BANNISTER, Dorothy - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dorothy Bannister announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center in Grand Falls-Windsor on July 27, 2009 at the age of 80 years old. Predeceased by husband, Alexander and brothers, Francis and Jim Keats. Left with fond memories are daughters, Millicent (Russ) Froude, Florence (Tom) Power, Kim (Steve) Newhook; sons, Jim (Isabel), Con (Ann), Sean (Sharon), Jeff (Lisa); grandchildren, Rod (Michelle), Brian (Stephanie), Darryl (Tara), Sheldon (Amanda), Andrea (Keith), Matthew (Allison); great-grandchildren, Tyler, Trent, Emily, Alexander, Benjamin, Bella. Also leaving to mourn sister, Annie (the late Raymond Baker); brothers, Bert (Dot) and Cyril (Ursula) Keats as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Rev. Charles Harris conducted the funeral service at St. Alban's Anglican Church in Grand Falls-Windsor on Wednesday July 29, 2009. Internment took place at the Anglican Cemetery, Caribou Road. Funeral arrangements were by Hoskins Funeral Home in Grand Falls-Windsor. Pallbearers were Sean Bannister, Jeff Bannister, Russ Froude, Tom Power, Steve Newhook, and Raymond Coole.

BARKER, Mary Margret - Passed peacefully away July 2, 2009 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Mary Margret Barker of Grand Falls-Windsor. She was 71 years of age. Predeceased by husband, Lawrence Barker; brothers, William Hynes and Gregory Hynes. Left to mourn are sons, William (wife, Ada Barker) of Grand Falls-Windsor; Pat Flynn (wife, Viola) of Grand Falls-Windsor and Ambrose Flynn. Also leaving to mourn grandchildren, Vanessa, Shane and William Barker, Jr., and Barry and Corey Flynn; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Catherine Hynes (Conden) and Mary Gillespie (Colbourne); brother, Alphonses Gillespie and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father William Houlahan conducted funeral services at St. Joseph's Parish, Grand Falls-Windsor, Tuesday, July 7, 2009. Interment was at St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery, Grand Falls-Windsor. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home, Grand Falls-Windsor.

CATER, Phoebe (Oct. 22, 1937 - July 1, 2009) - It is with sadness that the families of the late Phoebe Cater announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, aged 71. She is predeceased by her husband, Cyril; parents, John and Florence Elliott; grandson, Brandon, brothers, Leonard, and Llewellyn Elliott. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are daughters, Denise (Joseph) Bishop of Grand Falls-Windsor, Glenda (Dave) Little of Grand Falls-Windsor, Peggy (Dave) O'Leary of Grand Falls-Windsor, Sharon (Albert) Strickland of Grand Falls-Windsor, Rhonda Cater of Grand Falls-Windsor, Donna (Calvin ) Milley of Grand Falls Windsor; son Cyril (Charmaine) of Lower Sackville, NS; 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; sister, Elsie Rideout of Buchan's; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relative and friends. The funeral service took place, Saturday, July 4, 2009 at 2 p.m. from St. Albans Anglican Church with Reverend Harris officiating. Visitation took place Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 7-9 p.m., Friday July 3, 2009 at 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 10 Bayley Street, Grand Falls Windsor. Pallbearers: (Members of the Elks Lodge) Brian Pardy, Reg Pardy, Ray Pitcher, Phil Hynes, Leo Dormody, and Austin Walsh. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

FELTHAM, Konrad Alec - With great sadness and beautiful memories the family of Konrad Feltham, 17, of Sandy Point announce his sudden passing on Friday, July 3, 2009. Konrad was a care-free, kind and fun-loving young man who will be missed immensely by countless loving family and friends. A recent graduate of Lewisporte Collegiate, Konrad loved to race his dirt bike. Born with "grease on his hands" he had a fondness for taking apart anything that moved. With a quiet and easy-going nature, Konrad made life richer for everyone who had shared in his wonderful but short life. Leaving with heavy hearts and cherished memories are his parents, Kellie (Hancock) and Alec Feltham of Sandy Point; beloved sister, Kristina Feltham and brother, Shane Peddle. Deeply missed by grandparents, Gordon and Trixie Feltham (Collins) of Gambo; aunts and uncles, Joyce (Gerald Howse and family, Hare Bay), Bride (Dominic Collins and family, Gambo), Beulah (Gary Winters and family, Gambo), Denise (Joe Nadon and family, North Gower, ON), Linda (Mike Glover and family, Trinity), Kenneth (Corrina and family, Gambo). Also deeply missed by grandparents, Thomas and Lillian Hancock (Rogers) of Sandy Point; aunts and uncles, Catherine (daughter, Sierra, Grande Prairie, AB), Shannon (Gina and family, Grande Prairie, AB), Pennie (Marcel LeDrew and family, Goulds) and Jodean (Roland Marsh and family, Churchill Falls). Never to be forgotten by special brother, Steven Higgins, grand-friends, Olive and Roy Leyte, and countless loving friends and family. Rev. Charles Harris will conduct funeral services at The Salvation Army Citadel, Bishop's Falls on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow with a family service at a later date. Pallbearers are Steven Higgins, Jordan Freake, Jeff Best, Richard Pittman, Leonard Ellis, Nathan Feltham. Honorary pallbearers are Justin Russell, Jeff Leyte, Chris Jerrett, Conrad Saunders and Stephen Kirby. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Konrad Feltham Memorial Scholarship.

HANCOCK, Mabel Amelia July 31, 1916-July 27, 2009 - Passed peacefully away July 27, 2009, Mabel Amelia Hancock at the age of 93. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Edmund, her son, Gary and her grandson, Bradley Cook. Remembered lovingly by her family, Louise Cook and Wally Lane, Rosalind and John Wilson, Elizabeth and Peter Jackson, Randy and Gail (Jewer), Serena and David Bayley, Janice and Michael Hansen; 17 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; her dear and loyal sister, Gloria Horwood, her many nieces and nephews and their children and a number of other relatives and good friends. Mabel will be remembered for her generous spirit and her ever-ready thoughtfulness. Special thanks to the staff at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, especially to her granddaughter-in-law, Jodina for the special care she gave and for the very attentive staff at the Palliative Care Unit at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Centre in Botwood. Funeral service took place from St. James Anglican Church, Botwood, on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the ALS Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, P.O. HAYES, Helen Mary (1926-2009) - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Helen Mary Hayes announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center on July 1, 2009, at the age of 82 years. Predeceased by husband, George Hayes; parents, Mary and Patrick Kearney; brothers, Bernard Kearney and William Kearney, and sisters, Bridget Martin and Julia Farrell. Left with fond and loving memories are sons, Michael Hayes of St. John's, Bernard Hayes of Grand Falls-Windsor, and daughter, Paula Hayes of Grand Falls-Windsor. Also leaving to mourn grandchildren, Paul, Ashli, Michael, and Angela Hayes; brothers, James (Mary-Margaret) Kearney, Robert Kearney, and her sister, Francis Dwyer. Father Richard Salas conducted the funeral service at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on July 4, 2009. Interment was at the Roman Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were David Morrow, Bernard Hayes, Michael Hayes Sr., Ernest Duder, Dennis Power, Patrick Byrne Jr., and Andy Kearney. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.

JEANS, Neta Marie - Passed away July 4, 2009 after a lengthy illness, Neta Marie Jeans at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor. She was 76. Predeceased by sons, Gary and Paul; daughter, Angela; father, Jacob Elliott; sister, Susie Foote and brother-in-law, Joe Byrne. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are husband, William Jeans; sons, Jerry (wife, Genny) of Bishop's Falls, NL; Barry of Oshawa, Ont., Tony (wife, Janice) of Bishop's Falls, Keith (wife, Michelle) of Oshawa, Ont., and Kevin (wife, Corinne) of Botwood, NL; daughters, Sheila (husband, Raymond Green) of Bishop's Falls, Helen of Milton, Ont., Brenda (husband, Larry Blake) of Peterview and Diane (husband, Stephen Sharron) of Point Leamington. Also leaving to mourn mother, Mildred Jewer; sisters, Shirley Byrne, Elizabeth Sansome (Rufus), Audrey Leblanc (Frank) and Carolyn Bambrick (Bob) and brothers, Harold Elliott (Bernice), and Gerald Elliott (Ruth); 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Fraser Roberts conducted funeral services at Jubilee Pentecostal Temple, Botwood, Wednesday, July 8, 2009. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Botwood. Funeral arrangements were by Hoskins Funeral Home, Botwood. Pallbearers were her sons, Jerry, Barry, Tony, Keith and Kevin Jeans and son-in-law, Stephen Sharron. Honorary pallbearers were grandsons, Jody Blake and Shane Green.

PECKFORD, Dorothy May - Passed peacefully away on July 29, 2009 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Care Centre, Dorothy May Peckford of Grand Falls-Windsor. She was 84 years of age. Predeceased by husband, Roland; sons, Ambrose and Maxwell. Left to mourn are sons, Nath (Margaret) of Point-au-Bay, Harold (Linda) of Grand Falls-Windsor, Cyril (Robina) of Point-au-Bay, Roy (Renée) of Grand Falls-Windsor, daughters, Shirley (Arthur) of Grand Falls-Windsor, Melinda (Chris) of Grand Falls-Windsor. Also leaving to mourn sisters, Emily, Annie; brothers, Maxwell, Harold; daughters-in-law, Gwen, Ethel, and Shelia Peckford, all of Grand Falls-Windsor; 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Robert Parsons conducted funeral services at Windsor Pentecostal Church in Grand Falls-Windsor on Friday July 31, 2009. Interment took place at the Windsor Pentecostal Cemetery. Pallbearers were Nath Peckford, Harold Peckford, Cyril Peckford, Roy Peckford, Arthur King, Chris Anderson. Honorary Pallbearers were John King, Brad Peckford, and Cameron Collins. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home, Grand Falls-Windsor.

PECKHAM, Gerald (Bud) MD, F.R.C.P., F.A.C.C.: Bud Peckham passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre in his 76 year. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Joan (nee Hillier); daughters, Debbie Peckham (John Courtenay); and Cindy (Rev. Howard Crooks); sons, Gerry (June); Gary (Charlene); and Greg (Michelle); ten grandchildren; Brad and Terri Courtenay, Stephen Crooks, Becki and Jessica Peckham, Jordan, Curtis and Sydney Peckham and Melissa and Chrissi Peckham; sister, Jean Browne (predeceased husband Peter), and predeceased sister Olive and husband, Roy Bellows; sister-in-law Jennie Hillier (predeceased husband Silas) of Grand Falls-Windsor and a large circle of nieces and nephews. REID, David Elwood Leslie - Passed away after a lengthy illness on July 28, 2009, David Elwood Leslie Reid of Bishop's Falls. He was 68 years of age. Mr. Reid retired from Beothuck Ford in 1990 and was a member of the Bishop's Falls Fire Department. He is predeceased by his parents, Malcolm and Amelia Reid, and his sister, Ruth Smith. Left to mourn are wife, Pauline Reid; son, David (Carrie) of Blackfalds, AB; daughters, Allison (Wayne) Champion of Bishop's Falls, Lisa (Jim) Glavine of Bishop's Falls, and Heather (Ed) Keough of Bishop's Falls. Also leaving to mourn sisters, Joyce Mckenzie, Marilyn (Bruce) Roberts, Christine Reid; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor J.E. White conducted funeral services at the Calvary Pentecostal Church in Bishop's Falls on Friday, July 31, 2009. Interment took place at the Bishop's Falls Pentecostal Cemetery. Pallbearer were David Reid (Jr.). Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Champion, Jim Glavine, Ed Keough, Matthew Champion, Christopher Keough and Stephen Kelloway. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home.

SMART, Reginald George - Passed tragically away on the Exploits River doing what he truly loved, on July 22, 2009, Reginald George Smart at the age of 64 years. Reg retired from a teaching career of 33 years in 1997. He was a member of the St. James Anglican Church choir, BAC, Botwood Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors, Foodland Softball Team, Masonic Lodge # 9 and many other voluntary organizations. Predeceased by his parents, Francis and Lillian Smart. Left to mourn are his partner, Irene Doyle and her son, Jordan; two loving daughters, Roxanne (Bill Chayter) and Teena (Dave Fitzpatrick) and their mother, Faye. Also leaving to mourn sisters, Phyllis (Wilson Barnes), Vera (Ern Curtis), Rowena (Christopher Pinsent); brothers, Calvin (Clarice) and Brian (Brenda); three grandchildren, Cheyanne, Coady and Carly; a very large number of other relatives and friends; two granddoggies, Madden and Coley and all the bunnies. Reverend David Coffin conducted funeral services from St. James Anglican Church, Botwood on Saturday, July 25, 2009. Interment at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Botwood. Donations in Reg's memory may be made to St. James Anglican Church (Window Fund). Funeral arrangements were by Hoskins Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Calvin Smart, Brian Smart, Ern Curtis, Wilson Barnes, Hedley Hart and Bill Chayter. Honourary pallbearer was Ray Jenkins.
