for the Conception Bay North/Trinity Bay areas.

VOKEY, Rachel Nee: Smith
Passed peacefully away after a short Illness at
Carbonear General Hospital on March 31, 1994, Rachel Vokey In
her 76th year. Born at Bishops Cove she was the oldest daughter of the late
John E. & Irene
Smith. On Dec. 31/40 she was married at Bishops Cove to Joseph Vokey & moved
to Spaniard's Bay where she was residing at the time of her death. Rachel will
be long remembered by a host of friends, relatives & neighbours. She will
especially be long remembered and greatly missed in her home as a devoted wife
and loving mother. Leaving to mourn her sad loss Is her husband Joseph, daughter
Janet (Mrs. Jerry Sargeant), Lewlsporte; sons Graham (wife Frances), Spaniard's
Bay; Robert (wife Joyce), Mt. Pearl; Howard (wife Lois), Fort Erie, Ontario;
brothers John I. Smith, St. John, N.B.; Leslie Smith, Bishops Cove; sister
Gladys Lundrlgan, Bramalea, Ontario; nine grandchildren & five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two sisters: Elizabeth & Suzie. Her largely attended
funeral was held from Young's Funeral Home to Holy Redeemer Church, Spaniard's
Bay on Sunday, April 3, 1994. Funeral service was celebrated by Rev. I. Sheppard.
Interment at Maul Tree Cemetery, Spaniard's Bay. Pallbearers were: Philip & Christopher
Sargeant (grandsons); Kevin Vokey (grandson); David & Glenn Smith; Clyde
Drover; Ray Vokey & Harold Crane.
