RALPH, Ivan J. -
Passed away suddenly at his home in Happy Adventure on October 1, 2008, Ivan Ralph, aged 65 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Nelson and Annie Sarah (dyke) Ralph and his sister, Jean Noseworthy. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Jane; son, Shiloh (Tara); grandchildren, Chandler, Darryn and Maggie, of Edmonton, AB; sisters, Ruby (Robert) Pelley, Gander and Sharon (Tony) Parsons of Sandy Cove; aunts, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. The funeral arrangements were entrusted to Squire's Funeral Home, Eastport and a celebration of Ivan's life was held on Sunday, October 5, 2008 at Holy Cross Anglican Church in Eastport. Flowers were gratefully accepted as well as donations to the Beaches Heritage Center or a charity of choice.

WHITE, Ronald -
Passed peacefully away on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at Golden Years Nursing Home, Cambridge, Ronald White, aged 81 years. Beloved husband of the late Sylvia White (nee Clarke) (1999). Dear father of Gary White and his wife, Darlene and Kim White and her friend, John Richardson, all of Cambridge and Shirley (Dwayne) Young of Newfoundland. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Kristen and Brittany Elliott and their father, Jim Elliott, Joshua (Emily), Nathan, Brianna, Elizabeth, Nichole, Marcel, Christina and Stefan and three great -grandchildren. Sadly missed by his brother, Gregory White and his sisters-in-law, Margaret White and Anne White, all of Newfoundland. Ron is predeceased by his parents, Simon and Mary White and two brothers, Gordon and John. Mr. White was born in St. Brendan's, Newfoundland and served in WWII in the Merchant Marines. Ronald will be joining his late wife in the family plot in Parklawn Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. CRANE, Allan J. -
Passed peacefully away on October 2, 2008 at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's, Allan J. Crane, age 55 years. Predeceased by his father, Wellman Crane and brother, Harvey Crane. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Maisie, son, Christopher (Wanda) of Mount Pearl; mother, Jean Harley; brother, Donald (Wavey) of Gander; sister, Alice (Lloyd) Hart of Gander; grandchildren, Mason and Ethan, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. KING, Gordon W. -
Passed away suddenly and peacefully in his home on Thursday, October 2, 2008, Gordon W. King, aged 59 years of Cocagne, NB and formerly of Moncton, NB. Born in Gander, NL, he was the son of Audrey (Edgar) King of Bay Roberts, NL and the late Hubert C. King (1998). Gordon was a member of the former Moncton Police  Department and retired as Staff Sgt. with the Codiac RCMP, with 33 years service. Besides serving in the Greater Moncton area, he also served in NewWestValley Detachment, NL. Gordon enjoyed travelling, bird watching, playing golf and tending his law and working in his garden. Besides his mother,  Gordon leaves to mourn his wife, Ann King of Cocagne, NB; sons, Gordon H. (Beth) of Bay Roberts, NL, Kevin M. of Moncton, NB; daughter, Jessica King (Carey); grandson, Justin Morais of Hay River, NWT; sister, Olive Ruby (Len) of Palmerston North, NZ; a large circle of nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives. Also, many, many friends in New Brunswick and Newfoundland, including colleagues from his years with Moncton City Police and the RCMP. In addition to his father, he was also predeceased by his brother, Hubert James (Jim) King (2007). Funeral service, Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (506-858-1995) took place on October 7th with Rev. John Pierce officiating. Reception followed the service. Passed peacefully away on October 3, 2008 at her residence in Gander, Diane Peckford, age 57 years. Predeceased by her parents, Harvey and Maisie Peckford, and sister, Viola. Passed away at on October 4, 2008 at the James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre, Gander, Edward Parsley (Ed), age 62. Predeceased by his parents, Bernard & Gertrude and his brother, Don. Passed peacefully away surrounded by her family on Monday, October, 6, 2008 at Brookfield Hospital, Flossie Stokes, age 81 years of Cape Freels. Predeceased by her parents, Cator and Alberta Stokes; husband, Lloyd; daughter, Elsie; sons, Hayward, Calvin; sisters, Melina Pickett, Eliza Rideout and brother, Charles Stokes. Passed away suddenly on Monday, October 6, 2008 at Roddicton, Mr. Dennis K. Abbott of Musgrave Harbour, aged 53 years. Predeceased by his parents, Wilfred and Emma Abbott; father-in-law, Leo Abbott; brother-in-law, Douglas Abbott and nephew, Jeffrey Hicks. Passed peacefully away , surrounded by his family on Thursday, October 9, 2008, at the James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre, Gander,  William James Warren of Glenwood, aged 76 years. Predeceased by his parents, Benjamin and Susie Warren of Glenwood; sister, Mary Warren and brother, Phillip Warren, also of Glenwood. Left to mourn his passing an appreciate his life is his wife, Irish; daughters, Carol Donahue (Sean) of Appleton, Paulette Warren of Hamilton, ON, Debra MacDonald (Aaron) of Cornwall, PEI; son, Berkley Warren (Carol) of Rocky Mountain House, AB and Wayne Francis (Lana) of fort St. John, BC; also his brother's children whom he raised, Curtis warren of Glenwood, Lavern (Bob) Warren (Catherine) of Ontario and Bonnie Warren of Glenwood; grandchildren, Paton Francis, Colleen Vaters, Aaron and Jordan Collis, Bethany and Benjamin Bysma, Stacey and Joshua MacDonald, Kaylee Warren, Phillip, Micheala, Mckensey and Katie Warren; sisters, Sadie MacIsaac of Grand Falls-Windsor and Rita Pritchett of Glenwood, three great -grandchildren and a very large number of nephews and nieces, co-workers and friends. Passed peacefully away on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at North Haven Manor in Lewisporte, Beatrice Gillingham, aged 92 years. Predeceased by her husband, Archibald Gillingham; sons, Aubrey, Harvey and Wallace; parents, Osreal and Bethria Fancey; brothers, Gerald, Claude, Howard, Alvin and Gordon. Passed away on Monday, October 13, 2008 at Lakeside Homes in Gander, Mrs. Meta Hayward of Musgrave Harbour, aged 86 years. Predeceased by her husband, Roland and three brothers, Wycliffe Mouland, Roland Mouland and Oliver Mouland. Passed away October 15, 2008, Terry Horlick, aged 62 of Gambo. Predeceased by his father, Cecil who passed away in 19879 and mother, Doris who passed away in 2007. Passed peacefully away on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at the James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre, Gander,  Victor Pippy, aged 87 years. Predeceased by his parents, Jonathan and Elizabeth; brother, Wilbur and sister, Mamie. Passed peacefully away surrounded by his family, Albert Gould, aged 93 years, of Torbay (formerly of Gander and Happy Adventure). Survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Ruth; daughters, Janice Paterson (Dave) of Ottawa, ON, Sharon Ryan (Rod) of Torbay, NL; sons, Robert (Ann) of London, ON, Wayne (Sheila) of Dartmouth, NS, John (Adele) of Puslinch, ON, Gary (Ann) of Edmonton, AB, Bruce (Laurie) of White Rock, BC, Derek (Marilyn) of St. John's, NL; 15 grandchildren and 3 great -grandchildren as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Albert was a longtime Esso Agent in Gander and Burin and is a 60 year member and past Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge. Funeral service took place at St. Nicholas' Anglican Church, Torbay.

HOUNSELL,  Verna -
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Verna Hounsell, aged 63 years of Pound Cove, announces her passing on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at Brookfield Hospital. Predeceased by her father, Lloyd Cooper; daughter, Lois Myra Hounsell; father and mother-in-law, Thomas and Mary Hounsell and brother-in-law, Franklyn Noble. Left to mourn with beautiful and loving memories are her husband, Solomon; sons, Keith of Ontario, Shane (LeeAnn) of Valleyfield; daughters, Tracey Hounsell (Nelson Burry) of Wesleyville, Denise of Pound Cove; mother, Myra Cooper of St. John's; sisters, Marjorie Noble of Corner Brook, Joy (William) Barron) of St. John's; grandchildren, Liam and Alexa Hounsell; honorary grandson, Andrew Abbott and a large circle of other relatives and many friends. Passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at Lakeside Homes, Gander, Mrs. Irene Abbott of Musgrave Harbour, aged 73 years. Predeceased by her parents, Hubert and Esther Cuff; grandson, Gary, three brothers, Hughie, Norman and Howard. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her four sons, Lloyd (Dale), Ford (Bea), Ray (Judy) and Calvin (Linda), all of Musgrave Harbour and one daughter, Eunice Snow (Gary) of Musgrave Harbour; seven grandchildren, Lisa, Trent, Kent, Travis, Andrews, Trina and Stephanie; five great -grandchildren, Joe, Alyssa, Nikita, Isaac and Kaiden and also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place on Sunday, November 2nd from the Salvation Army  Citadel in Musgave Harbour. Interment followed from the Salvation Army Cemetery in Musgrave Harbour with Majors Barry and Donna Anstey officiating.
