BEMISTER, Glynn
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one Glynn Bemister age 66 years of Musgrave Harbour. Glynn passed away peacefully at Brookfield Hospital surrounded by his family on Monday, March 24, 2014. Predeceased by his parents Baxter and Virginia; and three brothers. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Frances; son Alphonse (Shirley Lawlor) of Paradise; daughters Mary Margaret Locke (Jody) of Grand Falls - Windsor and Jenny Ryan (John Broomfield) of Gambo; brothers Baxter Jr. (Valerie) of Musgrave Harbour and Christopher (Tina) of Gambo; sisters Effie Whalen (Ralph) of Carmanville, Jacqueline Rideout (Garry) of Twillingate and Elizabeth Jenkins (Wallace) of Carmanville; grandchildren Patrick, Curtis and Dianna; great-grandchildren Madison, Hunter and Tyson; and a large circle of other relatives and many friends. Funeral service took place at The Salvation Army Citadel, Musgrave Harbour on Thursday, March 27, 2014 with Majors Barry and Donna Anstey officiating. BURKE, Gordon
Passed suddenly away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on Friday, March 28th, 2014, Gordon Burke, age 74 years. Predeceased by his parents Albert and Martha Burke, brothers Sam, Al, Bob and sisters Mae (Ben), Gertie (Jack), Lorna and Linda (Harold). Left to mourn with loving memories are his wife Betty, sons Gord (Michelle), Todd (Tracy), daughters Arlene (Todd), Maureen (Ray), grandchildren Matt (Annie), Daniel (Sarah), Liam, Dane, Evan and Vicki (Chris), great-grandchildren Cole and Quinn, brothers Art (Mae), Don (Anne), mother-in-law Margaret Wicks, brothers and sisters-in-law Alex Wicks, Jim (Lyn) Wicks, Linda (Dave) Barton, Francis M. Burke, Francis Burke, Mike Butt, Linda Burke and a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander. Funeral service took place on Wednesday, April 2nd at 2:00 P.M. from the Fraser Road United Church. Followed by cremation. Interment All Saints Cemetery. CHIPPETT, Lucy May
Passed peacefully away at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 Lucy May Chippett age 89 years of Campbellton. Predeceased by her parents Walter and Elsie Snow; husband Clifford Chippett (1968); daughter Marie Chippett-Turner, who passed away on May 9, 2013 in her 70th year. At the time of Marie's passing, she had requested that due to her mom's health, her death would not be announced. Lucy is also predeceased by her brothers Eric (Madeline), Hardy (Frances), Lloyd and Frederick; sisters Elsie (Ernest) and Minnie (Scott). Left with fond and loving memories are her son Hardy (Terry) of Wesleyville; daughter Mary Lou Chippett of Grand Falls-Windsor; son-in-law Thomas Turner of St. John's; grandchildren Jamie (Michelle) Chippett, Jeremy (Jennifer) Chippett, Chad (Cailey) Boone, Jill (Kevin) Hartle and Danielle (David) Power; great-grandchildren Sydney Hartle, Sophie Chippett and Sebastian Perry-Chippett, sisters-in-law; Pearl Snow of Campbellton, Myrtis Chippett of Campbellton, also many nieces, nephews on both sides of her family and many cherished friends whom she made over the years, wherever she resided. Funeral service took place at The Salvation Army Citadel, Campbellton on Thursday, March 13, 2014 with Captain Kay Barnes officiating. Interment followed at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Campbellton. FIRMAGE, Clarence Jesse
November 9, 1936 - March 3, 2014
It is with great sadness the Firmage family announce the passing of their love one. On Mar 3, 2014 Clarence passed away at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay, in the presence of his wife and family at the age of 77. He is predeceased by his parents Avalon & Lorraine (Winters) Firmage; brothers, George and David; great granddaughter Sydney Rogers; brother in law Heldrey Parsons. Leaving to cherish his memory is his wife of 50 years Nellie (Hounsell); sons, Ross(Trudy), Shawn (Paula), Lee (Michelle), George (Paula), Rod (Tanya), Vince (Tammy), Donnie (Angie); daughters, Doreen (Gerry), Jodean (Nathan), Lori ( Eric) Oldford; brother Adam (Eliza); sisters, Elizabeth Parsons, Florence (Enos) Hounsell; sister in law Evelyn; 24 loving grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Clarence lived a lifetime surrounded by many family members and close friends that will forever miss him. Visitation was held at Sincerely Yours Funeral Home on March, 4-6, 2014. Funeral Service took place at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 2:00 pm officiated by Rev. David Coffin. Interment was at the St. John the Baptist Anglican Cemetery, Wareham. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jennifer Pender of Sincerely Yours Funeral Home.

GOULDING, Harold
Korean Veteran
(August 23, 1931 - March 16, 2014)
With broken hearts the family of Harold Goulding announce his peaceful passing on March 16th after a courageous battle with cancer. Harold was born and raised in Dark Cove, Gambo. At the tender age of 20 he joined the 4th Field Squadron as a Sapper and went to the Korean War. Upon returning from Korea he went to work in Gander where he met the love of his life Mary. They were married in 1957 and soon after were blessed with the first of five sons. His family was his life and Sweetbay was the place he loved to be the most. It was his place where tranquility and family met. Predeceased by his parents James and Susannah, in laws James and Annie Dooley, his sister Patricia and sister in law Wynn Elder. Left with fond memories are Mary, his loving wife of 57years, and five sons; Rick (Kelly), Ron (Terry), Gerry (Wendy), Sean (Deidre) and Lorne (Darlene). Seven beautiful grandchildren; Aaron, Sarah (Jamie), Tess, Tegan, Liam, Luke and Olivia. Four sisters; Beulah, Gladys (Ivan), Rita (Larry) and Bernice (Ed), and five brothers; Jesse (Evelyn), Hubert (Grace), Murray (Anne), Clyde (Olga), Wayne (Sandra). In Laws; Jack (Lorraine), Bride, Phonse (Irene), Jim (Lynn), Gert (Lloyd) and Patsy. As well as many nieces, nephews and neighbours who will miss him very much. Special thanks to the caring staff at palliative care James Paton Memorial Hospital, Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic and his neighbours Jim, Craig and families. Funeral service was held at 2 pm, Thursday March 20th at the Salvation Army Citadel. Donations to Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Centre or the Central Northeast Health Foundation. He was a man who was well respected, admired and loved by family and friends alike. The world has lost a gentle and loving soul. Arrangements entrusted though Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander. Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Health Centre, Gander on Monday, March 24th, 2014, Lloyd Hefford, age 72. Predeceased by his parents John and Lucy Hefford, sister Marie, brother Jim and In-laws John and Emma Walsh. Left to mourn with loving memories are his wife Cicely, sons Christopher (Heidi) of Gander, Brad (Heather) of Gander, grandchildren Sarah and Peyton Hefford, Thomas and Lewis Hefford, sisters in law Bessie King, Myra Hefford, brother in law Bill Walsh, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service was held at the Fraser Road United Church, Gander. Interment followed at All Saints Cemetery. Cremation has taken place. Passed peacefully away at Brookfield Hospital on Saturday, March 15, 2014 Calvin Howell age 82 years of Wesleyville. Predeceased by his parents William and Caroline Howell; son Dean; son-in-law Eric Spurrell Jr.; brother Raymond; sisters Elizabeth Dawe, Dorothy Churchill and Ada Fifield. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one Mr. Ellis W. Hicks, age 79 yrs of Musgrave Harbour. Predeceased by his parents Hedley and Ethel, brother Wilson, sister-in-law Joan and parents-in-law Randolph and Olive Pinsent. LANE, Dianne Catherine
It is with heavy hearts the family of Dianne Catherine Lane wishes to announce her peaceful passing with family by her side, after a very courageous and hard-fought battle in Castlegar, BC. Dianne was born in Gander, Newfoundland on May 22, 1956 to parents Clayton and Olive Butt. Left to mourn her loss is her loving husband of 35 years John; her daughter Jennifer (Chris Gagnon) of Prince George, BC; her son Shawn of Castlegar, BC; her sisters Sheila (Jeff) Richards of Pasadena, Newfoundland, Sharon (Darrell) Pike of Gander, Newfoundland and Dorothy (Eric) Hurley of Lewisporte, Newfoundland; her brother Jim (Judy) Butt of Pasadena, Newfoundland; the lights of her life, her granddaughters Rowen and Kailynn; her sister-in-law Marie (Frank) Sullivan of Calvert, Newfoundland and her brothers-in-law Art (Karen) Lane of Castlegar, BC and Terry Lane of Victoria, BC and Tony Lane; a large extended family and circle of friends. A celebration of Dianne's life took place at Robson Hall on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 2:00 PM. Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at Brookfield Hospital on Friday, March 14 , 2014, Abraham Moses Pickett age 78 years of Centreville. Predeceased by his parents Ethel Jane and Abraham Pickett; sisters Melina and Mabel; brothers-in-law Joseph and Hedley; sisters-in-law Lucy and Lorraine. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Cecilia; sons Floyd(Brenda) of Wareham and Edgar(Colinda) of Centreville; daughter Leone(Monte Green) of Ft. Predeceased by her husband Berturm Pinsent, husband Herbert Stokes, parents Alfred and Sarah Mouland, son-in-law Terry, granddaughter Dianna, great-granddaughter Jillian, great-grandson Pacy, brothers Bram, Adam, Harold, and William. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her five sons Clifford (Pauline), Bruce (Mona), Bob (Neta), Ray (Gloria), Gerald (Phyllis), daughter Yvonne Gillingham (Joe Stead) all of Musgrave Harbour, 20 grandchildren Dwight, Jason, Mickey, Dusty, Bobby, Grant, Kimberly, David Darrel, Wade, Lorelei, Mitchell, Fonce, Chris, Pam, Tammy, Joanne, Dianne, Debbie and Loretta, 32 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends.
