Charles E Billard
, 68, 9B Gillard Street, died Wednesday at the General Hospital. A native of Newfoundland, he resided here for the past 45 years. He was the son of the late George and Winnifred Billard. Mr Billard was employed as a Fisherman. He was a member of St Mary's Anglican Church and while in Newfoundland he was a member of the Loyal Orange Lodge.Besides his wife the former Blanche Pink, he is survived by one son Ivan, Baddeck. Brothers, Matthew, Mulgrave; Gabriel, London Ontario; Samuel, Sydney River; George, Town and a sister Mary Mrs William Moulton Town. Two sisters Edna Mrs Harvey Lassanine and Ida predeceased him . The body rests at Pattons Funeral Home , 62 York Street and the funeral will be held at 2pm Friday at St Mary's Church with interment to follow at Forrest Haven Memorial Gardens Sydney Glace BayHighway and Rev Gordon Pyke will officiate.

, 87, of Park Road, Bras d'Or died Friday morning at Harbourview Hospital. Born in Newfoundland, she was the former Cecilia Ryan, daughter of the late William and Julie Ryan. A member of the United Church, Mrs Osmond is survived by her husband Alex, four daughters and five sons. The daughters are :(Minnie) Mrs Dan MacDougall, Sydney Mines; (Bessie) Mrs Charles Hotte, (Lillian) Mrs Gus Long, and (Daisy) Mrs Andrew MacMillian all in Ontario.The sons are: Loderick, Florence; George, Sydney Mines; Fred, Park Road, Bras d'Or and Albert and William both in Ontario. She is survived by a sister (Mary) Mrs John Pike and a brother William both in Ontario. The body rests at Fillmore and Whitman Funeral Home Sydney Mines. Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 pm at Carmen United Church, Sydney Mines with interment in Lakeside Cemetery
