The family of the Late Mrs. Alice Blagdon, Coomb's Cove, sadly acknowledges her passing on Sunday, August 22, 2010, at the Connaigre Peninsula Health Care Center in Harbour Breton, at the age of 83 years. She leaves to mourn her loving family; daughters, Frances (Ross Learning) at St. John's and Loretta at Harbour Breton; sons, Murdock (Marion) at Coomb's Cove, Newman (Mary) at Harbour Breton, Eddie (Peggy) at Grand Falls-Windsor and stepson, Hubert, at Coomb's Cove; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren; brother, Lenus Lawrence (Annie) ; sisters, Joan Sheppard (Harold) and Velma Scott; sisters in law, Sadie, Gladys, Polly Jo and Ruth Strowbridge; brothers in law, Harvey Blagdon (Ethel) and Stephen Blagdon plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband, Edward; daughter in law, Elizabeth; brothers, Garfield, Joseph and Thomas; a number of sisters and brothers in law and other relatives. Funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 25, at 2:00 pm from Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Coomb's Cove with Rev. Mildred Tobin officiating. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rosaleen Collier announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on Wednesday August 25, 2010 at the age of 93. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Bill (Roseabel), Head of Bay d'Espoir, NL, Monica (Clayton Willcott), St. Alban's, NL, Philomena (Everett Flight), Brampton, ON, Mary (Dave Willcott), St. Alban's, NL, Agatha (Glen Forbes), Mount Pearl, NL, Garfield, Mount Pearl, NL, and Regina, Carmelite House, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother: Philip Collier, St. Alban's, NL; as well as a large circle of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband: Rlaph; sons: Christopher & Joachim (infant); great-grandson: Ethan Flight; brothers: Hubert, Johnny, Samuel and Owen; sisters: Violet, Philomena and Cinderella. The funeral service was held on Saturday August 28, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. Ignatius R. C. Church, St. Alban's with Father Alberto Adaza officiating. Interment followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Alban's. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Hynes' Coast of Bays Funeral Home, St. Alban's. *Rosaleen was born in St. Alban's on July 1, 1917

Passed suddenly away at Harbour Breton as the result of an industrial accident on Thursday, August 5, 2010, Mr. Ernie Michael Drake, age 55 years, of Harbour Breton. Leaving to mourn his loving family: wife, Judy; two sons, Ernie (Jr.) at Alberta and Donovan (Raylene) at Harbour Breton; one daughter, Maggie (Conrad) at St. John's; two precious grandchildren, Marshall and Kadem; two brothers, Roy John (Minnie) and David (Joan) all at Harbour Breton; two sisters, Pricella Skinner (Ernest) at Lunenburg, NS and Joan Jarvis (Patty) at Harbour Breton plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Drake, and, two sisters, Elizabeth Organ and Margaret Smith. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 10, at 10:00 am from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Harbour Breton with Father Tom Duffenais officiating. Passed suddenly away as the result of an industrial accident near Sunnyside, NL, on Monday Evening, August 30, 2010, Mr. Derrick Conrad Lawrence, age 45 years, of Mose Ambrose. Leaving to mourn with loving and lasting memories are his family: loving wife, Tracey, of 20 years; his only son and best friend, Luke Aaron; his mother, Mrs. Gladys Lawrence at Mose Ambrose; four brothers, Wayne (Shirley) at Dartmouth, NS, Kevin(Helena) at Boxey, John (Beverley) at Halifax, NS and Jason (Kim) at Mose Ambrose; one sister, Joanne Tibbo (Cyril) at Mose Ambrose; the Evans Family, plus a large number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his father, Joseph; baby sister, Geraldine; grandparents, Herbert and Annie Baker, and Arthur and Elizabeth Lawrence. She was predeceased by her husband: Samuel; son: Bill; daughters: Mildred Howse and Betty Snook; granddaughter: Karla Snook; parents: David & Martha Willcott; sisters: Jude Collier, Genevieve Blake, Alimeta Perry, Madonna McDonald; brothers: Charles Willcott, Finton Willcott, Stanley Willcott, Ralph Willcott & Thomas Willcott. STRICKLAND, Thomas

Passed suddenly away as a result of a boating accident on Sunday, August 8, 2010, Mr. Thomas Walter Strickland, age 53 years, of Harbour Breton. Leaving to mourn his loving family: his father, Mr. William Strickland at Harbour Breton; Frank Bishop and Evelyn at Harbour Breton with whom he resided for over thirty years; four children, Travis at Fort MacMurray, Tony (Joy) at Deer Lake, Natasha (Corey Card) at Fort MacMurray and Christina Clarke at Marystown; four grandchildren; brothers, Gary (Cheryl), Clyde (Wanda) at Harbour Breton, Albert (Sharon) at Grand Falls, Melvin (Lorraine), Bradley (Roxanne), Rick (Susan) and Perry, all at St. John's and Jimmy at Fortune; two sisters, Marina (Brendon Stride) at Conne River and Audrey (Wayne Frampton) at St. John's plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his mother, Velma Strickland, and sister in law, Sandra. Funeral service was held on Friday, August 13 at 10:00 am from St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church in Harbour Breton with Rev.
