and down the Peninsula again to Boat Harbour. All the communities are not named but serves the whole of the Peninsula.

 

BAKER, Veronica
(June 25, 1942 - February 20, 2014)

It is with great sadness the family of Veronica Baker of Harbour Mille announces her passing at her home on February 20, 2014, at the age of 71 years. Leaving to mourn sons Scott (Marlene) of Harbour Mille and Stuart (Donna) of Corner Brook; daughter Esther Farrell (Mike) of Moncton, NB; 6 grandchildren plus a large circle of other family and friends. Resting at Serenity Funeral Home, Burin, Friday and Saturday from 1-4 PM. Memorial Service to take place from St. Mary's Anglican Church, Harbour Mille at a time and date to be announced. BRUSHETT, JAMES JOSEPH
(1949-2014)

Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, in the presence of his loving family, on Saturday, February 8, 2014, JAMES JOSEPH BRUSHETT, of Marystown, at the age of 64. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories sisters Alice Farrell (Ernest) of Mooring Cove, Elizabeth Pidgeon (John Joe) of Marystown, Kathleen Dober (Howard) of Marystown, Beatrice Barry (Kenneth) of Centerville, ON and adopted sister Debbie Harris (Edward) of Hant's Harbour, brother-in-law Patrick Farrell, sister-in-law Bridget Brake; plus a large number of nieces, nephews and special friends. He was predeceased by his parents James Joseph and Sarah Ann Brushett, sisters Selena Farrell and Julia Brake, brother Charles Brake, nephew Wayne Farrell, nieces Ann Marie Farrell and Alice Brake, brother-in-law George Brake. Resting and visitation will take place from Wiseman's Funeral Home in Marystown, on Monday, February 10th, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, February 11th, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Marystown, on Wednesday, February 11th, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery in Marystown. Leaving to mourn wife Beryl, sons Calvin Inkpen (Veronica) of Lewin's Cove, Terry Inkpen (Patsy) of Lewin's Cove, Learo Inkpen (Theresa) of Burin and Tony Inkpen of Lewin's Cove; daughters Karen Mayo (Reg) of Lewin's Cove, Vivian Courage (Howard) of Burin, Marilyn Tobin (George) of Burin and Burdetta Shea (Terry) of Marystown; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brothers Theodore Inkpen, Gilbert Inkpen (Linda), Levi Inkpen (Shirley) and Derek Inkpen (Elizabeth); Helen Hollett, Judy Wiscombe, Bernice Colbourne, Jackie Davis, Linda Inkpen, Sandra Bennett (Wallace), Agnes Kane (Michael) and Vera Inkpen plus a large circle of other family and friends. KEEPING, Chesley Boyd
(September 13, 1924 - February 17, 2014)

Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center on Monday February 17, 2014 Chesley Keeping of Grand Bank in his 89th year. Predeceased by parents George and Violet keeping, children Chesley and Lloyd, sisters Bertha Follett, Wanda Follett, and Charlotte Follett. Leaving to mourn; wife Ethel of 65 years. Sons Roy (Betty), Bert (Ruth), Boyde (Maureen), Dennis (Amanda), and daughter Elizabeth (Max). Seven grandchildren; Colin, Cameron, Candace, Brandon, Monica, Mya, and Madilynn. Four great grandchildren; Beau, Shane, Hannah, and Jared. Special niece Lorraine McDougall, and special nephew Ronnie Knapp. Plus a large circle of other relatives and friends. Remains resting at Warren's Funeral Home Grand Bank on Tuesday February 18th 2 pm-4 pm (Family Only) public visitation 7 pm-9 pm, and on Wednesday and Thursday from 2 pm-4 pm and 7 pm-9 pm. Funeral service will take place on Friday February 21st at 2 pm from the Grand Bank United Church. Interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery. No Flowers or donations by request of the family. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Warren's Funeral Home Grand Bank.

MARSHALL, ESTHER DEBORAH
(1957-2014)

Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, on Friday, February 7, 2014, Esther Deborah Marshall (Baker), of Little Bay East, in her 56th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are husband Wilson, sister Shirley (Jamie Flores) of Brampton, ON and Linda (Thomas Winsor) of Little Harbour East, brothers Howard Baker (Mazie) of Pool's Cove, Eric Baker (Yvonne) of Little Bay East, Leroy Baker of Harbour Mille, Edward Baker (Kim) of Little Bay East and Terrence Baker (Pauline) of St. Bernard's; 10 nieces, 3 nephews, special Aunt Esther and a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Edward and Mary Baker and sister-in-law Judy. Resting and visitation will take place from Salem United Church in Little Bay East, on Saturday, February 8th, beginning at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 9th, all day and Monday, February 10th, all day. (January 11, 1932 - February 10, 2014)

It is with great sadness the family of Caroline Martin of Burin announces her passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center February 10, 2014 at the age of 82 years. Leaving to mourn son Wayne Dodge (Daphne) of Burin; grandsons Tommy (Heather) of Gypsum, Colorado and Tim of St. John's; great grandchildren Kennedie and Quade; 3 stepsons; sisters Mabel Hardiman (Ray) of Grand le pierre, Ester Stone of Grand le pierre and Sarah Dyke (Carl) of Gander plus a large circle of other family and friends. Predeceased by husbands Thomas Dodge and Harold Martin; brother John Barnes and sister Rebecca Lace. Funeral Service will take place at a later time.

MATTHEWS, Garold
(July 24, 1943- February 17, 2014)

It is with great sadness the family of Garold Matthews of Burin announces his passing at the Health Science Centre on February 17, 2014, at the age of 70 years. Leaving to mourn wife Mercedes, sons Shawn (Rosella) and Calvin (Lindsay); daughter Karolyn ; mother-in-law Hannah Power; grandchildren Curtis, Jennifer, Jared, Mackenzie and Rory; brothers Ron (Lis), Lesley, Eugene (Melita); sisters Betty and Lorna plus a large circle of other family and friends. Predeceased by parents Gertie and Roland Matthews and sister Ethel. Cremation has taken place. Visitation to take place Wednesday, February 19th from 10 AM to 9 PM. Memorial Service to take place from Serenity Chapel Thursday, February 20th at 11 AM.

(January 7, 1935-February 19, 2014)

Leaving to mourn son Ray (Beatrice, mother of his children), daughter Jean (Wallace) of Creston; grandchildren Elaine (Junior), Paul (Karen), Tori and Tanner; great grandchildren Joshua, Cody, Paula, Jake, Ben and Noah; sisters Stella Farwell, Maisie Moulton and Mamie Sainsbury plus a large circle of other family and friends. Passed suddenly away, at home on Saturday, February 8, 2014, CHAD ALJE MITCHELL, age 30 years. Predeceased by her husband John; sisters Jessie, Ivy, and Christie; and brothers Lewis, Bert, Reg, and Max. Left to celebrate her life are her children Cyrus (Mary), Carolyn (Randell Edwards), and Frank (Cathy); her sisters Joyce, Anna, and Vera; her brothers Robert, Leo, Tom, Lowell, Forsey, and Edwin; her sister-in-law Bernice; her grandchildren John, Paul, Stephen, Cathy, Renée, Clinton, David, Grant, and Laura; her great-grandchildren Maggie, Thomas, Harry, James, Ella, Annabelle, Vivian, and Meika; as well as a large circle of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
