Doris
, ten-year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mercer, Spaniard's Bay, was laid to rest here on Thursday afternoon, October 5, her death having occurred on the previous day. The dear little one had been ill for almost all of her ten tender years, and although she was obliged to forego much of the play that children indulge in, she went to school when she could and tried to be careful. Her classmates were saddened to lose one of their number and as a token of respect, they attended her funeral in a group. Rev. E. Willis officiated at the Church of the Holy Redeemer.
To her sorrowing parents and the family heartfelt sympathy is offered.

Mrs. Alice Maud Reid
, wife of Hedley Reid of Spaniard's Bay passed away at her residence on Tuesday, October 3. She was 54. Her passing came as no surprise to her family and friends who did all that they could to make her comfortable and happy, and the angel of death brought to an end months of suffering, born with Christian fortitude.
The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon and was attended by members of the LOA. The service at the Church of the Holy Redeemer was conducted by the Rector Rev. E. Willis and burial was in the family plot.
Mourning their loss are a loving husband, two sons, John at Bell Island, and Eddie at home, two daughters, Mary (Mrs. Clayton Rumboldt) at Coley's Point, and Lorraine.
To those who mourn we offer sincere sympathy.
