JEANS, Robert George
1937 - 2006

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Robert George Jeans, age 69, of Cape Ray announce his passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques on Sunday, December 3rd, 2006 after a very short battle with cancer. Left to mourn are his loving wife, Norma (nee Marshall) of 49 years marriage; his daughters, Donna (Dave Wells) of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Verna (Carl) Frost of Corner Brook, NL; sons, Brent (Susan) of Middle Cornwall, NS, and Paul of St. John's, NL; his five grandchildren, Juanita, Crystal, Timothy, Stephen and Anna; and great-granddaughter, Morgan. Also left to mourn are a great number of family and friends; sisters, Ada (late Timothy McCarthy), Ruth (Jack Marks) and Lillian (Roland Marshall); brothers-in-law, Jack (Leona) Marshall, late Stanley (Ida) Marshall; sisters-in-law, Grace (Joe) Jeans and John (Joyce Bryce). He was predeceased by his parents, Dora and Harold Jeans; parents-in-law, Evangeline and Norman Marshall; brothers, Victor and Vernon; and sister, Vera Gullage. Visitation took place on Wednesday, December 6th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home. A memorial service took place on Thursday, December 7, 2 p.m. the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses Grand Bay, with Michael Fitzgerald officiating. Interment took place on Friday, December 8th, in Pasadena. Funeral arrangements in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300.

SEYMOUR, Edith A.
Dec. 21, 1932 - Dec. 6, 2006
Isle aux Morts, NL

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at Charles LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 73. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories sister, Emma Jane Keeping of Burnt Islands; brother, George Seymour of St. Anthony; her special family through life, Kay Coleman, Dawn Harvey and Clifford Harvey; special nieces at heart, Victoria, Anna and Emma; nieces, Alice Keeping, Edith (Israel) Kinslow, Shelia (Henry) Keeping and Maxine (Roy) Spicer; nephews, George (Jocelyn) Keeping, Raymond (Karen) Keeping, Max Keeping and Gerald Keeping along with a wide circle of great-nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by mother, Elizabeth Seymour (nee LeFrense); father, George Seymour; brother-in-law, Cyril Keeping; nephews, Ronnie Keeping and Clayton Keeping; life long special friends; Mary Ann and Benjamin Coleman. Friends visited the family residence in Isle aux Morts on Thursday evening and all day Friday. The funeral service took place from Holy Spirit Anglican Church on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at 2 p.m. Rev. Fudge officiated. Interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, the family graciously accepted flowers or donations to a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port aux Basques. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website www.fillatre.ca

SPENCER, Ada (Green)
1931 - 2006

Passed away peacefully at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Saturday, December 9th, 2006, Ada Spencer of Rose Blanche at the age of 75 years. Born at Cul de Sac, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Lucy (nee Durnford) Green. She was also predeceased by her husband, Chesley Spencer; brothers, Thomas Green and Victor Green; step-brothers, Mark, Harry and Jack Symes; step-father, William Symes; father-in-law, Stephen Spencer; mother-in-law, Effie Spencer; brothers-in-law, Clayton Spencer and Henry Durnford; sister-in-law, Jenny (nee Spencer) Currie and Emmie (nee Prosser) Durnford. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her loving family: children, Violet Roberts, Peggy (Arthur) Keeping, Wayne (Sharon) Spencer, Sandy (Karen) Spencer; brothers, Lesley (Eva) Green, Calvin (Brenda) Symes, Ernest (Paulette) Symes; sister-in-law, Melita Green; step-sister, Mary (nee Symes) Marks; step-brother, Edwin Symes; granddaughters, Angela Roberts, Charmaine (Corey) Upwards, Arlene (Dominic) Herritt, Khloe Spencer; grandsons, Michael (Rhonda) Roberts, Shawn (Nicole) Roberts, Waylon, Tyson, Devon and Brady Spencer; Four great-grandsons and four great-granddaughters and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation took place on Sunday and Monday at Fillatre's Funeral Home at Port aux Basques. Funeral services took place on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at St. James' Anglican Church officiated by Rev. OSMOND, Richard Dwain
(2002-2006)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Richard Dwain Osmond announce his passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Monday, December 11, 2006 at the age of four years after a courageous battle with cancer. Richard was predeceased by his grandmother, Susie Osmond. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his loving family: parents, Angela and Dwain; and big brother, Travis; grandfather, Ralph Osmond (friend, Alice Tapp); grandparents, Ralph and Mary Anderson; great-grandparents, Thomas and Eva Anderson; aunts and uncles; Leroy (Roberta) Anderson, Tommy (Laverne) Anderson, Glen (Elaine) Osmond, Shelia (Junior Short) Osmond, Elizabeth (Michael) Lomond, Janet (Fabian) Organ, Walter (Christa) Osmond, Bonnie (Terry) Osmond all of Cape Ray and a large circle of great aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. Visitation took place on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 1-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place on Wednesday, December 13th, 2 p.m. at St. John The Evangelist Anglican Church, Cape Ray, officiated by Rev. Evelyn Smith. Interment followed at the church cemetery in Cape Ray. Funeral arrangements in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300.
Richard was a fun loving child who loved life to the fullest. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and anyone else who was fortunate enough to have had Richard touch their lives in any way. Go home our precious angel free from suffering and pain, we will be apart only for a little while, someday we'll be together again. We love you Richard.

KETTLE (Hillier), Mary Frances
- 85, Lower Sackville. It is with great regret that we announce the gentle passing of our loving mother and friend on December 20, 2006, in the VG Site, QEII. Born in Grand Bay/Port aux Basques, N.L, on September 14, 1921, to parents Albert and Cedella (Kettle) Osborne. Mary is survived by daughters, Elaine (Jim) Laurie, Lower Sackville, and Kathleen (William) Tummonds, East Uniacke; sons, Albert (Jewel) Hillier, Halifax, and Philip (Nancy) Hillier, Lower Sackville; sister, Edna Parsons, Mount Pearl, N.L.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by husbands, Uriah Hillier and Maxwell Kettle; sisters, Hilda and Ida. Mary lived a very full, active and lengthy life and was blessed with excellent health except for the last two months. Her pride and enjoyment in her home and family was evident to all who met her. She loved to travel south in the winters, enjoyed gardening, sewing and knitting. She took a keen interest in the lives of both her children and grandchildren and was always there to participate in what ever was happening. Mary was a member of St. Margaret of Scotland Church and the Mothers' Union of St. Francis by the Lakes Anglican Church. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 23, in St. Margaret of Scotland Church, 3751 Robie St., Halifax, Celebrant Archdeacon Dianne C. Parker and Rev. Mark Kingsbury Assistant. Reception to follow at the church. Very special thanks to nursing staff of 9B Centennial for their thoughtfulness and care. Family flowers only. Passed away peacefully at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Friday, December 22, 2006, Dorothy Jane LeRiche of Port aux Basques at the age of 80 years. Born at Petites she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Beatrice Voutier (nee Hann). She was also predeceased by her husband, Phillip LeRiche; sons, Roy and Robert LeRiche; grandson, Darren LeRiche; and brothers, Don and Clyde Voutier. Passed away at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Centre on Thursday, December 28, 2006, Marcella Patten of Codroy at the age of 73. Born at Codroy she was the daughter of the late Levinia and Morgan Gallop. Marcella leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband, Paul of 49 years of marriage; and children, Debbie Ryan of Codroy, Joan (Francis) Luedee of St. Andrew's, Ed Patten of Yellowknife, Sandra (Roger) Hann of Codroy, Robert (Aneita) Patten of Enfield, NS, Glynn (Cheryl) Patten of Dartmouth, NS, Rosanne (Tom) Oregan of Great Codroy, Paul (Leona) Patten of Halifax, NS, Bradley (Mary) Patten of Halifax; 22 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brothers, Clifford (Sophia) Gallop of Woodville, Kyrl (Germaine) Gallop of Halifax, NS; sisters, Mildred Samms, Sylvia Morris, Etta (John) Colbourne all of Codroy; sister-in-law, Adaline Gallop; and brother-in-law, Angus MacDonald and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Levinia and Morgan Gallop; brothers, Gordon Gallop, Emmanuel Gallop; sister, Ada MacDonald; son-in-law, George Ryan Sr.; brothers-in-law, James Samms and Richard Morris. Visitation took place on Saturday 2-4 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home, Sunday and Monday at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Upper Ferry. Funeral Mass took place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at St. Anne's Church officiated by Father Lee Lainey. Interment followed at Mt. St. Thomas Cemetery. Passed away at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre, Port aux Basques, on Thursday, December 28, 2006 Brian Edward Arthur Peat formerly of Newmarket, Ontario at the age of 62 years. He leaves to mourn his wife, Marie of South Branch; his children, Todd (Tracy) Peat of Barry, ON, Tim (Barb) of Hollandlanding, ON; three grandchildren, Taylor, Travis and Rylie; mother, Eleanor Peat of Newmarket, ON; sister, Karen Harnden of Caledon, ON; niece, Cindy; and nephew, Terry; stepchildren, Fabian (Betty) MacIsaac of Hollandlanding, ON, Barb (Brian) Chase of Burwell, ON, Lorraine (Malcolm King) of St. Fintan's, Kevin MacIsaac of BC, Norma (Jack King) of St. Fintan's, Don MacIsaac of Innisfil, ON, Damian MacIsaac of BC, and Dominic MacIsaac of BC; 10 step-grandchildren, nine great step-grandchildren and a large circle of friends.
