Olive Maria Billard, 91, of Sydney, passed away Saturday, March
22, 2008, at the Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility, Sydney. Born in Lally
Cove, N.L., she was the daughter of the late Jabez and Sarah
Keeping. She is survived by a sister, Mary Courage, St. John's, N.L.,
and sadly missed by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased
by her husband, Findley Billard, sister, Rose, brothers, James and Theodore.
There will be no visitation. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everest,
Mass., next to her loving husband, Findley, as per her request. Funeral
arrangements under the direction of T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel.

Maxwell 'Max' Keeping, 66, of Mulgrave, passed away peacefully at home,
Saturday, March 1, 2008, with his family by his side. Born June 22, 1941,
in Boxey, Fortune Bay, N.L., he was a son of the late Sylvia Ann (Blagdon)
and Aaron Keeping. Max was a fisherman all his life right up until his
death. He enjoyed playing darts, cards, ice fishing, trout fishing and
hunting. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 44 years, Diane
(Skinner); daughters, Valerie (Mike) Hadley, Maxine (Floyd) England,
both of Mulgrave, and Lori (Blenus) Gale, Sydney; sons, Darren (Robin)
and Brian, both of Mulgrave; grandchildren, Jillian, Holly, Nicholas,
Emma, Katlin, Leah, Chloe, Abbey, Avery, Dylan, Parker; sister, Kay Carter,
Port aux Basques, N.L.; sister-in-law, Eleanor Keeping, East Jeddore;
several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Selena, Alice
and brother, Simeon. Visitation was held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Mulgrave
and Area Resting Place, Mulgrave. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m.
today (Monday) in St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Mulgrave with Rev.
Susan Best officiating, assisted by Fr. Robert McNeil. Cremation to follow.
Donations in Maxwell's memory may be made to Palliative Care, the SPCA
or a charity of one's choice. The family would like to thank Dr. Gallivan,
Dr. Jensen, Dr. McKenzie and nurse, Heather Brander for their excellent
care of Max. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of
