Passed suddenly away on Thursday, February 24, 2011, at the Central Newfoundland Health Care Center in Grand Falls-Windsor, Mr. James Bungay, in his 69th year, of Harbour Breton. Leaving to mourn his loving family: wife, Sheila; daughters, Yvonne (Jerome Power) at Harbour Breton, Alice (Bill Smith) at St. John's, Frances Bungay (Jamie) at Gaultois, Wendy (Robbie Pierce), Tracey (Eric Hunt) and Marie (Jody Baker) all at Harbour Breton; sons, Roy (Angie) and Joe (Mildred) at Harbour Breton; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; brothers, Bill (Diane), Ed (Winnie), Roy (Sharon) all at Nova Scotia, Fred (Elaine), Reg (Sandra), Max (Emmie) all at Harbour Breton, and Norman (Ada) at Head of Bay D'Espoir; sisters, Beatrice (Paul) at St. Albans and Joan at St. John's; plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his son, James; grandson, Mitchell; and parents, William Norman and Bridget Bungay.Funeral service took place on Saturday, February 26, 2011, at 3:00 pm from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church with Father Justin officiating. Passed peacefully away at the Salvation Army Glenbrook Lodge in St. John's on Thursday, February 3, 2011, Mrs. Charlotte Alice Cornish, age 84 years, formerly of McCallum. Leaving to mourn her loving family: children; James and wife, Ann, at Stephenville; Kenneth and wife, Loretta, and Mary at Prince Rupert, BC; Ann Billard and husband, Jerry, at Burgeo; John and wife, Maisie, at Harbour Breton; Etta and husband, Colin Brown at St. John's; Evelyn at Brampton, ON, and Gregory at Prince Rupert, BC; 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; one brother, Winston Poole and wife, Patricia, at Blaketown; sisters, Ann Spencer and husband, Alex, at Stephenville and Maggie Pierce at Grand Bay East; plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband, John Cornish; son, Walter; daughter, Gertrude; brother, Ralph Poole, and parents, James Poole and Mary Jane (nee Meade). Funeral service was held on Sunday, February 6, 2011, at 10:00 am from the Salvation Army Citadel in Seal Cove with Captains Edward and Rose Canning officiating. It is with great sadness that the family of the late James Howse announce his passing at the Bay d'Espoir Community Health Centre, St. Alban's, NL on Tuesday February 22, 2011 at the age of 70. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving wife: Helen; children: Viola (Christopher) Collier), Toronto, ON, Louis, Ottawa, ON, Debbie (Bryan Goring), Wellesley, ON, Jamie (Robynn), St. Alban's, NL; grandchildren: Justin, C.J., Dylan, Celeste, Alexander & Peyton as well as a large circle of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents: Joseph & Clair; brothers: Thomas & Jack and sister: Elizabeth Walsh. The funeral service was held on Thursday February 24, 2011 at 3 pm at St. Ignatius R. C. Church, St. Alban's with Father Alberto Adaza officiating. Interment followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Alban's. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Hynes' Coast of Bays Funeral Home, St. Alban's.

Passed peacefully away at the Connaigre Peninsula Health Care Centre in Harbour Breton on Monday, February 7, 2011, Mrs. Gladys Hynes, age 91 years of St. Jacques. Leaving to mourn her loving family: sisters, Julia (Allan Dominix) at Belleoram and Lillian Strickland at Port aux Basques; brother, Leo Dominix (Elizabeth) at English Harbour West; sisters in law, Marjorie Dominix at Belleoram and Dorothy (John Phillips) at English Harbour West; plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband, Alexander, and brother, George. Funeral service was held on Thursday, February 10, 2011, at 10:30 am from the Roman Catholic Church in St. Jacques with Father Justin officiating. Leaving to mourn her loving family: husband, John; daughter, Janice and husband, Calvin Hickey, at St. Alban's; two grandchildren, Shania and Nathaniel; brother, Ronald Osmond (Violet) at Grand Bank; nephews, David (Judy), Keith (Judy) at Grand Bank, and Trent (Connie) at Woodstock, NB; nieces, Ruth Burton (Kevin) and Elaine Osmond (Jerry) at Grand Bank; two special sisters in law, Ann Perry and husband, Stanley, at Harbour Breton, and Charlotte Skinner at Rose Bay, NS, plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents, Norman and Theresa Osmond. Funeral service was held on Monday, February 7, 2011, at 2:00 pm from St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church in Harbour Breton with Rev. Juanita Freeman officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Harbour Breton. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Spencer's Funeral Home.
