ADAMS, Florence Naomi (Hoddinott) – Dec. 13, 1914 – Oct. 19, 2008 – Florence Naomi Adams was born at Embree (Salt Pond) on Dec. 13, 1914 to Chesley and Mary Hoddinott. She married Cluney Adams and had five sons. She is predeceased by husband Cluney, infant son Gary and son Robert. Left to mourn are sons Wallace (Dorothy), Everett (Prudence) and Gary (Verna), also daughter-in-law Susan; as well as 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren. Florence also leaves behind many more relatives and friends and a very special friend, Graham. She was a faithful member of the Salvation Army and an active member of the Home League, enjoying the friendship and fellowship she found there. Florence will be missed by all, especially her family, who will remember her as a loving mother who cared deeply for each one. Captain Morris Vincent conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army Citadel on Circular Road in Grand Falls-Windsor, on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Pallbearers were Everett Adams, Gary Adams, Barry Adams, John Baker, Lorne Baker and Terry Freeman. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Mike Goodyear of Central Funeral Homes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carmelite House Bus Fund.

BAILEY, Flora Jane – Passed peacefully away with family by her side at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre on October 11, 2008, Flora Jane Bailey of Bishop’s Falls. She was 87 years of age. Predeceased by her husband, Robert; sons, John and Ernest; sisters, Olive Ellis, Dora Balsom; brothers, Verdon, Jake, Joseph; son-in-law, Frank Manuel; great-granddaughter Hayley Adams. She leaves to mourn with fond memories son, Ralph (Alma); daughter, Betty Manuel from Bishop’s Falls. Also leaving to mourn are two foster children, Rosalind Hancott and Terry Barney; nine grandchildren, Tim, Tony, Chad, Fern, Nicole, Joshua, Nathan, Sarah and Justin; nine great-grandchildren, Brooke, Alana, Tara-Lee, Brent, Stephen, April, Shane, Luke and Lane; two great-great-grandchildren, Aaron, Sarah. Also leaving to mourn are sisters, Daphne England and Irene (Jack) Ellis and a large circle of other relatives and friends. They have also been foster parents to over 300 children in the past 48 years. Pastors J.E. and A.S. White conducted the funeral service from Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Sunset Drive, Bishop’s Falls. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home, Bishop’s Falls. Pallbearers were Reginald Ellis, Verdon Ellis, Gerald Ellis, Darren Reid, Onslow Balsom and Bert Luff.

BAIRD, Mary – It is with saddened hearts we announce that Mary’s journey of life on earth ended on October 16, 2008 at the General Hospital in Dartmouth, N.S., aged 79. She was born in Curling on January 27, 1929 but grew up in Bishop’s Falls. Mary courageously fought her short battle with lung cancer and peacefully passed away in the arms of her daughter-in-law, Rita. Previously of Grand Falls-Windsor, she fulfilled her dreams of “crossing the water” and spent the last 16 months of her life living in her cozy apartment in Dartmouth, close to her family, with her two cats, Kelli and Kimmie, where she enjoyed life to the fullest, despite her failing health. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Harry (1999); grandson, Harry (1999); parents, Thomas and Anne O’Keefe. Left to mourn with fond loving memories, son, Andrew (Rita) Baird of Dartmouth, N.S.; granddaughter, Daphne (Stephen) Love of Ottawa, ON; grandson, Andrew (Victoria) Dutton, ON; two precious great-grandchildren, Felicia and Andrew; special niece Kelli (Mike) MacKenzie of Dartmouth, N.S.; sisters, Betty (Bruce) Windeler of Port Hawkesbury, N.S., Madelyn (John) Gray of Stephenville, Eleanor (Greg) Dorken of Medicine Hat, AB, Lynn (Sonny) Stride of Powell River, BC; brothers, Gill (Jen) of Stephenville Crossing, Jim (Gen) of Bishop’s Falls, Ron (Nancy) of Stephenville, Neil (Marion) of Bishop’s Falls and Gerry of Edmonton, Alberta; brother-in-law, Donald (Louise) Baird; sister-in-law Betty Baird-Cross of Newfoundland, as well as a large circle of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. The Funeral Mass took place Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Grand Falls-Windsor. Interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Union Street, Grand Falls-Windsor. Special thanks to her family doctor, Dr. Sarah Seaman and to the doctors and nurses at the Dartmouth General Hospital and the Dickson Cancer Centre. Donations in her memory can be made to the Exploits Valley SPCA in Grand Falls-Windsor or to any chapter of MADD Canada. Pallbearers were nephew Brian O’Keefe; nephew Bob Baird; Roger Pike, Budd Hynes, Claude Butt and Jeffrey Butt, special friends of the family. BELBIN, Isaac Roy – Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Complex in St. John’s on October 27, 2008, Isaac Roy Belbin of Grand Falls-Windsor. He was 76 years of age. Mr. Belbin retired from NF Power in 1991. Predeceased by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Arlene; daughters, Merab (Aubrey Bowers), Marion (Gary King), Viola (Shannon Randell), Pauline (Sean Tulk); grandchildren, Stephen (Janice) King, Krystal King, Kristen Bowers, Cordell Bowers, Jessica Randell, Marcus Tulk, Philip Randell and Lucas Tulk; great-granddaughters, Chloe and Julie King. He is also survived by sisters, Nettie Butt, Cecilia Belben; brother, Alfred (Viney) Belbin; sister-in-law, Lillian Belbin and many nieces and nephews. Pastor Geoff Slade conducted the funeral service at Evangel Pentecostal Tabernacle, Grand Falls-Windsor, Thursday, October 30, 2008. BOUZANE, John – Passed peacefully away Oct. 11, 2008 at his home in Grand Falls-Windsor, John Bouzane. He was 80 years old. Mr. Bouzane retired from Abitibi in 1988 and was a member of Local 63. Predeceased by parents, William and Mary Ellen Bouzane; sons, David and Clarence Bouzane; daughter, Louise Burt; brothers, Clayton, Desmond, Gordon, Rex, Gerald; sisters, Mary Ellen (Nellie), Shirley and Marion. Left to mourn are wife, Louise; sons, Patrick (wife, Helen) of Grand Falls-Windsor; Gerard (wife, Brenda) of Calgary, Alberta, John (wife, Kelly) of Grand Falls-Windsor, Randy (wife, Ginette) of Keswick, Ontario, Brian (wife, Angela) of Oshawa, Ontario; daughters, Gloria (husband, Don Chaulk) of Calgary, Alberta, Bernadette (husband, Raymond Griffin) of Grand Falls-Windsor, Lavinia (husband, Tom Jackson) of Grand Falls-Windsor, Eileen of Grand Falls-Windsor and Laetitia of Grand Falls-Windsor. BURT, Edward Thomas - Passed peacefully away on Oct. 6, 2008 at the Central NL Regional Health Care Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, Edward Thomas Burt of Peterview. He was 75 years of age. Mr. Burt retired as a heavy equipment operator in 1988. Predeceased by parents, Elmo and Emma Burt; brother, Winston; sister, Adeline. Left to mourn with fond memories are his wife, Yvonne; sons, Donald (Melvina), Terry (Blanche), Derrick (Shirlie), Glen (Christine), Corie (Kelly); daughter Holly (Shawn Gosse). Also leaving to mourn are sisters, Cassie Humby, Monnie Burt, Judy Mews, Venus Samson and brother Rex Burt; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Linda Burt conducted the funeral service at Trinity United Church, Botwood on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008. Interment was at the United Church Cemetery, Botwood. COATES, Philip – Passed peacefully away Oct. 24, 2008 at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Centre, Philip Coates of Botwood. He was 89 years of age. Mr. Coates retired from Abitibi-Price in 1983. Philip was a veteran of the Royal Air Force, an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 5 and a Sub-Lieutenant for the Botwood Sea Cadets. Predeceased by father, Thomas, mother, Alice Maude; brothers, George, James, Harry, Lewis; sisters, Mildred Penney, Daisy La Pierre; grandchildren Meghan and Andrew Ryan. Left to mourn are wife, Nellie V., son, Ernest of Elmira, ON; daughters, Phyllis Coates (husband, Terry Wells) of Botwood and Jeanette Coates (husband, Michael Ryan) of Calgary, AB. Also leaving to mourn sisters, Ada Jewer, Hazel Rowe and Florence Vandenburg; and brother, Calvin; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. DAWE, Edwin (Ed) – Passed peacefully away at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, Ed Dawe, formerly of Grand Falls-Windsor, at the age of 70 years. Predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth and Harvey Dawe. Left with fond and loving memories, his wife, June (nee Thomas); daughter, Stephanie; son, Harvey (Michelle); sister, Ethel Rowsell (Vince); as well as other relatives and friends. Rested at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, St. John’s. Funeral service was held on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008 at 1 p.m. from Caul’s Chapel. Cremation followed. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

EARLE, Martha Levenia – Passed peacefully away Oct. 30, 2008, Martha Levenia Earle of Point Leamington, at the Carmelite House, Grand Falls-Windsor. She was 85. Mrs. Earle was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Predeceased by husband Samuel Earle; parents, Henry and Jessie Patey; brothers, David Patey and Leonard Patey. Left to mourn are sons, Harry (Ruth) of Point Leamington and George (wife, Queenie) of Grand Falls-Windsor; daughter, Bernice (husband, Leonard). Also leaving to mourn sister, Julie Feener and brother, Peter Patey; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. ELLIS, Georgina – Passed peacefully away on October 26, 2008 at the Health Science Complex in St. John’s, Georgina Ellis of Bishop’s Falls. She was 81 years of age. Predeceased by parents, William and Reta Verge; husband, Joseph (1988). Left to mourn are sons, Kevin (Wavey), Perry (Judy), Melvin (Sharon), Rodney (Carolann); daughters, Mary (Jack) Rendell, Rita (Calvin) Matchim. Also leaving to mourn are her 17 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Daphne England, Irene (Jack) Ellis, Ethel Ellis, Patricia Ellis; brother-in-law, Fred Balsom and a large circle of other relatives and friends. FEWER, Ada – It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ada Helen Fewer announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor on October 29, 2008 at the age of 73. Predeceased by Walter John Fewer (deceased in 1990); parents, Cyril and Agnes Tubrett; sister, Angela Clements; brother, Michael. Left with fond and loving memories are sons, Terry (Meredith) Fewer of Dartmouth, N.S., Paul Fewer (Doreen Shapter) of Mount Pearl, Wayne (Cathy) Fewer of Goose Bay, John Fewer (Amanda Reid) of Dartmouth, N.S.; daughters, Mary (Roger) Brown of Dartmouth, N.S., Ann Fewer (Tony Simms) of Grand Falls-Windsor. FITZPATRICK, Michael (1908–2008) – It is with great sadness that the family of the late Michael Fitzpatrick announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor on October 19, 2008 at the age of 100. Michael Fitzpatrick retired from logging and fishing. Predeceased by first wife Mary Fitzpatrick, second wife Mary Anne Fitzpatrick (nee Sullivan), Donald Fitzpatrick, Michael Fitzpatrick Jr., Bernard Fitzpatrick and Lorraine Fitzpatrick. Left with fond and loving memories are sons William Fitzpatrick (Triffie) of Fortune Harbour, Andy Fitzpatrick of Fortune Harbour, John Fitzpatrick (Judy) of Fortune Harbour; daughters, Margaret Butler of Fortune Harbour, Bridget Hicks (Steven Finnigan) of Appleton. Also leaving to mourn grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild and a large circle of other family and friends. FORDE, Leslie – Mr. Leslie Forde, one-time resident of Bishop’s Falls and Northern Arm, passed peacefully away at his home in England on October 23, 2008. Mr. Forde was aged 83 years and a former teacher in central Newfoundland with the Pentecostal school board.

HAMILTON, Rita (nee Beson) (May 21, 1916–October 5, 2008) – It is with great sadness that the families of the late Rita Hamilton (nee Beson) announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre at Grand Falls-Windsor, on Oct. 5, 2008, aged 92. Predeceased by her husband, William; brothers, Lambert, Leonard, Allan, Walter and Theodore; sister, Esther; grandson, Brian; sons-in-law, William Hatch and James Healey. Left to mourn with fond loving memories are sons, Ray (Claudette) of North Bay, ON, Reg (Marie) of Victoria, B.C., Jim of Scarborough, ON, Lambert (Maureen) of Langley, B.C., Bill Jr. of Edmonton, AB, Tom (Margaret) of Toronto, ON, John (Winnie) of Mount Pearl; daughters, Yvonne (Steve Pottle) Healey of Stephenville, Patricia Hatch of Toronto, ON, Margaret (Clyde) Brown of St. John’s, Catherine (Calvin) Hart of Grand Falls-Windsor, Colleen (Gary) Heads of Kimberly, B.C., Gail Hamilton of Bishop’s Falls; brother, Jim Beson of Alberta; 37 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild. HANCOCK, Archibald – Passed away on October 28, 2008 Archibald Hancock at Dr. Hugh Twomey Center, Botwood at the age of 65 years. Mr. Hancock retired from Abitibi in 2005 and was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Botwood Fire Department and Chartered Member of the Kinsmen Club. Predeceased by his parents, Maxwell and Agatha; brothers, Bernard and Ronald and sisters, Betty, Shirley and Molly. Left to mourn are his wife, Ivy; son, Arch (Iris); daughters, Kay (Sheldon Patey), Georgina (Loris Paolucci), Karen and Elizabeth (Jason). Also leaving to mourn sisters, Bernice (Dwayne), Georgina (Reg) and brothers, Joe (Trudy), Tom (Lillian), Barry (Gloria) and Alvin, grandchildren, Brooklynn, Tiana and Kevyn. Major D. HANCOCK (GILL), Myrtle Louise – It was with great sadness that the family of Myrtle Louise Hancock (Gill) announced her sudden passing at her residence in Botwood on Monday, October 13, 2008. She was 64 years of age. Predeceased by father, Charles Gill; brother, David Gill; son, Bradley; parents-in-law, Stella and David Hancock. Left to mourn her passing with fond memories are, husband, Douglas; sons, Darin; daughters, Sherry (Ted Valiquette), Cavel (Jodey Potter); mother, Marie Gill; sisters, Ruby, Elsie, Goldie; brothers, Calvin, Winston, Oliver, Melvin; brother-in-law, Woodrow Hancock (Linda); four grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. HEALEY, Joan Violet – Passed peacefully away Oct. 5, 2008, at the Health Sciences Complex, St. John’s, NL, Joan Violet Healey. She was 65 years of age. Predeceased by son Robbie; parents, Raymond and Dorothy Mills; and brother, Garfield. JEWER, Douglas Boyde – Passed peacefully away with family by his side on October 9, 2008 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Care Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, Douglas Boyde Jewer, at the age of 89. Mr. Jewer retired from Abitibi Price in 1981 and was a member of Local 63 – Papermakers Union. Predeceased by parents, Abiah Jewer and Elsie Jewer-Lane; step-father, Obediah Lane; sons, Wilfred and Scott; daughter, Verbena Budgell; son-in-law, Cyril Hennessey; daughter-in-law, Eileen Jewer; three sisters and one brother. Left to mourn with fond memories are wife Elsie Jewer; sons, Otto (Ella), Wallace (Joan), Edward (Pearl), Boyde (Bud) (Sharon), Gerald (Helen), Shawn; daughters, Joan Hennessey, Hazel (Ludrick Burt), Peg (Archie Grey), Louise (Harold Fancey), Marie (Llewlyn Fancey), Margaret (Roger Tilley), Judy (Brian Jassman). LEWIS, Gertrude (1921 - 2008) – It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gertrude Lewis announce her passing at the Central Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor on October 7, 2008 at the age of 87. Gertrude was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 12 . Predeceased by first husband, Charles Chapman, (1940), husband, Harold Lewis, (1988), son Charles (2006), 4 sisters & 4 brothers. LUSH, Marie Caroline – Passed peacefully away Oct. 3, 2008, at her residence in Grand Falls-Windsor, Marie Caroline Lush. She was 78 years of age. Mrs. Lush retired from the Cozy Chat in 1974 and was a member of the C.W.L., St. Joseph’s Parish. Predeceased by husband, Gerald in 1999 and daughter, Madonna in 1962. Left to mourn are sons, Patrick of Winnipeg, Manitoba; Richard (wife, Julie) of P.E.I., Jerry (wife, Angela) of Grand Falls-Windsor; daughters, Mary of Grand Falls-Windsor, Marie (husband, Reynold) Sahulka of Winnipeg and Madonna (husband, Stephen) Kostal of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Patti, Robin, Justin, Richard, Brittany, Sean, Kierra, Jenissa, Brady and Osten; great-grandson, Brandon; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Don Adaza conducted funeral services at St. Joseph’s Parish, Grand Falls-Windsor, Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008. Interment was at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Main St., Grand Falls-Windsor. Funeral arrangements were by Hoskins Funeral Home, Grand Falls-Windsor. Pallbearers were Dominic Lynch, Mike Ryan, Joe Maloney, Gary Baker, James Adams and Donald Beson. Honorary pallbearers were Dave Snow and Scott Keats.

LYVER, Frederick Michael (1952–2008) – It is with great sadness that the family of the late Frederick Michael Lyver announce his passing at his residence in Grand Falls-Windsor on October 26, 2008 at the age of 55. Frederick is predeceased by his parents, Stella and Frederick Lyver. Left with fond and loving memories are his daughter, Mary; brothers, Bill (Clara) of Buchans Junction, Kevin (Sharon) of Edmonton, AB, Joe (Carolann) of Branch and Bernard of The Goulds; and sister, Mary (Milton) Burt of Grand Falls-Windsor. Father William Houlahan conducted the funeral service at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Grand Falls-Windsor on November 3, 2008. Interment will be at the Buchans Community Cemetery at a later date. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.

MORGAN, Sharon Christina – Passed away Oct. 11, 2008, after a lengthy illness, Sharon Christina Morgan at Dr. Hugh Twomey Centre, Botwood. She was 49 years of age. Predeceased by mother, Ruby; father, William; brothers, Wayne and David. Left to mourn are foster parents, Penny and Ernie Peyton of Botwood; foster sisters, Sharron and Allan of Alberta, Paula and Dennie of Botwood, Rhonda and Allan of Botwood; Lori and Brad of Botwood; foster brothers, Dennis Hennessey of Botwood, Darren and Debbie of Botwood, Keith and Kim of Botwood. Also leaving to mourn sisters, Rosalind, Cindy and Helen; and brothers, Jim, Clyde, Randy, Jerry and Lorne and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Frazer Roberts conducted funeral services at Jubilee Pentecostal Temple, Botwood, on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008. Interment was at Pentecostal Cemetery, Botwood. NEWBERG, Ruth (nee Whitehorne) – Ruth Newberg (nee Whitehorne), formerly of Millertown, Newfoundland, passed peacefully away at Canora, Saskatchewan on October 14, 2008. Predeceased by her parents, William and Elizabeth; brother Bill. Left with fond and loving memories, husband, Don of Hyas, Sask.; children, Connie (Glen) Johnson of Saskatoon, Sask., Marlene (Don) Fraser of Provost, Alberta, AB, Warren (Pam) of Hyas, Sask., and 11 grandchildren. Also mourning Ruth’s passing are siblings, Jean (Joe) Burden, Daisy (Hubert) Amirault, Judy Blackmore, Bob (Sarah) Whitehorne and Lloyd (Mary Lou) Whitehorne; sister-in-law, Evelyn Whitehorne and many nieces and nephews. Memorial service took place at Hyas, Sask., October 18, 2008.

PARSONS, Linda Ruth (nee Keats) – It is with great sadness that the families of the late Ruth Parsons announce her passing on October 27, 2008, at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, aged 74 years. Predeceased by her parents, George and Susanna Keats; brother, Douglas; sister, Meta. Left to mourn with fond loving memories are husband, Fred; sons, Fred Jr. (Gail) of Grand Falls-Windsor, Gary (Barbara) of Grand Falls-Windsor; daughter, Lynn (Melvin) Burry of Grand Falls-Windsor; grandchildren, Todd, David, Victoria, Devin, Natasha and Tyler; sisters, Daisy Rideout, Shirley Evans and Dorothy Braye; brothers, Calvin, Edison and James; special family friend, Beverley Parsons; as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. The funeral service took place Thursday, October 30, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Salvation Army Park Street Citadel with Major Sandra Stokes officiating. RICE, Jean Winnifred (nee Pittman) (Nov. 15, 1926–Oct. 12, 2008) – It is with great sadness that the families of the late Jean Rice (nee Pittman) announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, on Oct. 12, 2008, aged 81. Predeceased by her parents, Wesley and Annetta Pittman. Left to mourn with fond loving memories are husband, Ronald Rice; sons, Ron Jr. (Diane) of Calgary, AB; Dennis (Dianne) of Grand Falls-Windsor; Ewen (Rob) of Toronto, ON; Glenn (Ada) of St. John’s; daughters, Gwen of Grand Falls-Windsor, Linda (Clyde) Vincent of Mount Pearl; Shirley (Roy) Snow of Grand Falls-Windsor, June of Grand Falls-Windsor, Audrey (Rob) Goslin of St. Catharines, ON, Bonnie (Dennis) Ivany of Botwood. ROWSELL, Josephine Mae – Passed peacefully away on October 25, 2008 at her residence in Beaverlodge, Alberta, Josephine Mae Rowsell. She was 47 years of age. Left to mourn are her husband, John Curlew; sons, Joey (Melanie), Point Leamington, NL, Jeremy (Patti-Lee), Beaverlodge, AB. Also leaving to mourn are sisters, Jennifer Stuckless; brothers, Fraser (Donna), Roger (Christle) and Quinton (Rhonda) and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Captain Richard Mouland conducted the funeral service from The Salvation Army Citadel, Point Leamington on Friday, October 31, 2008 with cremation to follow. Funeral arrangements by Hoskins Funeral Home, Botwood. Pallbearers were Rogers Stuckless, Troy Stuckless, Christoper Stuckless, Cody Stuckless, Mark Brett and Paul King. Honorary pallbearer is Lance Noseworthy.

STUCKLESS, Iona Grace – Passed away October 30, 2008, at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Care Centre, Iona Grace Stuckless of Botwood. She was 81 years of age. Mrs. Stuckless was a housewife and former teacher and was a member of the Home League and League of Mercy. Predeceased by husband, Rankin and daughter, Monica. Left to mourn are her son Tony, his wife, Donna and their children, Matthew and Michelle. Also leaving to mourn sister, Marjorie Clarke; sisters-in-law, Genevieve, Maude Green and Margaret Stuckless and brother-in-law, Enos Stuckless. Major Jim Cooper conducted funeral services from the Salvation Army Citadel, Botwood, Sunday, November 2, 2008. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Botwood. SWEETAPPLE, Ralph Clayton (1922–2008) – It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ralph C. Sweetapple announce his passing at the Central Newfound-land Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor, on Oct. 3, 2008, at the age of 86. Ralph was a member of the Oddfellows, the Cancer Survivors Choir, Men’s Choir Memorial United Church and the Prostate Survivors’ Group. He retired from Abitibi-Price in 1984. Ralph is predeceased by father, Nabeth Sweetapple; mother, Rose; and brother, Walter. Left with fond and loving memories are wife, Ena (66 years married); daughters, Doris (Neil Pardy) of Grand Falls-Windsor, Mary (Bill Warr) of Grand Falls-Windsor and Marlene (Dave Peddle) of Grand Falls-Windsor. Also leaving to mourn sister, Jean of Glovertown; and brother, Rex (Louise) of Downsview, Ont.; grandchildren, Brian, Sean and Blair Pardy, Christina Beson, David Peddle, Jason Peddle and Scott Warr; great-grandchildren, Brian Jr., Noelle, Katlyn, Andrew and Jamie Pardy, Rebecca Peddle, Emma Beson and Travis Warr; along with a large circle of other family and friends. TAYLOR, Clementine – Passed away Oct. 22, 2008 at Dr. Hugh Twomey Centre, Botwood, Clementine Taylor (nee Hibbs). She was 81. Predeceased by husband, Royburn. Left to mourn sons, William “Bill” (wife, Beulah), of Peterview, Harry (wife, Linda) of Peterview), Eric “Junior” (wife, Doris) of Peterview, Pearce of Peterview, Fred (wife, Shirley) of Ontario, Derrick (wife, Lisa) of Peterview, Rodney (wife, Theresa) of Botwood; daughters, Joyce of Nippers Harbour, Cherry (husband, Winston) of Peterview, Wavey of Peterview, Betty (husband, Verdon) of Ontario, Yvonne (husband, Gerald) of Botwood, Marjorie (husband, Finley) of Peterview and Ellie-Mae (husband, Eli, Jr. “Bud”) of Ontario. Also leaving to mourn sisters, Rebecca, Rose, Flossie, Lucy and Fern; and brother, Charles; 39 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. WATTON, Roy Nelson – Passed peacefully away October 26, 2008, with his family by his side, Roy Nelson Watton at his residence in Bishop’s Falls. He was 56 years of age. Mr. Watton was a member of the Exploits Search and Rescue. Predeceased by parents, Harvey and Myrtle Watton; brother, Everett; parents-in-law, Ave and Lulu Milley. Left to mourn are wife, Ivey; daughter, Allison (boyfriend, Matt Power) of St. John’s. Also leaving to mourn sisters, Pearl (Milton) Warren, Shirley (Dave) Ruttgaizer, Barbara (Herbert) Ivany; sister-in-law, Barbara Watton; brother, Rex (Helen); sisters-in-law, Christine (Lorne Pelley) and Sadie (Frank Strickland); brothers-in-law, Victor (Bernice) Milley, Roy (Stacey) Milley and Brian (Barb) Milley and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Majors Don and Karen Feltham conducted funeral services at the Salvation Army Citadel, Bishop’s Falls, Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Bishop’s Falls. Funeral arrangements were by Hoskins Funeral Home, Bishop’s Falls. Pallbearer was his daughter, Allison. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Grand Falls-Windsor.
