KEAN, Ivy (nee Preston)
Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander,
on Saturday,
June 4, 2005, Ivy Kean (nee Preston ),
age 78 years of Gander, formerly of Valleyfield, surrounded by her loving
family. Predeceased by brothers, Percy and Corbett. Left to mourn with fond
and loving memories are her husband, Eli of 60 years; son, Wilson of Alberta;
daughters, Gertrude of Moncton, Leah of Mount Pearl, Christine (Roy) of Wabush,
Karen (Baxter) of Badger's Quay; brother, Hedley; sisters, Minnie and Addie.
She will be missed by her nine grandchildren. Ivy will be forever remembered
by all those who loved her for her spiritual guidance and her witty remarks.
Funeral service was held on June 7th at the United Church, Valleyfield
with Rev. Heather Sandford officiating. Interment followed at the United
Cemetery, Valleyfield. Donations in her memory may be made to the United

Passed away suddenly on June 4, 2005 at the James
Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Ruby Perry, age 58 years.
Predeceased by her parents, Clara and Arch Hodder. Left with loving memories
are her son, Todd (Carrie-Lee) of Gander; daughter, Adele (Stephen) of Torbay;
brothers, Ernest (Jessie) of Davidsville, Gerald (Edna) of Main Point, Howard

TURNER, Annie Margaret (nee Brown)
Entered into eternal rest on June 8, 2005 at the James
Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Annie Margaret (nee Brown) Turner of
Happy Adventure in her 84th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband,
Harvey (1992); brothers, Lewis and John; sisters, May and Edith. Left to mourn
are her daughter, Joan Innes (George); sons, William (Lorraine) and Robert
(Linda); nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Frank (Ivy),
sister, Olive Babstock (Gerald); sisters-in-law, Lurley Brown and Betty Brown.
Rested at Squires Funeral Home, Eastport. Funeral service was held on June
11th at Holy Cross Anglican Church. Interment followed at Holy Cross
Cemetery. In her memory, donations may be made to Holy Cross Anglican Church,
Eastport, Newfoundland.
Her life was devoted to her cherished family

WINTERS, R. Maxwell (Max)
The death of Robert Maxwell (Max) Winters of 54 Mountain
Road, Saint John East, husband of Arline (Webster) Winters, occurred unexpectedly
on Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at Brookfield
Hospital, Wesleyville, Newfoundland. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son
of the late George and Ethel (Snow) Winters. Max was an Industrial Mechanic
at Lantic Sugar for 24 years and later worked at Irving Paper for 16 years
before his retirement in 1990. He was an avid hockey enthusiast, being a great
fan of the Detroit Red Wings and the Saint John Flames where he was a member
of the Igniters Fan Club. Max was a big supporter of and coached the Industrial
Hockey Leagues, volunteered with the Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign
and was a member of Local 601 Paper Worker's Union. Besides his wife, he is
survived by three brothers, Roland of Gambo, NL, Walter (Mary) of Wesleyvlle,
NL, and Dr. George (Gloria) of St. John's, NL; four sisters, Verna Isnor (Harold)
of Hampton, Lena Rogers (Eric) of Pool's Island, NL, Susie Wilkins of Gander,
NL and Jessie Freake (Bill) of Wesleyville, NL; several cousins, nieces, nephews
and his special pal, Sugar Plum. Rested at Brenan's Select Community Funeral
Home, Saint John. Funeral service took place at Forest Hills United Baptist
church on June 13th. Interment at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery . Remembrances

Science Centre, St. John's, Frank Spurrell. Predeceased by
