Leaving to mourn his wife Valda (Cluney); two brothers: Peter and Herbert; two sisters: Mrs. Florence Rumsey and Mrs. Doris Robson; his much loved pets (especially his dog Sammy); and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 1081 Topsail Road, Mount Pearl from 7-9 p.m. Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. HISCOCK, Harold - World War II Veteran, 166th Newfoundland Regiment, formerly of Winterton, T.B. Passed peacefully away after a courageous battle with Cancer at the Palliative Care Unit, St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, on Monday, March 5th, 1990, aged 76 years. Left with fond and loving memories, wife Hilda; two sons: Donald and wife Elizabeth, Charles and wife Mary; two daughters: Maizie and husband Irving Letto, Ann and husband Phillip Daniel; eight grandchildren; two brothers: Joshua and Jacob; also a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell Memorial Chapel, Freshwater Road. HISCOCK, Katherine (Katie) Anne Gill (nee Blackmore) - Passed peacefully away on September 6, 1992, at Greenspond, formerly of Pinchard's Island. Leaving to mourn her loving husband Robert Hiscock; two step-sons: Abe and wife Elsie of Glovertown, Fred and wife Carol of Gander; six step-grandchildren. Forever missed by sisters Sybil Sullivan of Long Pond and Winnie (Mrs. Rex Saint) of Musgravetown and Elsie (Mrs. Walter Chaulk) of Deer Lake; sister-in-law Sybil Blackmore of Mount Pearl and brother-in-law Bill Hiscock of Greenspond. HISCOCK, Mary T. (nee Rahal) - Passed peacefully away at her residence in Paradise on March 14th, 1993, in her 84th year. Leaving to mourn her loving husband Ronald F., son Edward Rahal and wife Dorothy, daughter-in-law Edith Rahal, four grandchildren: Ellen and husband David, Vickie, Theresa and husband Horace and Todd, six great-grandchildren, niece Sister Marie Roche, nephew Nicholas Roche and special friend Mrs. Nellie Gosse. HISCOCK, Merab - Passed peacefully away at the Interfaith Home, Carbonear on Saturday, October 28, 1989, of Hearts Delight, Trinity Bay, age 88 years. Left with very special memories: son James and wife Lorraine, three grandchildren: Robert and wife Donna, Hearts Delight; Jeannie, Calgary; Randy and wife Jackie, also of Calgary. Three great-grandchildren, Alison, Heather and Eric. A large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Rested at St. Matthews Church Hall, Islington. Born in St. John's, he is the son of Edward and Elsie (White) Hynes, St. John's. He was employed with the Canadian Armed Services as a Fire Controlman. He is survived by his wife the former Deborah LeGrow; three sons: Dwane, Charles and Michael all at home; one sister Wanda (Mrs. Greg Whalen), Bauline; father and mother-in-law, Charles and Ruth LeGrow, Bauline; maternal grandfather Mr. George White, Glovertown. Predeceased by maternal grandmother Jessie White (Oakley), paternal grandparents William and Annie (Walsh) Hynes. Remains resting at Carnell's Funeral Home on Friday, February 15th. 7-9 p.m. and Saturday February 16th. 2-4 p.m. and 709 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 17th.
