Burin Peninsula Obituaries

The area includes from Terrenceville on down to Grand Bank, over to Lamaline, St. Lawrence, Burin, Marystown and down the Peninsula again to Boat Harbour. All the communities are not named but serves the whole of the Peninsula.

Date of Death: February 03, 2009 Age: 64

Passed peacefully away at her residence, Burin Bay Arm on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 Marilyn Beazley of Burin Bay Arm in her 64th year. Leaving to mourn husband James Beazley of Burin Bay Arm; mother Dorothy Brewer; sons Terry Beazley and wife June of Killarney, MB and David Beazley and wife Pauline of Epworth; daughter Lona Beazley and wife Jes Foote of Winnipeg, MB; sister Judy and husband Ches Kirby; brothers Larry Brewer and wife Monnie and Don Brewer and wife Brenda plus a large circle of other family and friends. Predeceased by father Dave Brewer and daughter Shawna Lynn. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Epworth United Cemetery Fund. Passed peacefully away on February 18, 2009, at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center, John Douglas of Grand Bank in his 92nd year. Predeceased by parents George and Elizabeth Douglas, wife Blanche, and brothers Leslie and Fred. Leaving to mourn: sons Stephen (Gloria) of Garnish, and Fred (Sandra) of CBS, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two sisters Blanche (Cecil) Pike of South Dildo, and Georgie Maud Thorne of St. John's, sisters-in-law Ada Douglas of Grand Bank, Martha Douglas of St. John's, and Irene Dominaux of Fortune; special home care workers Judy, Betty and Michelle. Also a circle of other relatives and friends. Remains resting at Warren's Funeral Home Grand Bank on Thursday from 2pm - 5pm; 7pm - 9pm, and on Friday from 10am - 12noon; 2pm - 5pm; 7pm - 9pm. Funeral service will take place on Saturday at 2pm from Grand Bank United Church. Interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery Grand Bank. Predeceased by husband Charles, father and mother, Walter and Elizabeth Patten, great grandson Ryan Follett, sister Jane Lake, sister and brother-in-law Effie and Pierce Elliott, sister-in-law Freda Woolridge, brothers-in-law Harold Seaton, Albert Follett, Frazer Follett, Wilfred Follett and Munroe Thistle, nephews Gary Follett and Wilfred Follett (Jr). Leaving to morn their loss, son George (Sharon), son Frank (Patricia) daughter Joan Miller (Wilfred), son Harold (Maxine) son Charlie (friend Sherry), sister Mary, brother Frank (Jessie), sister Bessie Combden (George), brother-in-law Hedley Lake, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Blanche and Harvey Banfield, brother-in-law Freeman Woolridge, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Evelyn Follett, sisters-in-law Gwen Follett, Mildred Thistle and Hattie Follett. Also, passed peacefully away on Feb. 25, 2009 at York View Life Centre, Toronto, ON, Clotilda Frances Younge (Hanrahan), formerly of Marystown. Leaving to mourn daughters Martha (Rex), Lorena (Arch), Jackie (Larry), Isabel (David), and sons Albert (Wanda), and Raymond (Manuella); grandchildren Corey and Stacey Hickey, Kerry Senior, Melissa Amanda, and Ashley Younge, David Michael Murphy, Robert & Jennifer Walton, Kayla Madeline & Valerie Younge; Great Grandchildren Alicia and Eric Sussi, and Darcy Hickey.
