ENGLISH, Allan James
(March 11, 1925 - December 20, 2016)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Allan James English announces his peaceful passing surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday December 20 at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center at the age of 91 years. Allan was the son of the late Patrick and Catherine English. He was also predeceased by his son Artie, daughter Ann Marie, grandson AJ, sisters; Mary, Theresa, Catherine, Elsie, brothers; Billy, Pat, Johnny. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of precious memories his devoted wife Marjorie (nee MacIsaac) of 63 years. Loving father of Barbara (David) MacNeil Doyles, Richard (Anna) English Dryden ON, Wanda English Doyles, Cathy (Dwain) Osmond Cape Ray. He will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren; Scott (Barbie), Lynn (Gordon), Aaren (Byron), Mike (Melissa), Kristin (Chad), Jeremy (Lisa), Dylan, Travis, Alan (Denise) and Troy (Sheliegh). Great grandchildren; Kayla, Kyle, Adam, Ryan, Casey, Claire, M'aliyah, Colten and Alan Jr, Brother Leo (Jean), nephew Jimmy English and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Along with being a devoted husband and father, Allan was a man with a true passion for the outdoors. He spent many hours fishing on the salmon rivers and hunting in the woods of the Codroy Valley. He had a career with the Department of Transportation and worked there until his retirement. He was a friend to all and will surely be missed by anyone one who was fortunate enough to have had him as a part of their lives. To honour his wishes cremation has taken place. A mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday January 7, 11 am at St. Ann's RC Church in Upper Ferry officiated by Father Lee Lainey, interment to follow at Mount St. Thomas RC Cemetery. GOSSE, Harold
1938-2016
Harold Edwin Gosse
, 78, of Moncton, passed away on Monday December 26, 2016 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born on December 11, 1938 in Dildo, Trinity Bay, NL, he was the son of the late Richard Gosse of Spaniard's Bay, NL and Jessie May "Jessie" (Newhook) Gosse of Dildo, TB, NL.
Prior to his retirement from Marine Atlantic as an Assistant Terminal Manager, Harold was an electrician by trade. Loved by everyone who knew him, Harold had a zest for life, a quick wit that always made you laugh and always had a positive attitude towards everything. He was a devoted family man who loved his family as they did him. He never complained of his daily struggle with Parkinson for 23 + years, during which his well-being was assured by Mom's incredible devotion with her unconditional love and care.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Alfreda "Freda" (Sheaves); two children: Katherine "Kathy" Gosse (Gilles Pitre) and Jake, his furry companion of Moncton, and Paul Gosse (Sophie), one granddaughter, Hayley Gosse of Cornwall, ON; two step-granddaughters: Lauren and Jillian Hunt; one step-great-granddaughter, baby Caroline; seven siblings: Roy Gosse (Rosalind) of Dildo, TB, NL, Raymond Gosse (Marjorie) of Blaketown, TB, NL, Elaine Reid (Spencer) of Old Shop, TB, NL, Alma Pollett (Cliff) and Glenda Noseworthy (Terry), both of New Harbor, TB, NL, Wayne Gosse (Helen) of New Glasgow, NS, and sister-in-law of his predeceased brother, Maxwell "Lloyd" Gosse, Hilda Sheppard (Frank) of Clarenville, NL; as well as many nieces and nephews.
By request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. A funeral service will be celebrated in the summer at St. James Anglican Church in Port-aux-Basques, NL. Interment will be in St. James Anglican cemetery. In memory of Harold, a contribution to the Parkinson Society would be appreciated. INGRAM, OLIVE MAY
February 17, 1935 – December 20, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Olive May Ingram (nee Hillard) announces her passing on Tuesday, December 20, at Dr., Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 81 years. Born at Cape Anguille, Olive was the daughter of the late James and Harriet Hilliard. She was predeceased by her husband Monford Ingram; sisters, Annie, Bernice; brothers, Walter, Cliff, James R; brother in law George and sister in law Lillian. She leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories her children: Mary (Leonard) Patry, Jim Fiander (Susan), Edward Fiander (Lisa); grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jamie; great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Levia; sisters, Doris Anderson, Joan (Steve) Hilliard; brother John Hilliard; sister in law Minnie Hilliard and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. In keeping with her wishes a private family visitation took place followed by cremation. Interment will take place at a later date. Passed away peacefully at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Thursday, December 29, 2016, at the age of 80. Born in Hunts Island, she was the daughter of the late John and Caroline (Chant) Ingram. She will be sadly missed by her loving family, sons, Calvin (Patsy) Leamon, David Leamon, James Leamon, daughters, Irene (Kenneth) Poirier and Jessie Leamon, granddaughters, Cathy Leamon, Nadine Leamon, Kelly Poirier, and Terrilynn Leamon, brothers and sisters, Louis Ingram, Margaret Hann, Calvin Ingram, Wayne Ingram, Cora Tom and Kay Mercer, as well a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil, sisters, Hattie Hann and Emily Ingram. The family received family and friends at Fillatre's Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Port-aux-Basques on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service took place on Wednesday, January 4 at 11 a.m. from Wesley United Church with Rev. Kathleen Anderson officiating. Interment followed at Wesley United Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mamie can be made to Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre Foundation. NEIL, ALMA SARAH
June 24, 1938 – December 30, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alma Sarah Neil (nee LaFosse) announces her peaceful passing on Friday, December 30 at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 78 years. Born at Parsons Harbour, Alma was the daughter of the late George and Ellen LaFosse. She was predeceased by her husband Bill, sons Charlie, Darrell, brothers; Charles, Ralph, Jack, mother and father in law Gladys and John Neil and many brothers and sisters in law. She leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories her children; Janice (Lloyd) Bragg, Louise (Marvin) Strickland, Gerald (Slema) Neil, John (Karen) Neil, Charlene Neil, Colin Neil. Proud grandmother of Michelle (Jim), Mike (Krista), Chad (Karen), Stacey, Wade (Danielle), Gerard (Kayla), Tori, Orillia (Maurice), Jonathan (Melissa), Angelique, Hillary (Skylar), Nicholas, Shannon, Aselin. She will also be sadly missed by her 10 great grandchildren, four great, great grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered by her special friends at Mountain Hope Manor; Gladys Lawrence, Sadie Shears, Doug Osmond, Clayton Pink, Todd Osmond and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. OSMOND, BEULAH EILEEN

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Beulah Eileen Osmond announces her passing on Thursday December 1, at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 75 years. Born at Lake's Brook, Beulah was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Lizzy) Osmond. She was predeceased by her grandson Christopher, sister; Jean Amsbaugh, brothers; Richard, Gerald, Jack (Phoebe), sisters in law; Rose Young, Margaret Osmond. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of precious memories is her devoted husband Philip Osmond of 59 years. Loving mother of Brian (Eileen) of the Codroy Valley, Vernon (Sherry) of Halifax, NS, Debbie (Shawn Seaward) of Lower Sackville, NS, Diane (Gordon) Russell of Gagetown, NB. Grandchildren; Graham, Jeffrey, Joanne, Tyler, Kyle, Evan, Alexa and Darin. Her two special, very caring and compassionate caregivers; Carol Anne Reid and Natasha MacIssac and a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends, Beulah had a great talent for cross stitching, puzzles and talking to friends and family, anyone who knew Beulah was very blessed to have had her in their lives as she was truly a gift to everyone. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre, the Lung Association or a charity of one's choice. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation took place on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Margaret Osmond announces her passing on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre, with her loving family by her side. Born in Port-aux-Basques, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Cecily (Allen) Battiste. Margaret was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 54 years Arch and her daughters, Carolann (Gerard) Battiste and Wendy (Jason) Anderson, both of Port-aux-Basques; grandchildren, Mike Battiste, Kyle Anderson and Amy (Brad) McCullough; great granddaughter, Emma; brothers and sisters in law, Norm (Marion) Osmond, Roy (Grace) Osmond, Dave (Betty) Osmond, Ronnie (Joanne) Osmond and Judy Osmond, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by brothers, Roy (Betty) Battiste, Fred (Eileen) Battiste, Henry (Bertha) Battiste and sisters, Edna (Fred) Banks and Lillian (Windell) Herritt, brother-in-law, Don Osmond. It is with great sadness that the family of the late George Freeman Reid announces his peaceful passing on Saturday, December 31 at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 91 years. Born in Codroy, he was the son of the late George and Lillian May Reid. He was predeceased by his brothers William, Nathan, Walter, Arthur, sister Charlotte and brother in law Edward Samms. He leaves to mourn with many loving memories his only sister Dorcas Samms of Kingston, Ontario and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation took place on Tuesday, January 3 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Codroy from where the funeral service took place on Thursday, January 5, at 2 pm officiated by Rev. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Blanche Elizabeth Strickland (nee Roberts) announces her passing on Sunday, December 18, at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 90 years. Born in Hermitage NL, Blanche was the daughter of the late Thomas and Edith Roberts. She was predeceased by her husband Garnet, son Robert, brother Hartley (Eva) Roberts, sisters; Ivy (Philip) Sheaves, Effie (Harold) Rose and many brothers and sisters in law. She leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories her loving sons; Garnet Wayne Strickland Codroy Valley, Wesley Strickland Stephenville, Danny Strickland (Kim) Halifax NS. A proud grandmother and great grandmother she will be sadly missed by her grandchildren; Brent (Susan), Jillian (Tyler), Carlee (Chris), Christa (Marty), Alicia (Trevor), Danielle (Frank), great grandchildren; Lincoln, Ryder, Chelsea, Dylan, Izabella, Amber.
