ROBERTS, Heber Alexander -
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Heber Roberts, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. Heber slipped peacefully away at his home in the presence of his loving and adoring family on Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Heber was 83 years old but with the blessing of Reverend Tammy Hodge, we celebrated his 84th birthday and his life with us a little early. And thank you to all of Heber's family and friends who have been supportive throughout his journey. Predeceased by his brothers, Bruce (Margaret), Gus (Neta), Bobs/Mark (Dorothy), Rex (Norma), Harry (Dorothy) and sister, Irene (Tom). Leaving to mourn are his loving and devoted wife, Dorothy Winnifred (Blackmore); son, David (Cathy); daughters, Judy (Dwain), Cathy, Helen (Yale) and Marilyn (Jean); grandchildren, Lucas, Michael, Marina, Heather, Brandon, Daniel and Salvatore and very special great-grandchildren, Ethan and Matteo. Also leaving to mourn are his sisters, Arthura Thu (George) and Elizabeth/Margie (Gordon); brother, Wilfred (Elizabeth/Libby), as well as a large circle of family and friends. Heber was a Phys Ed teacher for 17 years; a life insurance underwriter for 17 years with Great West Life and Maritime Life in Gander, Newfoundland; an entrepreneur; a farmer; and a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was also an entertainer who brought music and joy to everyone. We are sure Heber is saying "cheers to us all, have another swally" and wanting us to celebrate his life. Funeral service was officiated by Reverend Tammy Hodge at St. Nicholas Anglican Church on March 7th. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. WEBB, Nellie -
Passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes, Gander on March 2, 2010, Nellie Webb, age 82 years. Predeceased by husband, Duncan. Left with loving memories are sons, Gary (Sharmane) of Barrie, ON, Glen (Shirley) of Scarborough, ON, Dennis (Evelyn) of Snow Lake, Man; daughters, Linda (Ross) Diamond of Gander, Beulah (Gordon) Hogan of Gander, Christine (Clyde) Hillier of Main Point, Sandra (Geoffrey) French of Cobble Hill, BC., Karen Webb of Gander Bay South, 15 Grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, friend and care giver, Brenda Nippard. Also a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at St. David's Anglican Church, Davidsville. Funeral Service March 6th at 2:00 P.M.. Interment Anglican Cemetery, Davidsville. RICKETTS, Thomas Cornelius -
Passed peacefully away at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay on March 16, 2010, Thomas Cornelius Ricketts, age 83 years, formerly of Wesleyville. Predeceased by his wife, Edith; parents, Moulton and Gladys Ricketts and brother, Winston. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are three sons, Wayne (Shirley) of Moncton, NB, Robert of Wesleyville, Gordon (Debbie) of Scarborough, ON; three daughters, Sylvia Talk (Lindsay) of Paradise, Juanita Hanlon (Reg Dyke) of Newtown, Roxanne Brown (Tony) of Labrador City; three sisters, Sarah Smedley (Jack) of BC, Stella Brown (Malcolm) of Ontario, Margaret Clarke (Doug) of Ontario; five grandchildren, Sheila Tulk, Matthew Ricketts (Holly) Jordan Brown (LeAnn), Courtney Hanlon, Amber Hanlon and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on March 20th at the Salvation Army Citadel, New-Wes-Valley with Captain Sheldon Bungay officiating. Interment following at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Wesleyville. TEMPLE, Randolph (Reidville, NL, September 6, 1945 - March 19, 2010) -
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Randolph Temple of Reidville, Newfoundland, at the age of 64. Randolph passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Friday, March 19, 2010, following a brief battle with cancer. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife, Linda; daughters, Lana (Shane) Temple of Gander, JoAnn (Colin) Craig of Prince Edward Island; grandchildren, Dylan, Karlee, Tyler, Alexis, Olivia; mother, Mildred Temple of St. John's; brothers and sisters, Maxine (Cyril) Hughes of Green Island Brook, Ford (Linda) Temple of Long Cove, Cynthia (Edgar) Burden of Salvage, Geoff (Kathy) of Grande Prairie; sisters and brothers-in-law, Suzanne Hatfield of Yarmouth, NS, Debbie Lutz of Berwick, NS, Marsha (Jim) Lutz of Bowden, AB, Maryanne (John) Greencorn of Dartmouth, NS and Jennie (Phillip) Burns of Halifax, NS; as well as a large circle of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Alfred; brother-in-law, Lorne Hatfield and mother and father-in-law, Judson and Ruby Lutz. Visitation was held from Fillatre's Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake on Saturday and Sunday. The funeral service was held on March 22nd from the St. George's Anglican Church in Cormac with Rev. Edmund Laldin officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Church Cemetery in Cormack. BUTT, Graham Cyril -
Passed suddenly in Gander on Saturday, March 20, 2010, Graham Cyril Butt, aged 63 years. Predeceased by his parents, Cyril and Netta Butt. Left with loving memories are his wife, Elaine; son, Todd of Ottawa,ON; daughters, Tobi (Chris) Hewlin of St. John's, NL, Tara (Ben) Fitzgerald of Corner Brook, NL; brother, Kevin (Helen) of Hillgrade, N.W.I. NL; sister, Mary Hillier (Eldred Warren) of Banff, AB, and one grandchild, Avah Fitzgerald. A very special thank you to so many of our relatives and friends for all their love and support at this difficult time. Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home Gander. Funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 from Fraser Road United Church, Gander. Followed by interment at All Saints Cemetery. BROCANIER, Andrew (1992-2010) -
It is with deep sadness that our family announces the sudden passing of our son, Andrew Dawson Brocanier, age 17 years at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Sunday, March 21, 2010. Beloved son of Robin and Valerie Brocanier and devoted brother to his sister, Taylor Brocanier - all of Tillsonburg. Cherished grandson of Alfred Dawson Hiscock of Gander, Newfoundland and Alice Janice Brocanier of Tillsonburg. Dear nephew of Wade (Sandra) Hiscock of Mount Pearl, Newfoundland, David (Collinette) Hiscock of Bonavista, Newfoundland. Andrew is also survived by his cousins, Julia, Jennifer and Davey Hiscock. Predeceased by his grandparents, Mary Jane Hiscock (1983) and Roland Brocanier (1974). Andrew was an accomplished student of Glendale High School in his final months of grade twelve. He was a lifeguard and swimming instructor at the Tillsonburg Community Complex. He grew up in the Tillsonburg Minor Hockey and soccer Associations. He absolutely enjoyed his quad ATV and was a Super Motor Cross enthusiast. Andrew had great aspirations of becoming a police officer following in his dad's footsteps. He had made application to do his co-op program through the Tillsonburg OPP police detachment. He had intensions of starting his police career starting with the Military Police and finishing with a lifetime career with the OPP. He loved riding his bicycle when he could with his friends and took every opportunity to do some fishing - another passion of his. Funeral service at St. Paul's United church on Saturday, March 27th with Rev. Father Bill Ward, Rev. Richard Jones, and Pastor Rayburn Lansdell officiating. Interment Tillsonburg Cemetery. RICHARDS, Florence Edith -
Passed peacefully away James Paton Memorial Hospital on Sunday, March 21, 2010, Florence Edith Richards, aged 77 years. Predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Clara Organ; sisters, Vera and her husband, Jim, Marjorie and her husband, Obediah Northcott; brother-in-law, Don Kendell. Left with loving memories are her husband, Clement; son, Michael (Sharon) Richards of Glenwood, NL; brother, Clayton (Kate) Organ of Norris Point, NL; sister, Stella Kendell of Glenwood, NL; grandchildren, Jonathan Hanlon, Krista Samson; great-grandchild, Jack Hanlon; many nieces and nephews. Also a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Glenwood. Funeral service was held Wednesday, March 24, 2010 from St. Andrews Anglican Church with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery Glenwood. BRINSON, Alvin (August 12, 1928 - March 22, 2010) -
Passed peacefully away in the presence of loving daughters at Lakeside Homes, Gander on Monday, March 22, 2010, Alvin Raymond Brinson of Frederickton, in his 81st year. Predeceased by parents, James and Prescilla Brinson; wife, Marjorie; sons, Bert and George; daughter, Winnie; sisters, Flossie and Betty and brothers, George, Chesley and Donnie. Leaving to mourn sons, Gordon (Louise), Edward (Janie); daughters, Gertrude (David), Marjorie, Maisie and Betty (Ted). Also thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; four brothers and four sisters. A heartfelt thanks to family and friends for their love and support and also great appreciation to the nursing staff of Extended Care Unit at Lakeside. A special thanks to Mrs.Ginn and Ruth (family of Alvin's roommate, Charlie for your kindness. Funeral service was held at Frederickton United Church on March 25th with internment at Beaver Cove Cemetery (his beloved birthplace). Arrangements were entrusted to Woolfreys Funeral Home Ltd. PICKETT, Lavinia -
Passed peacefully away in her residence at Whitby, Ontario on Monday, March 22, 2010 surrounded by her loving family, Lavinia Pickett, age 86 years of Centreville. Predeceased by her husband, Gilbert; parents, Edwin and Ella Picket; brothers, Walter John, Robert, Eli and Stephen; sister, Ellen Hounsell; grandchildren, Vernon Pickett and Joseph Waterman; son-in-law, Scott Wicks. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons, Donald (Daphne) of Centreville, Ezra (Margaret) of Whitby, ON and Ronald (Doris) of Centreville; daughters, Daphne (Isaac) of Centreville and Bet of Whitby, ON; sister, Elizabeth Annie (Peter) of Hare Bay; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. DAVIS, Gordon Boyd -
After a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, Gander on Friday, Marcy 27, 2010, Gordon Boyd Davis in his 66th year. Gordon was born in St. John's, NL on August 24th, 1943. He resided in Trinity, Bonavista Bay and relocated to Hare Bay, Bonavista Bay in 1948. He leaves to mourn his wife of 42 years, Leone; son, Jeff (Tanya); granddaughter, Cassidy; mother, Jane; and siblings, Winston (Irene), William (Annie), Robin (Pauline), Bernice and Patsy. He is predeceased by father, Fred. Gord will be sadly missed by his family and a large circle of friends. Funeral service was held on March 31st at Knox United Church, Hare Bay. Donations in Gordon's memory can be made to the Palliative Care Unit, James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador.

SAUNDERS, Lauri-Ann -
Passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, March 27, 2010, in Gander after a brief illness. She was 37. Ever loved and sadly missed by mother, Shirley, father, Lloyd; sister, Terri-Lynn; step-mother, Suzanne Saunders; step-brother, Mathieu Saunders; best friend, Caroline Butt; step-grandparents, Robert and Annette Marion; aunts, Jean Lane (Eric), Terri Saunders (Trevor Harrison), Christine Amendola (Sergio), Helen Morgan (Paul), Joan Ann Baier (Al), Pat Worden (Jim), Jennie Gilbert, Todd Benazzi (Lucien), Cathy Eveleigh; uncles, John Murray (Loretta), Junior Beson (Donna), David Beson (Ann), Cyril Beson (Marie), Michael Murray (Marg), Kevin Murray (Pam); many cousins and extended family members around the country; close friends, Heather Baggs and Dee White. Passed peacefully away with family members sat her side on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Delores Edith Tulk (Flynn) January 17, 1928 - March 30, 2010, age 82 years. Predeceased by her loving husband, Radclyffe. Leaving to mourn one sister, Bonnie Shay of Massachusetts; five children, Dana (Tammy) of Witchita, Raymond of Colorado springs, Barbara George (Frank) of Corner Brook, JoAnn Abbott (Jim) of St. John's and Lori Tulk (Derrick Chaulk) of Edmonton; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and a large circle of family and friends. Funeral service took place at St. Stephen's United Church, Ladle Cove on Thursday, April 1, 2010 with Rev. Harry Templeman officiating. Interment followed at the United Cemetery, Ladle Cove.
