Stephen Wesley Baldwin
, 81, passed peacefully away Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander, NL. He is survived by his sons: Todd (Sheri), Sean (Zoe); daughter Leslie; heart-daughter Corinne; granddaughters: Sarah, Jasmine; grandson Stephen; devoted companion Emma, and a large circle of family and friends. A devoted father and friend, he was at his happiest when in the outdoors fishing, prospecting, berry picking or simply observing the beauty of the natural world. He was predeceased by his parents Walter and Abigail; sisters: Rose, Joyce, Peggy, Barbara, and Donna; Brothers Calvin, Clifford, and former wife Lorraine. In keeping with Stephen's wishes, cremation has taken place. Family will be receiving friends at Stacey's Funeral Home, 60 Roe avenue on Thursday November 24, 2016 from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday November 25, 2016 between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from the Fraser Road United Church, officiated by Reverend Kathy Brett with interment to take place at a later date. November 1, 1924 - November 25, 2016

Passed peacefully away on November 25, 2016, Helen Carter of St. John's in her 93rd year. Predeceased by her husband Robert, parents Nicholas and Bridget Wadden, sister Mary Brown, brothers Billy and Brian Wadden. Lovingly remembered by son Robert (Jill Penney) and daughters Cathy (Kevin Kelly), Anne (Alvin Hayes), Brenda, and Christine; grandchildren Erin, Grant, Diana, Evan, Ian, Nicholas, and Nathan; great grandchildren Avery and Emma; as well as her brother Ron (Nix) Wadden (Madeline), brother-in-law John Carter (Kay), special cousin Barbara Fitzgerald and niece Marie Wadden; and other nieces and nephews, close friends and bridge partners. Cremation has taken place. To celebrate her life please join the family at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St. John's on Monday, November 28 from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm. COLE, Barry
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother & uncle. After a brief battle with cancer, Barry Gordon Cole passed peacefully away on Saturday, November 26th, 2016 at the James Paton Memorial Health Centre, Gander, age 50. Predeceased by father Arthur Cole .Left to mourn with loving memories are his mother Barbara, sisters Lisa & Beverley (Andrew) niece Rebecca & nephews Jack & Ryan. Barry had many career interests but was most known for being a gifted cook in several restaurants both locally and in New Brunswick. Despite struggling with addiction, Barry was able to overcome many challenges in his life and found joy when he discovered a passion for painting. Barry was admired by those he knew for his mild mannerism, genuine compassion, and his exceptional sense of humour. Family received friends at Stacey's Funeral Home on Thursday, Dec 1st. COLLINS, Gertrude "LORRAINE"
Born: November 12th, 1922
Passed on: November 22nd, 2016

Passed away peacefully, Nov. 22, 2016, Gertrude "Lorraine" Collins nee Manuel. She was 94. Born Exploits Islands, NL. Nov. 12, 1922, Lorraine was predeceased by her parents Flossie and Arch Manuel, her siblings Alice, Herb, Una, Lily and Ella. Her husband William Clifford "Cliff" Collins of Spaniard's Bay NL., passed in 2006 at which time, Mom returned home to Newfoundland. Lorraine leaves behind 3 children George(Mary), Don(Lorna), and Lori ,7 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren Also left to mourn are sisters and brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews, and a large circle of extended family and friends. Mom was always active in the church, as a Sunday school teacher, organist and elder. She started her teaching career in Smith's Hr., then Fredericton and Mount Moriah and never stopped teaching us of the good things in life. Even in her 70's, Mom drove for Windsor Meals on Wheels, delivering hot meals and warn friendship to those less able. Cremation has taken place at her request.A quiet ceremony for family and friends is planned for 2017. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to any of her chosen charities, United Church of Canada (Riverside United, Windsor, ON., Emmanuel United Gambo, NL.), Heart and Stroke Foundation or Meals on Wheels. A special bouquet goes out to the capable and loving staff of Lakeside Homes, Gander.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear loved on Sunday November 20, 2016 at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay, Robert Firmage age 98 years of Wareham. Predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Sarah Firmage, wife; Pemela, sons; Samuel and Maxwell, brothers; Gilbert, Kenneth, Samuel, sister; Josephine Green and son-in-law; Eleazor Cutler. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his son; Allan (Emma) of Wareham, daughters; Esther Cutler of Trinity, Rose (Don Cutler) of Centreville, Sarah (Malcolm Rogers) of Trinity, Josephine (Peter Rogers) of Labrador City, Phyllis (Wilson Rogers) of Wareham, 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and a large circle of other relatives and many friends. GALLAGHER, Kenneth
Kenneth "Mike" Gallagher
passed away with his family at his side on November 26, at his home in Gander. Predeceased by his mother- Ina Ray, father- Joseph, Son- Kevin, Sisters- Eileen & Velma & Brother -Maurice. Beloved husband of Elizabeth (Betty). Loving father of Kerry (Paula Anderson), Kenneth (Pauline), Karen Poirier (Alex) and their mother Doreen. Loving father to step children Sheila Goldsworthy (Geoff), Paula Blackmore (Glen Mouland), Kim Humphries (David) & Perry Hartery (Dana). Sadly missed by 25 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, special family friend, Neila Gallagher & two siblings Cleave & Raymore (Reta), nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Kenneth (Mike) was born Feb 15, 1932, near Peterborough, Ontario. Enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy July 1949 where he served for 25 years having been in every rank from ordinary seaman to Captain. Upon retiring from the Navy, with help from an extraordinary friend, Harry Steele, he started a new career in the Hotel business (Mount Peyton) for 20 years and then assumed control of the Glymill Inn in Corner Brook. In 1996 he retired from the hotel business and returned to his hometown in Peterborough with his wife Betty & was able to enjoy a part of his retired years reconnecting with his brothers, old friends and making new ones. He loved music, dancing & gardening, all of which he had time to enjoy during those years. In the past few years of his illness, many times he was blessed to be in the company of a dear friend, Catherine Steele & she would play all of his favourite songs. Hearing Catherine play was the highlight of his week. The family would like to thank Dr. Blackie, who made numerous calls to our home, Dr. Culleton and staff of the Gander Cancer Center who were a tremendous support, the Rehab home program, name Debbie Bouzane (physio therapist) who worked very hard to help him achieve his many goals, Greg Banfield & the Palliative Care team for the wonderful caring support & direction, Majors' Anthony & Yvonne LeDrew, our very special friends Harry & Catherine Steele, Rex & Betty Primmer, Wendy Snook & many visits from Terry Chaffey. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one at Lakeside Homes, Gander on Thursday, November 3, 2016 Douglas Goodyear age 95 years of Lumsden. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Sadie Goodyear; wife Nellie Goodyear; sisters Laura, Doris and Phyllis. Predeceased by his wife Irene, son Robert, parents Maxwell and Valetta Hayward, brother Cluney and sister Jean. Left to mourn with fond memories are his two daughters Ann-Jeanette Holland (Brian), Danita Thomas (Monty), both of Gander, two brothers Clayton (Shirley) of Musgrave Harbour, Bernard (Lorna) of Port Elgin, ON, five sisters Annie Abbott (Newman) of Musgrave Harbour, Audrey Coombs of Toronto, ON, Joan Hayward of Toronto, ON, June Lew (Bing) of Toronto, ON, Peggy Wiseman (Wilbert) of Northport, Alabama, US, six grandchildren Tim (Jill), Sue-Ann (Ryan), Ryan (Alicia), Jonathon (Ashley), Matthew and Kristin. Passed peacefully away at her residence in Belleville, Ontario, Enid Mary Jones (nee Stirling) of St John's and Gander, NF, and Halifax, NS. Predeceased by her loving husband Marshall a year ago, Enid leaves to mourn son Rick and wife Deb, daughter Lesley and husband Dan, grandchildren Richard, Shelley (and Shawn), Marshall (and Laura), Julie (and Karl), Stirling, Lauren (and Drew), and 7 grandsons. Predeceased also by beloved brothers Bruce and Geoff, sisters-in-law Marjorie Jones Whiteoak and June Jones Locastro, Enid leaves behind her brother Rex Stirling (and Grace), sister-in-law Ruby Jones Yablon (and Red), and brother-in-law Bern.
She was a woman of many talents and interests who loved her family, her friends and life in general. It comforts us all now to think of Marsh and Enid reunited once more at the 19th, sitting with old friends, laughing, and telling yarns! Deeply loved, she will be forever held in our hearts.

Passed peacefully away at Strathcona Care Centre Sherwood Park, Alberta on Saturday, November 12, 2016 Gloria Mary Porter of Victoria Cove at the age of 91 years. Gloria Mary Porter was predeceased by her husband Raymond, Daughter Madeline Joyce, Sons Calvin and David, Granddaughter Heather. Leaving to mourn her death are: her six children Doreen Shelley (Edward), Wayne (Betty), Audrey Squires (David), Everett (Mary), Dennis (Sherry), Dean (Denise), Daughter in law Veronica Amendt and sister- in-law Annie Wheaton (Squires) She will always be fondly remembered by her ten grandchildren and eleven Great Grandchildren. Norman Power
, 81, of Gander (previously Ship Harbour), passed away on Friday, November 11, at James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander. Norman was predeceased by his parents Edward and Jane Ann Power, Brother Tom, Sister Mary, brother Bob, sister-in-law Gladys, and nephew Des. After Norman's parents died, he was fortunate to first live with Bob, Gladys, and their children. He was further blessed over the last 10 years to reside with his niece Tina Purcell, her husband Dan, and great niece Emelyn, who are left with fond and loving memories, also leaving to mourn: special nieces and nephews Ed (Dora), Karen (John), Kelly (Sara), Keith (Ellen), niece-in-law Brenda and great niece Stephanie (Zane). Brother Kevin (Jean), sisters Lillian (George), Nora (John), Blanche, sister-in-law Marion Tremblett, and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dianne (Hogan) Summers in Vancouver on November 07, 2016 at age 63. Predeceased by her father, James Adrian (Audrey) and sister-in-law, Virginia Hogan, Dianne leaves to mourn her mother, Susan Barbour, sisters, Catherine Hogan Safer (Andrew), Jennifer Hogan (Timothy), Chrys Hogan (David), Celeste Quinton (Dave) Jaime Fudge (Mike), and brothers, Peter Hogan (Kathleen), Don Hogan, Doug Hogan (Virginia, deceased), Darryl Hogan ( Danielle), and Philip Hogan (Ashley Anne). Dianne will be missed by nieces, Andreae (Mark), Jennifer, Virginia (Rod), Rachel (Dale), Laurel (Peter), Shannon, Lauren, Olivia, Michele (Jim), April (Philip), Avery, Delaney, and nephews, Adam, A.J, Dylan, and Sam, as well as her beloved great nieces and nephews, Bonnie, Charlie, Jude, Eleanor, Hayden, Sam, Mara, and Matthew Jon, and by her uncles and aunts, cousins, and many dear friends, especially Roberta Wells, Geraldine Maloney, Tina Prim, and Susan Stone. Cremation has taken place. Visitation with family at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, St. John's, December 28, 6pm - 9pm. Memorial service will be held at Caul's chapel on December 29, 3pm. No flowers by request. Donations may be made in Dianne's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association, and if you'd like to wear something bright (the way she always did), please do. Perhaps hum an old BeeGees song.
