; two sisters, Edna Watts and Fanny Abbott. Left with fond and loving memories are son, Ralph Pardy (Audrey) of Musgrave Harbor; five grandchildren, Cluney Pardy (Michelle), Linda Abbott (Calvin), Wayne Pardy (Julia), all of Musgrave Harbor, Brent Pardy (Correna) of Gander, Colleen Abbott (Dion) of Fort McMurray, Alt; nine great-grandchildren, Sheldon, Trina, Shane, Shannon, Shaw, C.J., Stephanie, Mitchell, and Andy; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on July 10th from the Salvation Army Citadel in Musgrave Harbor. Interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Musgrave Harbor. CROCKER, Margaret -
Passed peacefully away on July 15, 2003 at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay, Margaret Crocker of Greenspond, age 96 years. Predeceased by her husband, George; parents, Mary-Anne and Robert John Humphries; sisters, Lillian Kennedy and Henriette Hiscock. Left with fond and loving memories are her nephews, Fred Crocker (Holly) of Greenspond, Robert Kennedy (Winnie) of St. John's, Reg Kennedy (Marjorie) of Goulds; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on July 17th at St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Greenspond with Father Dedde officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Greenspond. WHITE, George James -
Passed peacefully away July 17, 2003 at his residence in Glenwood, George James White. Left with fond and loving memories are wife, Ethel; daughter, Shirley (Noble Bowes); grandsons, Christopher and Brian Bowes; brother, Cyril (Flossie) of Newmarket, ON; sister, Mabel (Benjamin) of Grand Bank, NL; brother-in-law, Reg of Edmonton, sister-in-law, Ruby of Port Union, NL; also a large number of relatives and friends. CROCKER, Olive -
Passed peacefully away July 20, 2003 at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay, Olive Crocker of Greenspond, age 84. Predeceased by husband, Darius; parents, Tobias and Ellen Parsons; and sister, Louise Carter. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her brother, William Parsons, (Ethel) of Greenspond and a large number of other family and friends. Funeral service was held on July 23rd at St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Greenspond with Rev. V. Reid officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Greenspond. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove-Musgrave Harbour.

PARSONS, Myrtle May (nee Pritchett) -
Passed peacefully away on July 21, 2003 due to an unexpected illness while on vacation in Newfoundland, Myrtle May Parsons (nee Pritchett), at the age of 48. Predeceased by her father Watson. Left with fond and loving memories are son, Correy (Donna) and daughter, Kimberly (Chris); three grandchildren, Brittany, Branden and Drake; mother, Sadie; stepfather, Ross; eight sisters and four brothers, Winnie Rodgers (Gordon), Geraldine Granter (Raymond), Lola Lehr (Randy), Rex Pritchett (Juanita), Larry Pritchett (Sandra), Ivan Pritchett (Heather), Gloria Wade (Tony), Karen Moore (Danny), Jackie Oram (Kevin), Rhonda Holloway (Glen), Dwight Pritchett (Cindy), sherry Currie (Troy); as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on July 25th at St. George's Anglican Church, Gambo. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Pritchett's Funeral Home, Gambo.

PRESTON, Alexander -
Passed peacefully away on July 23, 2003 at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay, Alexander Preston of Valleyfield, age 92. Left with fond and loving memories are step-sister, Barbara Winter of Wesleyville; nephews, Marvin, Randy, Russell and Barry; niece, Olive; the Stratton family; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on July 26th at the United Church, Valleyfield with Rev. T. Cole officiating. Interment followed at the United Cemetery, Valleyfield. BROWN, Mary -
Passed peacefully away on July 26, 2003 at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay, Mary Brown of Badger's Quay, age 97 years. Predeceased by husbands, Kenneth Pinsent and Bertram Brown; parents, Amelia and Caphias Pond; sister, Elizabeth Pond; brothers, Aubrey, Walter and Benjamin. Left with fond and loving memories are two sons, Clarence (Charity) of St. John's, Wayne (Alma) of Badger's Quay; sister-in-law, Ethel Spurrell of Badger's Quay; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on July 29th from St. Alban's Anglican Church, Badger's Quay with Rev. John Watton officiating. Interment followed from the Anglican Cemetery, Badger's Quay. HOLLOHAN, Marion (1961-2003) -
Passed away on July 27, 2003, Marion Hollohan of Gander. Left to mourn her husband, Derek Webster; her mother, Violet, his mother, Webbie; sisters, Doreen, Lillian, Cathy and Cynthia; brothers, John, Phillip, Leo, Lew and Jim. She will be greatly missed by the spouses of her family, nieces and nephews, numerous friends, colleagues and students - past and present. Passed peacefully away July 28, 2003 at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay, Violet Best, age 92. Predeceased by her husband, Percy; parents, Louise and James Janes; daughter, May Fox and son-in-law, Jim Fox; grandson, Robbie Vivian; brothers, Nelson and John Janes; sisters, Julia Moss, Lilian White, Minnie Stokes, Elizabeth Dyke, Lenora Halley, Maria Spurrell and Myrtle Janes. Left with fond and loving memories are daughter, Gladys Vivian (Leonard) of Wesleyville; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Passed peacefully away on July 31, 2003 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Una Hallett. Predeceased by her two sons, Donald Ralph and David Albert. BAULD, Eliza -
Passed peacefully away on July 31, 2003 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Eliza Bauld, age 81 years. Predeceased by husband, Rex Bauld. Left to mourn her loving family, sons, Daniel (Mabel), David (Gertie) of Davidsville; daughters, Edna (Tom) of North Bay, Ontario, Daisy (Hubert) of Gander Bay South, Iona (Harry) of Davidsville, Marjorie (Richard) of North Bay, Ontario; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three brothers; and a large number of relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on August 3rd at St. David's anglican Church, Davidsville. Interment at St. David's Cemetery, Davidsville. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Woolfrey's Funeral Home, Lewisporte.
