Obituary-Published Cape Breton Post, Monday, January 28, 1985
John L. Hiscott, 85; Northside Community Guest Home, formerly of George St., North Sydney died Monday, January 28 at the Northside General Hospital. Born at St. John's, Newfoundland, he was a son of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Meaney) Hiscott. Until his retirement several years ago he was manager of the North Sydney Credit Union. Mr. Hiscott was a member of Santa Maria Council K.O.C. Sydney Mines, a fourth degree member of Father William B. MacLeod Assembly, K.O.C. and a member of St. Joseph's Church.

Surviving are his wife the former Annie Crocker, one brother, Peter, North Sydney, three sisters Mrs. Marie Patry, North Sydney, Mrs. Mary Young, Framingham, Mass., and Helen, Mrs. Andrew MacInnis, Coxheath. He was predeceased by brothers Michael and James, and a sister, Pauline. The body will rest at W.J. Dooley Funeral Home today after 7 p.m. Funeral arrangements to be announced.
