AUGUSTUS, Terry
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Augustus of Marystown at Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on July 1, 2023 at the age of 67 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his partner Patsy Francis; sons Kyle (Amanda) of Toronto and Michael (Keisha) of Marystown; granddaughter Eva Marie and sister Sharon Noseworthy plus many other friends. Predeceased by wife Julia and parents Ronald and Netta. Terry was born in the small town of Ramea and moved to Burin to complete his last year of school. To better know who Terry was you had to have known him. The first day he went to school in Burin he wore faded jeans and his black leather vest with no shirt and his hair was down pass his shoulders. The principal's first response was down here we wear shirts. This is how Terry loved to be known, he was a rebel before it was cool to be. Terry had his own style and was proud to wear his leathers. He was a member of the Heritage Riders group and loved every moment he spent with his buddies. Terry spent 20 years of his career as a Constable in the RNC then with the liquor board corporation and he was also the sheriff for the territory of Nunavut as well as the chief of municipal enforcement for the city of Iqaluit. After his retirement he spent most of his time riding his beloved Harley. His famous quote to say was "There's two kinds of people in the world, those that ride a Harley and those that wish they did." His second love was for the Toronto Maple Leaf's and every year was the year they were going to win the cup, he never gave up on them a true fan right to the end. If you were Terry's friend he had your back and was always there to give a helping hand. Terry will be missed by his family and all his riding buddies. He's now in his Biker Heaven with a Free Road, Full Tank, and Full Throttle. Ride Free Terry with the wind at your back. You will be missed by us all.
