BOLAND, CARMEL
1926-2016

It is with great sadness that the family of the late CARMEL BOLAND of Lamaline announces her passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin on Friday, June 17th, at the age of 89. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are sons, Alexander (Edna) of Fortune, Eric (Sharon) of Point May, Richard of Lamaline, Gerard (Theresa) of Lamaline, Charles (Carolyn) of Lamaline and Dion (Katrina) of Lamaline; daughters, Theresa (Randell Coady) of Fermuse, Sylvia Letournel of Fortune, Sarah (Anthony Pittman) of Fortune, Sheila (Patrick Drake) of Marystown, Marion (Terry Ackinson) of Stellarton, NS, Dianne (Lester Martin) of Lamaline and Violet (Paul Daley) of Oshawa, ON; sisters, Madeline Clarke and Betty Loder of Little St. Lawrence; 34 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; plus a large circle of relatives and friends. DUCEY, FRANK W.J.
Surrounded by his family, Frank W.J. Ducey passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on March 6, 1967 in Marystown, NL, he was the son of Pearl (Green) Stapleton, the late Francis Ducey, and stepfather, John J. Stapleton. Frank moved from Halifax to Saint John a year and a half ago, where he was an industrial electrician for DND. Frank's passions included his family, making excellent wood workings, playing darts, running, traveling, photography and enjoying good food. Frank will be missed by his loving wife, Karen Rees-Ducey; brothers, Cory Ducey and his wife, Stacey of Saint John, NB and Shane Stapleton and his wife, Barbara of Marystown; mother and father-in-law, Irene and Maurice Rees; special sister and brother-in-law, Kelly and Greg Cross; special aunts, Elaine (Lewis), Lillian (Ray), Viola (Raymond), Alice (Cyril), Helen (Fred), Evelyn (Austin) & Sheila (Ed); special uncle, Eli (Emma); nieces, Haley Cross, Jaiden Ducey & Lilah Stapleton; nephews, Eric Merzetti, Alan Cross, Aiden Hartt and Jude Stapleton and a large loving extended family. Predeceased by husband; Norman Fizzard, parents; Elsie and George Hardiman, 1 sister; Annie Marshall, and 1 brother; Alpheaus Hardiman. Leaving to mourn 3 sisters; Meta, Betty, and Shirley (Wilfred), 1 brother; John. Nieces and Nephews plus a large circle of other relatives and friends. Passed away suddenly, at South East Bight, NL, on Thursday, June 9, 2016, THOMAS G. FRANCIS of Garnish, in his 50th year. Leaving to mourn his wife Gwen, son David (Crystal), step son Branden Clancy (Samantha Warren), step daughters Amanda Clancy (Edward), Christel Regular; grandchildren Brady Regular, Erica, Bradley, Chianne, Matthew, Mackenzie, and Brady Brushett, parents Melvin and Dorothy Francis, Garnish, sister Annie Davidson (Danny), Florida, niece Sarah, and nephews Kyle and Aiden; several uncles, aunts, and a large circle of relatives and friends. Thomas is predeceased by his grandparents and several uncles and aunts. As per Tom's wishes, cremation will take place. ROCHE, PATRICK
Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Center, St. John's Nl on June 2, 2016 in his 78th year Patrick Roche of Burin. Patrick was born on December 29, 1937, Patrick moved to Burin in 1958 to Begin work as radio operator with the federal ministry of transport. Patrick retired from the Canadian Coast Guard in 1993. Predeceased by Wife Lynette, and Infant sons, daughter Anne, parents Philip and Rita Cheeseman, brother Philip Cheeseman, sister Frances Addis and brothers-in-law Willem Tjepkema and Bruce Chrislett. Leaving to Celebrete his life are daughters Suzanne, Jacqueline, son-in-law Craig, grandsons Ryan and Michael and sisters Selina Crislett and Mary Tjepkema plus many cousins, nieces, nephews, colleagues and friends in Canada and USA. The family will be receiving friends at Serenity Funeral Home, Burin on Saturday June 4th from 2-7 PM and Sunday June 5th from 2-9PM. Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, June 6 at 10AM at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Burin with interment following at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Penney's Pond. Passed away at Blue Crest Nursing Home, Grand Bank on Saturday June 18, 2016 Jean Rogers of Creston South at the age of 87 years. Leaving to mourn sons Calvin (Gail) and Bruce (Judy) both of Creston South; grandchildren Craig, Sonya, Justin, April; great grandchildren Parker, Christine, Brooklyn;sister Elsie Wiscombe (Frank); special friends Jan Dale and Elizabeth plus a large circle of other family and friends. Predeceased by Parents Bertram and Elizabeth Mayo, husband Walter Rogers; brother Harold Mayo; sister-in-law Marina Mayo. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Bud Whittle of St. Bernard's announces his passing at St. Bernard's on Saturday, June 18th, 2016 at the age of 65. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are wife Beatrice of 45 years; sons David (Lorrie) of Fort McMurray, AB, Perry (Trina) of Slave Lake, AB, and Brad (Pamela) of Slave Lake, AB; daughters Trina (Dion) Mitchell of Bay L'Argent, and Keshia Whittle (Tony Thornhill) of St. Bernard's; sisters Mary (Richard) Slaney of New Brunswick, Claire Rose (Kenny Stewart) of New Brunswick, Christina (Albert) Kelloway of Carbonear, Madonna Foote (Dan) of Marystown, Rita (Carl) Pardy of Marystown, Shirley (Wilson) Foote of Marystown, and Marina (Gary) Porter of St. John's; brothers Bill (Helen) Gould of Swift Current, Edwin (Rose) Whittle of St. Bernard's, Verno (Ruby) Whittle of Marystown, and Anthony (Beverly) Whittle of St. Bernard's; 7 grandchildren Tymika, Kyle, Courtney, Isabella, Nathan, Jacob and Ella; Daddy's girls Daisy & Bella; plus a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Edwin & Martha Whittle, sister Theresa Cox, brother-in-law Don Rose and nephew David Slaney. The family will be receiving visitors at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in St. Bernard's on Tuesday, June 21st beginning at 7:00 p.m., and Wednesday, June 22nd all day. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in St. Bernard's on Thursday, June 23rd, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation will follow.
