Passed away on November 19, 2010 after a lengthly illness, Glynn Harvey Barnes of Grand Falls-Windsor. He was 77 years of age. Mr. Barnes retired from the Grand Falls District Vocational School in 1988. Predeceased by parents; George & Dora Barnes, and son-in-law John Caravan. Left to mourn with loving memories are wife; Verna, daughters; Diane Caravan (friend, H.M.), Debbie Barnes, Glenda Barnes, Kim (Clay) Grant, and Denyse (Ian) Goulding. Also leaving to mourn two sisters, three brothers, special family friend Pamela Sheaves, five grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Marvin Burton will conduct funeral services from the Evangel Pentecostal Church on Monday November 22, 2010. Interment to follow from the Interfaith Cemetery, Union Street. BAKER, John
Passed away on: 14/11/2010
Passed peacefully away on November 14, 2010 at the Central NL Regional Health Care Centre, Frank Baker of Grand Falls-Windsor. He was 86 years of age. Mr. Baker retired from Abitibi Price in 1984 and was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth; son, Francis. Left to mourn are sons, Kevin (Shirley), Paul (Jeanette), Victor (Tammy), Felix (Patricia), Eugene (Carol) and Ronald; daughters, Helen Bouzane, Anne (Bus) Drover and Alice Baker. He also leaves to mourn 26 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father William Houlahan will conduct the Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Parish, Grand Falls-Windsor on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 with interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Grand Falls-Windsor. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Homes, Grand Falls-Windsor. Pallbearers were Ed Fewer, Jim Molloy, Karl Corbin, Robert Hiscock, Leo Murphy and Si Thompson.

BARTLE, Elsie (nee Warren)

Mrs. Elsie Bartle
at the Cornwall Community Hospital McConnell Site on Monday November 1, 2010 at the age of 97 years. Beloved wife of the late Leonard Bartle. Loving mother of Frank (Elizabeth) of Cornwall; and Peter (Lois) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. Sadly missed by her 5 grandchildren Marion Watkinson (George), Jane Ball (Stephen), Susan Collins (Chris), Jennifer Bartle (Kevin Rice) and Christine Bartle; and 7 great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sister-in-law Allison Bartle of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. Predeceased by her parents William and Alice (Bartlett) Warren; one brother William Warren; and sisters Ethel Barnes, Mary Bradley and Kay Wilson. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall from 10 - 10:45 AM on Saturday. A service in memory will be held in the chapel of Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday November 6, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Cornwall. Ronald Neil Boyd
of Bishop's Falls passed away on Sunday, November 7th at The Carmelite House, Grand Falls-Windsor at the age of 77 years. Mr. Boyd retired from Inglis Memorial High School in 1988 and was a member ob AOTS Mens Service Group, Air Cadets, Kinsmens Club, Retired Teachers Association, Supervisor of Student Teachers from Memorial University of NL & Lab., actively involved in his church and local advisory committee of The Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Care Centre. He is predeceased by sister, Kate Budgell, brother, Austin Boyd, nephew, Wilbur Boyd and parents Francis & Florence Boyd. Left to mourn is wife Minnie (Osmond), son Rodney of Toronto, ON and daughter Jennifer (Richard) Howie of Riverview, NB. Also leaving to mourn sisters Judy (Ralph) Marshall and Romona Butt. Passed peacefully away on Nov. 5, 2010 at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Centre, Anthony Scott Brown of Botwood. He was 56 years of age. He retired from janitorial work. He was predeceased by parents, Grant and Eleanor; sister Valerie. Predeceased by her husband Llewellyn Budden, son Leslie Herbert Budden and his wife Carman, daughter Marjorie Phyllis Vineham. Ms. Caravan was a life member and president of UCW, Member of Session, UC choir member. She was predeceased by parents, Mildred and William; brother John; sister, Judy. COOPER, Madeline

Passed peacefully away on November 24, 2010 at The Caramelite House, Madeline Cooper of Grand Falls - Windsor. She was 90 years of age. Madeline was a faithful member of the Windsor Pentecostal Church since giving her heart to the Lord at the age of 10. She was actively involved in various areas of ministry within the local church. She taught Sunday School for 51 years. Her constant companion was the Word of God - her Bible. Predeceased by 1st husband, Hubert Burt; 2nd husband, George; daughters, Grace and Goldie; son, James; parents, Noah and Charity; sisters, Florence, Clara and Agnes; brothers, George and Noah Jr. Left with fond and loving memories are sons, Norman (Marie), Donald (Janet), Gordon (Anne) and Larry (Carriayn); daughters, Noreen (Tom), Eileen (Bob) and Marilyn (Paul). Also leaving to mourn are sisters, Tilley and Nina; brother, Lionel (Jean); 26 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grand-children and many other close family members and friends. Passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness at the Health Science Complex, St. John's on Nov. 29, 2010, June Elizabeth Jewer of Botwood. She was 72 years. Mrs. Jewer worked as a cashier at Foodland and Antles most of her life and ended her working career as a home care worker in 2000. She was a member of 50 Plus Club of Botwood, Minor Hockey Moms, UCW of Botwood, Lioness Club and Firebelle Club. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Reginald Jewer (2004) and her father Frank Murphy (1986). Left to mourn are her mother Susie Murphy; son, Shaun (Gail); daughter, Connie (Paul) McDonald; three grandchildren, Kendra, Steve and Carli. LUFF, Dale
Passed away on: 04/11/2010
Dale passed away Nov. 4, 2010 at the Central NL Regional Health Care Centre after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 38 years of age. Dale Luff of Bishop's Falls was employed with Keltic Transportation as an owner-operator since 1998. This career allowed him the solitude he enjoyed and the ability to travel the world. In his spare time you could find him at the cabin on Meagle Lake, hunting, fishing and cooking all of which were his passions. Left to mourn are his daughter, Erin Ryan; parents, Albert and Rowena; sisters, Cindy Kelly (Patrick), Debbie Billings (Scott); nieces, Krista Burton, Kerri-Ann Billings, Lauren Kelly; nephews, Brett and Braeden Kelly and a large circle of relatives and friends. Pastor Shawn Bowers will conduct the funeral service at Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle, Bishop's Falls on Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, interment will be at a future date. passed peacefully away after a lengthy illness at the Central NL Regional Health Care Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor at the age of 69. Mrs. Noel retired from teaching (St. Francis Elementary School) in 1994. Predeceased by parents, Joseph Sr. & Mary McDonald and brother William. Left to mourn husband Allan, daughters; Carol Ann (Tom) Dayon of Toronto, ON, Stephanie Noel of Toronto, ON, Lisa (Leo) Thoms of Calgary, AB, Laurie (Paul) Caines of Edmonton, AB. Also leaving to mourn sisters; Helen McDonald, Betty O'Rielly and brothers; Joseph McDonald, Richard McDonald, Neil McDonald and Jack McDonald. Three grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Passed away with dignity and courage, surrounded by his family at the Central NL Regional Health Care Centre, Cyril Wallace Stone of Bishop's Falls. He was 77 years of age. SULLIVAN, John

John Joseph Sullivan
passed away, peacefully but unexpectedly at his son's home in Conception Bay South on Monday, November 29, 2010, age 68 years. Left with fond and loving memories, his wife of 44 years, Rita; sons Johnny and Conrad (Ann Marie); daughters Michelle and Lisa (Brian); grandchildren: Emma, Maisy and Sophie; and many other relatives and friends. John was an entrepreneur and a barber/hairstylist for 51 years in Grand Falls-Windsor. Throughout his career he made numerous house calls, provided services at the Carmelite House, Bishop's Falls Correctional Centre, and participated in cancer fund-raising activities. John was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, the Multi-cultural Association, a member of the Grand Falls Town Band, and a member of the Grand Falls-Windsor Business Hall of Fame. John loved spending time with his family and enjoyed music immensely. He played the E flat horn, french horn, trumpet, guitar, piano, and accordian. He appreciated nature, loved moose hunting, and had great respect for all cultures. He participated in karate, step dancing, and recreational hockey as a goalie. On a lighter note, he was an avid prankster, an avid card shark, sun worshiper, lover of black, white, red and all things gold - and staying in fine hotels!
We love you and will miss you dearly John, Dad, Poppy... xo.
