O’MAHONY, Dr. Albert Thomas
Died suddenly at Dr.
G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Monday, October
22, 2007, Dr. Albert Thomas O’Mahony, aged 64 years. He
was predeceased by his father, Dr. Michael O’Mahony in 1974. Leaving
to mourn his loving wife, Donna of 36 years; sons, Michael and David
(Lynn Withers); daughter, Ashling; mother, Bridie; sister, Miriam (Michael
Toohey); nieces, Emma, Elaine and Freya; nephews, Michael and John. Also
leaving to mourn many, many friends and colleagues. Albert was born in
Ireland but came to Newfoundland in the early sixties. He moved to Clarenville
in 1969 where he practiced rural medicine up to his passing. When Albert
first came to Clarenville, he was the only physician in the community.
For a while he operated a clinic out of his home. Albert was a well know
doctor in Clarenville; the surround areas and throughout Newfoundland.
He was highly respected for always going above and beyond “the
call of duty” in his passion and commitment for patient care. Up
until the time of his passing, his patients could still depend on him
to make house visits. Visitation took place at Fewer’s Funeral
Home, Clarenville. Funeral Mass held on Friday, October 26th from Our
Lady of Fatima Parish, Clarenville with interment at Clarenville Interdenominational
Cemetery. Donations can be made to Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital or
the Heart and Stoke Foundation.
WATERMAN, Leah
Wife, friend and soul mate of the late
John Waterman of 67 years entered into Eternal Rest on Tuesday,
October 23, 2007 at Brookfield Hospital, aged 84. She has been a Christian for
almost 30 years and greatly appreciated what the Lord did for her. She,
with her husband, John will now dwell in the House of the Lord forever.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother,
sister and aunt. She was loved very much by all and will be profoundly
missed. She leaves behind one daughter, Elizabeth (William); five sons,
Claude (Yvonne), Woodbine (Eileen), Johnnie (Celest), Brian (Nina), Leo
(Betty); also 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild;
two sisters, Mae (Cluney) and Muriel (Isaac); two brothers, Gideon (Ella)
and Harry (Mildred); and two brothers-in-law, Gilbert Goodyear and Robert
Tucker. Also, predeceased by two sisters, Madeline Goodyear and Trixie
Tucker; and sister-in-law, Annie Spurrell. Leah’s Christian burial
Service was held at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Wareham on
Friday, October 26th with Rev. Wayne Short officiating. Interment followed
at the Anglican Church Cemetery, Wareham. Arrangements entrusted to the

Passed peacefully away at Brookfield Hospital on October 28,
2007, Lester Maxwell Vincent, age 83 years of Newtown, Bonavista Bay. Predeceased
by his parents, Eleazer and Priscilla Vincent; brother, Lewis; two sisters,
Nellie and Evelyn; brothers-in-law, Robert Windsor, Noah Best, Raymond
Hillier; mother and father-in-law, Kenneth and Christina Chaulk. Leaving
to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Violet; eight sons,
Gordon (Jane) of St. John’s, Perry (Shirley) of St. John’s,
Eric (Kim) of Strathroy, Ontario, Ken of Newtown, Jeff (Lisa) of Kelligrews,
Paul (Mickey) of Mount Pearl, Clyde (Jessica) of Musgrave Harbour, Calvin
(Bernadine) of St. John’s, one daughter; Gloria Lalonde (Serge)
of Houston, Texas, two brothers; Tom (Una) of Summerside and Bill (Marie)
of Newtown B. Bay; three sisters, Marion Short (Harvey) of St. John’s,
Winnie Chrisp (Ed MacAdam) of Scarborough, Ontario, Kathleen McMillan
(Charles) of Barrie, Ontario, 13 grandchildren and a large circle of
other relatives and many friends. Funeral service was held October 31st at the United Church, Newtown, B. Bay with Rev. Tim Bowman officiating.

Passed peacefully away at her residence at Valleyfield on
Tuesday, October 30, 2007, Rita Lillian Sturge, age
90 years. Predeceased by her parents, Robert and Blanche Wiseman; husband,
Percy; brothers, Wallace, Gerald and Allison. Leaving to mourn with
fond and loving memories are, nephew, Robert Hann whom she resided;
niece, Clara Brown (David) of Ajax, ON, brother, Neil Wiseman (Ruby)
of Scarborough, ON; two sisters, Myrtice Blacklar of Springdale, Dorothy
Wiseman (Mardon) of Robert’s
Arm; grandchildren, Brian Brown (Catherine) of Lindsey, ON, Jennifer
Brown of Ajax, On; great-grandchildren; Bradley and Madyson and several
other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral service
was held on November 2nd at the United church Valleyfield with Rev. George
Kean Officiating. Interment followed at the United Cemetery, Valleyfield.

October 31, 2007, Harold Winsor, age 79 years of Wesleyville.
Predeceased by his parents Edgar and Violet Winsor. Leaving to mourn

(Bruce) of Lumsden, Marie Winsor (Tom) of Wesleyville; grandchildren,
Jeffrey, David, Mark, Sarah, Janine, Alex, Jennifer, Heather and Stephen;
brother-in-law, Benjamin Ford of St. John’s;
and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation Thursday
10-12, 2-5, 7-9; Friday 10-12, 2-5, 7-9; Funeral service was held on
Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 2 p.m. from Jubilee United Church, Wesleyville
with Rev. George Kean officiating. Interment to follow at the United
