89, Sydney passed away Tuesday July 20, 2004 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Avondale, Nfld., she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Anastasia (Mason) Mason. Surviving are daughters, Cora Sheppard, Sydney; Elizabeth (Dougals) Ross, Sydney Forks; Violet (Kenneth) Butler, Timberlea; Lillian Bishop, St. Thomas, Ont.; Phyllis (Leonard) MacMullin, London, Ont.; brothers, Wallace (Patricia) Tracis, Halifax; Gideon (Lunda) Travis, Kentville, NS; Donald (Elaine) Travis, London, Ont.; Wayne (Lucy Giroux) Travers, Centreville, Gideon's children, Ina (George) Thorne, Ont.; William's children, Normam (Donna)Bradbury, New York; Doreen Young, New Brunswick; Billy Bradbury, Ontario; several grandchildren; great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Annie was predeceased by her first husband Gideon Travers and second husband William Bradbury, sons Gerald, Maxwell and daughter Olive. Visitation will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel, Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. with a funeral service Friday at the Salvation Army Church, Friday at 11 am. with interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.


HENNICK, Martha (nee Lillington)

Hennick, Martha nee Lillington
, Hamilton, Ont passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton, Ont, July 17, 2004 at the age of 84 years. Beloved wife of Joseph Rudolph of Sydney, devoted mother of John (Helga); Joan (Alex) MacKinnon; Tom (Barb); Wayne (Marge); Linda; Rick; Darlene (Max) Carter; Brenda Pittman and Randy (Wendy). She was predeceased by a son Stuart; infant daughter Deborah; and grandson Jason Richard. She is survived by daughter in law Wendy; 84 grandchildren; 84 grandchildren and great grandchildren, dear sister of Isreal Lillington of Newfoundland and Dolly Stansbury of Brantford. A celebration of Martha's life will be held in Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 621 King St. West Kitchener, Monday at 6pm. with a reception to follow.
This was my aunt and she was born in Port aux Basques, Newfoundland (Ivy)


MACDONALD, TERESA MARGARET “Tess”    88

It is with deep sadness that the family of Teresa Margaret “Tess" MacDonald announce her passing on July 27, 2004, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Searston, Nfld., she was the daughter of the late John Alexander and Catherine Jane (Downey) Hynes. She was a devoted wife and loving mother to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Teresa was an active member of Mount Carmel Parish, where she was dedicated to her work with the St. Anne's Society and greatly enjoyed her volunteer participation in the Joy Program. She was an avid seamstress and shared this creative passion through teaching night classes with the community schools program. She had an enthusiastic love of life and will be greatly missed by those whose lives she touched with her kindness and generosity.

She is survived by two sons, Glen (Kaye), Dartmouth, N.S., Kevin (Anita), Coxheath, N.S.; two daughters, Eileen (Sonny) Snell, Pidgeon Lake, Ont., Karen Ann (John) MacKinnon, Lower Sackville, N.S..; one sister, Patricia Sheilds, Victoria B.C.; two brothers, Leonard, Searston, Nfld., Bernard, Oromocto, N.B.; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, William 'Billy', sisters, Mary-Stella, Eileen and Dorothy, brothers, Leo, Gerard and James and a grandson, Anthony 'Tony' Snell. Visitation will be held Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At V.J. McGillivrary Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. Funeral mass will be held at Mount Carmel Church, New Waterford, Saturday, July 31, 2004, at 11 a.m.. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Reception to follow in the Carmel Centre. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or to a charity of one's choice. On-line condolences may be sent to basilr@vjmcgillvrary.com
