June 14, 1943 - July 3, 2013

It is with sadness that the family of the late Lorraine Abbott announces her passing at the Carmelite Seniors Home Palliative Unit, Grand Falls Windsor, NL at the age of 70 years. Lorraine is predeceased by: her parents, John & Daisy Abbott; as well as several other family members. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are: her brothers, Boyd, & Lindsy (Debbie); nephew, Ron (Jane) and Matthew; niece, Rhonda (Brad) and Lindsey (Brady). Special friends Phyllis Rowsell, Wavey Budgell, and Roxanne Oake. The visitation took place Thursday, July 4, 2013 at 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service took place Friday, July 5, 2013 at 2 pm from The First United Church, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL with Rev. Elizabeth Stewart officiating. Interment followed at The United Church Cemetery, Caribou Rd. As expressions of sympathy donations in her memory were made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 10 Bayley Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.

ANDREWS, Oretha (Rita) Florence
August 28, 1926 - July 16, 2013

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rita Andrews announce her passing at the Central Regional Health Center in Grand Falls-Windsor on July 16, 2013 at the age of 86. Rita was a member of The Salvation Army Church. She was predeceased by her husband Lewis. Left with fond and loving memories is her sons - Melvin Andrews of Brampton, ON and Orivan Andrews (Judy) of Kirkland Lake, ON; and her daughter Evelyn Locke (Peter) of Cambridge, ON. Also leaving to mourn are her 8 Grandchildren, 5 Great grandchildren, her sister Phyllis Pollard (Robert) and her brother Raymond Regular (Ingrid). Majors Collin & Jackie Abbott conducted the funeral service from the Salvation Army Citadel in Springdale on July 19, 2013. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Springdale. Pallbearers were Rodney Andrews, Brian Andrews, Sherri Andrews, Rodney Gillett, Kevin Bryan and Marsha Andrews. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

AUSTIN, Wilson (Bill)
1931 - 2013

Passed peacefully away on July 31, 2013, Wilson Dawe Austin, aged 81 years, at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Care Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor. He was predeceased by: wife Frances Austin; parents Allan & Carrie Austin; brothers: Douglas, Gordan, and Hayward; and sister Dot. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories: special partner Violet Little; sons: William (Barbara) Austin, David (Nanette) Austin, Roger (Dorothy) Austin, Randy Austin, Robert (Joyce) Rideout, and Jerry (Darlene) Austin; daughters: Debra-Lee (Andy) Parnell, Paula (Paul) Howse, Barbara Rideout, and Pansy Snow; brothers: Bramwell (Elsie) Austin and Cyril (Betty) Austin; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Majors Wycliff and Shirley Reid will conduct the funeral service from the Salvation Army Citadel, Bishop's Falls on Sunday, August 4th at 2:30 pm. Interment to follow at the Salvation Army cemetery, Bishop's Falls. Funeral Arrangements entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home, Bishop's Falls. BOONE, Clancey Clifford
1950 - 2013

Passed peacefully away on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the Central NL Regional Health Care Centre, Clancey Clifford Boone of Cottrell's Cove. He was 63 years of age. He was predeceased by: parents, Abraham and Evan Boone; nephew, Jonah Winsor; brothers-in-law, Oliver and Percy Boone. He leaves to mourn his sisters, Florence Billings (Truman), Nancy Winsor (Wade); step-brother, Archibald Stuckless; special friend, Eileen Burton, nephews, nieces other relatives and friends. Pastor Dale King will conduct the funeral service at the Pentecostal Church, Cottrell's Cove with interment at the Pentecostal cemetery, Cottrell's Cove. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home, Grand Falls-Windsor. Pallbearers are Truman Billings (brother-in-law), Fraser Baker (friend), Peter Boone, Craig Breen (nephews), Ivy Packwood and Sherry Boone (nieces).

BUDGELL, Hannah F.
1931 - 2013
Hannah Budgell
was born in Fortune Harbour on October 25, 1931 to parents John and Mary (Glavine) Budgell. Hannah attended St. Anne's school in Fortune Harbour. In 1954, the Budgell family moved to Windsor where Hannah resided until 1988. She then moved to Xavier House in Corner Brook and in 2010 she moved to the Carmelite House until her passing on July 23, 2013 at the age of 81 years. She was predeceased by her parents John and Mary Budgell; brothers, David and John Budgell. She leaves to mourn her passing brothers, Richard (Anne Marie), William (Marie); sister-in-law, Mary Budgell. Also her nieces, Paula Casey and Geneviene Budgell; nephews, David Budgell and John Budgell and a circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home, Grand Falls-Windsor. Pallbearers are David, Matt, John Glavine, Glen Casey, David Budgell and George Sweeney.

1940 - 2013

Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Centre, Botwood, Theresa Cooke. She was 73 years of age. She was predeceased by her parents, Florence and Edward Cooke; sisters Josephine, Mary Catherine and Cecelia; brothers, Alexander, Leo and Edmund. She leaves to mourn her sisters, Mary (Harold) Hennifient, Sister Margaret Mary Cooke; brother, Angus (Evelyn) and a circle of other relatives and friends. DEAN, Edith Rose
November 16, 1925 - July 23, 2013

It is with sadness that the families of the late Edith Rose Dean announce her passing at the Carmelite Seniors Home, Grand Falls Windsor, NL at the age of 87 years. Edith is predeceased by her husband, Donald; parents, Victor & Myra Mercer; & brother, Harold, and brother in law Henley. EARLE, ALLAN GEORGE
1933 - 2013

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Allan George Earle announce his sudden passing at his home in Grand Falls-Windsor on July 10, 2013 at the age of 80. He was predeceased by his mother Mary, his father Edward, his sister Mable and his brother Hugh. He leaves to mourn his wife Vivian and his daughters - Gail (Rick) of Springdale and Karla (Corey) of Springdale. Also leaving to mourn his passing are his sisters Olive (Egbert) and Iris (Sherlock); brothers Ray (Sadie) and Eddie (Karen); Grandchilidren - Ian (Tonya), Sarah and Reid and Great grandchildren Cienna & Ryder. A private celebration of George's life will take place Monday, July 15, 2013 at Central Funeral Homes in Springdale to be attended by family and close friends. HAYLEY, Edmund M.
1937 - 2013

Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family, Edmund Munden Hayley, on Monday, July 8th, 2013 at the Carmelite House, Grand Falls-Windsor, at the age of 76 years. He was predeceased by: parents Harold and Bertha (Upshall); and brothers: Charles, Leonard, and Gerald. He leaves to mourn: wife Muriel; son Garry (Jacqui), Grand Falls-Windsor; daughters: Diane (Terry) Saunders, Gander, Denise (Robert) Walsh, Paradise, and Cathy (Leroy) Flynn, Churchill Falls; sister Jean Taylor, Grand Falls-Windsor; brothers: Harold (Millie), Ottawa, Jim (Isabelle), St. Anthony, David (Pat), Bill (Linda), and Keith (Wanda), all of Grand Falls-Windsor; and 10 grandchildren: Shannon (Dave), Torbay, Mark, Stephen, Calgary, Kimberley, Chantelle, William, Catherine, Rebekah, Benjamin, and Daniel; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will take place at Hoskins Funeral Home, Grand Falls-Windsor, on Tuesday from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hughie James Prescott Jacobs announce his passing at the Green Bay Health Care Center in Springdale on July 31, 2013 at the age of 86. Hughie was a member of The Salvation Army Church; he was a Senior Soldier and a member of the Men's Fellowship and Joy Fellowship groups. Hughie was predeceased by his mother Clara Randell and son-in-law Darrell Newbury. Left with fond and loving memories is his wife Daphne; sons: Jim (Valerie) of Springdale, Bob of Medicine Hat, AB, Ralph (Marilyn) of Minesville, NS., Byron (Joanne) of Lawrencetown, NS., Roger (Annette) of Springdale, Nolin (Greta) of Springdale; his daughters: Bernice (Lloyd) of Sudbury, ON., Verley (Gerald) of Springdale, Vira (Gary) of Springdale, Jane (Rick) of Corner Brook, June of Toronto, ON., and Michelle (Jim) of Orillia, ON. KINDS - JONES, Florence Elizabeth
August 5, 1931 - July 26, 2013

It is with sadness that the family of the late Florence KINDS-Jones announce her passing at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Centre, Botwood, NL at the age of 81 years. Florence Elizabeth Melina Kinden - Jones was born to the late Clarice and Harry Buckley, on Aug. 5, 1931. Florence was born and raised in Botwood. She grew up with 6 brothers and 5 sisters. In March of 1950, she married the late Royburn Kinden and together they raised 9 healthy children, in Northern Arm. In October of 1995 Florence was predeceased by her youngest baby boy, Bradley. In Aug. of 1997 she lost her husband Royburn. Florence is also predeceased by her brother-in-law, George Luther; brothers, Angus (Elsie) Buckley,and Reginald Buckley. In Jan. of 1999, Florence married her current husband, Otto Jones. Florence had many friends & family who loved her dearly. In 1998, she accepted the Lord into her life and today she walks by His side after her passing on July 26, 2013.

MORRIS, Brenda Millicent
1972 - 2013

Brenda: ( meaning the torch, people with this name have a deep inner desire for a stable, loving family or community, and a need to work with others and to be appreciated). On April 7th 1972 born to Charles & Virginia Morris a bouncing baby girl who was given the name (Brenda Millicent) Brenda was the eldest of two girls (sister Bernice). Brenda graduated from Booth Memorial High and then put her passions to work. She worked with disabled people in Home Care, and as a Daycare worker helping Children. Her passion for socializing with great friends and her love for music would bring her to her favorite spot (Murph's Café) where she would gather and sometimes show her exceptional talent as an accordion player. Brenda had an electrifying personality and to everyone who met her it was love at first sight.
She was predeceased by Grandparents: Gilbert & Minnie Warren, Colin & Stella Morris, Uncle's: Hardy Warren, Whitfield Warren, Harold Morris, Cyril Cutler, Aunt's: Elizabeth Verge, Winifred Rogers. She leaves to mourn; Common Law Spouse: Terry Bishop, Parents: Charles & Virginia Morris, Sister: Bernice Morris, Uncles & Aunts: Cyril Warren (Neil), Doyle Warren (Mildred), Eliza Cutler, Netta Budgell (Hubert Dinn), Olive Cumby (Fred), Christine Rowe (Chesley Collins), Rondalee Oxford (Dave), and a very large circle of Cousins, & Friends. NORRIS, Winnie
July 11, 1924 - July 29, 2013

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Winnie Norris announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center on July 29, 2013 at the age of 89. Winnie Norris was a member of Crohn's and Colitis Foundation, The L.O.L Lodge and the A.C.W. She retired from the Newfoundland Government (Canarama). Predeceased by her husband, George; parents, John and Elizabeth Hoffe; sisters, Dorothy Thompson, Louise Brinson and brother, Alfred Hoffe. Left with fond and loving memories are daughters, Barbara (Ralph) Randell of Grand Falls-Windsor, Sandra Mills of St. John's, Judy (Gordon) House of Bishop's Falls, Marion (Edmund) Barnes of Bishop's Falls, and Louise (Michael) Shallow of Windsor, Ontario. Also leaving to mourn are grandchildren, Stefania and Bob, Paula and Rod, Kimberly, Jeff, Sheldon and Kate, Heidi, Jordon; great grandchildren Emily and Kendra; brother-in-law Ford Brinson and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Pearl was predeceased by her parents: Cecil and Maude Bowers; brothers: Fred (Alice) Poole, George (Leah) Bowers, Arthur Bowers, William (Uldine) Bowers, Chester (Joyce) Bowers; sister Jessie Green; brother-in-law Harry Brace; sister-in-law Joan McNaughton. ROBERTS, Madeline
October 8, 1933 - July 23, 2013

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Madeline Roberts announce her passing at the Central Regional Health Center in Grand Falls-Windsor on July 23, 2013 at the age of 79. Madeline was a member of UCW. Madeline was predeceased by her husband Calvin and 2 sisters. Left with fond and loving memories is her niece, who she raised as her daughter, Jackie Woodworth (Don Bergeron) of Red Deer, AB. Also leaving to mourn her sisters, Theresa Woodworth, Elizabeth Bennett and Dollis Coles; brother John Seymour. Rev. Elsie was a member of the Triton Home League. She was predeceased by her husband Eric, mother Violet, father Andrew and her sister Ethel. Left with fond and loving memories is her daughter Verneva (Howard Roberts) of Triton. Also leaving to mourn is her grandson Hayden Roberts (Lorna); granddaughters Coralee Vincent (Toby) and Dinae Rowe (David); great granddaughters Jessica, Leah & Amelia; brothers Arthur (Margaret), Harvey (Linda) & Selby; sisters Betty (Harry), Greta (Otto) & Eileen (George). SOOLEY, Lionel Rendell

It is with sadness that the families of the late Lionel Rendell Tasker Sooley announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre at the age of 83. Left to mourn with fond and loving memoires are his wife, Jean; Children, Betty (Dennis) Waterman, Randy (Lynne), & Loretta; grandchildren Rick (April), Alex, Reid, & Nichola; and a great-granddaughter, Emma;3 sisters Nina, Tilley, and Doreen; brother Dave, as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Lionel is predeceased by his first wife, Elsie; son, Jerry; grandson, Kristofer. Lionel had many passions in his life but hockey and, specifically coaching minor hockey was a favorite past time. An untold number of youth in Grand Falls Windsor and Twillingate benefitted from his coaching experience. Public visitation took place Sunday, July 14, 2013 at 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service took place Monday, July 15, 2013 at 2 pm from Memorial United Church with Rev. Kim Waite officiating. The interment followed at the United Church cemetery, Union Street, Grand Falls Windsor, NL.No flowers by request, as expressions of sympathy, donations in his memory were made to Memorial United Church Cemetery Fund or a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 10 Bayley Street, Grand Falls Windsor, NL.

WELLS, Freeman
January 30, 1935 - July 27, 2013

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Freeman Wells announce his passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale on July 27, 2013 at the age of 78. Freeman was predeceased by his son Kevin; parents, William & Elizabeth; brothers, Alex, Layton, Raymond & Edmund; sisters, Mary & Doris Left with fond and loving memories is his wife Margaret; son, Perry (Brenda) of Springdale; daughters, Kathy (Tom) of Guelph, Betty (Chris) of St. John's and Pauline (Quent) of King's Point. Also leaving to mourn are his sister Alva; grandchildren - Stephen, Travis, Kent, Blair, Bradley & Megan; great grandchildren - Destiny, Hailey & Tate. Major Lindsay Oxford will conduct the funeral service from the Salvation Army Citadel in Springdale on July 30, 2013. Interment will be at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Springdale. Pallbearers are Frances Young, Ford Young, Terry Rolfe, Allan Curtis, Roy Curtis & George Curtis. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

WISEMAN, Joyce Hettie
October 12, 1948 - July 1, 2013

It is with sadness that the families of the late Joyce Hettie Wiseman announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls Windsor, NL at the age of 64 years. Joyce is predeceased by: parents, Edward & Kathleen Hibbs; 2 infant sons; brothers, Isaac, James, Robert, Michael, Gordon, Derek & Nelson. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories daughters, Florence (Ross) Thomas; Denise (Randy) Peddle, Jacqueline (Brian) Drover; grandchildren, Kayla, Kevin, Samantha, Bradley, Megan, Lester & Zander; great-grandchildren, Carter, Payton & Ava; sisters, Fannie, Patsy, Audrey, Goldie, Florence, Josephine Michelle; brothers, Joseph, & Samuel; special friend, David Walsh. The visitation took place Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 7-9 pm from Botwood Funeral Home, 147 Commonwealth Drive, Botwood, NL. The funeral service took place July 4, 2013 at 1 pm from Botwood Funeral Home with ACSM Lorraine White officiating. The interment followed at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Peterview, NL. Pallbearers were: Bradley Pinsent, Bradley Hibbs, Gregory Hibbs, Timothy Hibbs, Edward Hibbs & Shane Fudge. Honorary Pallbearer: David Walsh. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Botwood Funeral Home, 147 Commonwealth Drive, Botwood, NL.
