age 91

It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Jessie Green, aka 'Nanny Green', age 91 on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Mahone Nursing Home in Mahone Bay. Although Newfoundland was home, she was a long-time resident of North Sydney, until she and her husband Enos moved to Bridgewater in February of 2012. ISAJENKO, Terry Allan
Published: April 06, 2021

It is with shattered hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Terry Allan Isajenko on Thursday, April 1, 2021, with his loving wife by his side. Born November 9, 1969, in CBS, NL, he was the son of the late Allan and Dorothy Fagan. A HABS fan, Terry loved hockey. He especially enjoyed watching the games with his special nephew, Allan Fagan. Terry lived life to the fullest. An avid hiker, he was always up for the next adventure. Much of his free time was spent exploring the East Coast Trail in Newfoundland with his wife and fur babies, Chico and Babushka. Terry was an animal lover and was always doing random acts of kindness for any creature. He will now be reunited with his boy, Chico, who was like his son.

Terry is survived by his wife and best friend, Vicki and children, Jessica, Clayton and Colton. Thank you to the staff of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, especially Unit 4B, as well as his sons, Clay and Cole for their compassionate care. A private memorial service will take place at a later date. Terry was a very dedicated contributor to the SPCA, therefore, memorials to the SPCA in his memory, would be appreciated. Words of comfort can be sent to the family at www.sydneymemorialchapel.ca or e-mailed to sydneymemorialchapel@ns.sympatico.ca
This is only temporary. We will be adventuring together in our forever sequel.

OZON, Joseph Prosper
Published: April 06, 2021

We regret to announce the passing of Joseph (Joe) Prosper Ozon on Friday, 2 April, just two weeks shy of his 93rd birthday. He is survived by his children, Mary, Andre (Heather), Annette (Mike) MacEachern, and Sue, his grandson, Andrew; brother Eugene (Jane) Ozon, and many nieces and nephews, by whom he was much beloved. He was predeceased by his wife, Marg; by his parents, Beatrice and Louis Ozon; and by his sisters, Laura Taaffe and Marguerite Ozon, and brothers, Edward and Robert.

Born in St. George's, Newfoundland, to Beatrice and Louis Ozon, Joe spent his younger years in St. George's, Newfoundland and in St. Pierre et Miquelon, the home of the Ozons. Both Newfoundland and St. Pierre gave Joe a foundation built on the importance of family, devotion to God, a love of the good things in life, and the love of hearing and/or telling a great story. He was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Montreal Canadiens, and loved golfing. He was especially proud of his only grandson, Andrew.

As a young man, Joe worked for Canada Customs. After starting out in Corner Brook, he was stationed in Gander dealing with transatlantic flights, and later he worked on the Ernest Harmon US Air Force Base in Stephenville, NL, where he met Margaret Delaney, whom he married in 1957. Joe and Marg moved to Sydney in 1970, raising their family in the South End. They had 60 happy years together until Marg's passing in 2018.

Thank you to all the doctors and nurses who provided such good care to Joe over the years. Donations in Joe's memory can be made to a charity of your choice. "Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand." A private family funeral will be held. For those wishing to attend virtually, the service will be livestreamed via TW Curry's Facebook Page starting at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.twcurry.com   Interment will take place in Resurrection Cemetery.
