DURNFORD, Edna
August 28, 1927 - February 23, 2012

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edna Durnford (nee Pink) announces her passing on Thursday February 23, at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center at the age of 84 years. Born at Cape La Hune, Edna was the daughter of the late Stanley and Berthannia Pink. She was also predeceased by her brothers Walter Pink and Roy Pink. Sister Susanna Piercey, son in law Freeman Dollimount Sr., grandson William Freeman Dollimount, and sister in law Annie Pink. She leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories her loving and devoted husband William Durnford of 68 years marriage. Loving mother and best friend of her children; John (Shirley) Durnford Devon Alta, Mabel Dollimount Pasadena NL, Berthannia (Sidney) Scott, Elizabeth (Daniel) Lawrence, Bill (Serah) Durnford, all of Isle aux Morts. Melissa (Dean) Short, Port aux Basques. Grandchildren: Andrea, Cindy, Florence (Onslow), Derek (Lisa), Roxanne (Kevin), Tammy (Rob), Raymond (Lori Ann), Jacqueline (Joe), Chris (Muriel), Holly (Guy). Great grandchildren; Soleman, Alisa, Megan, Corey, Skylar, Stacey, Brittany, Hayley, Kaitlyn, Brandon, Jamie, Belle, David, Emily, Sydney, Christopher, Emily, Braden, Andrew, Matthew. Brothers; Ken (Harriett Ann) Pink, Clayton Pink, all of Isle aux Morts, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and many friends. Visitation took place on Thursday evening, Friday and Saturday at Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Isle aux Morts. Funeral services took place on Sunday February 26, 2:30 PM at Holy Spirit Anglican Church, officiated by Rev. Duncan Granter. Interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. HORNE, Elizabeth (Betty)
August 17, 1939 - February 14, 2012
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Betty Horne announces her passing on Tuesday, February 14 at Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso, Nova Scotia, at the age of 72 years. Born in Channel- Port aux Basques, Betty was the daughter of the late James and Winnifred Bennett. She was also predeceased by her husband Claire, and brother in law Raymond Bird. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Betty leaves to mourn her children; Kim (Jim) Bouchie, Jimmy (Della) Horne, Chris (Carla) Horne, 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Sisters; Gloria (Yvon) Bond, Francis Bird, Carrie ( Frank) Osmond, all of Port aux Basques , one brother; Walter (Linda) Bennett, Halifax, NS, and a large circle of nieces and nephews. Visitation took place at Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso, NS. Funeral services took place at St. Agnes Church in Dover, and internment followed at St. Agnes Cemetery in Little Dover, NS.

KEEPING, Reginald
September 15, 1946 - February 10, 2012
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Reginald Keeping announces his passing on Friday February 10, 2012 at Dr. Charles L Legrow Center in Port aux Basques at the age of 65 years. Born in Burnt Islands, Reginald was the son of the Late Helen and James Keeping. He was predeceased by his son (baby Keeping), brother John Chaulk, mother and father-in-law Effie and Robert Fudge, brother-in-laws Angus W. Keeping, Clyde Bateman, Minter Caines, William Lilly, Benjamin Cooper, Job Piercey, Robert Langdon, sister-in-law Elizabeth Cooper. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories wife Evelyn (Fudge) of 46 years, his children Barry (Shirley Enwood), Bradley, Adrian (Jennifer Keeping), Sharon (Roy) Lawrence, Dale (Arlene Meade) all of Burnt Islands; grandchildren Sheldon Keeping Sherbrook NS, Kyle Lawrence, Daniel Keeping, Victoria Enwood, and Paige Lawrence, step-grandchildren Cassandra Courtney, Blaine Enwood, Dylan Keeping and Tiffany Courtney, sisters Ethel Keeping Burnt Islands, Edna Bateman, Hilda Caines both of Port aux Basques, Helen (Cyrus) Graham Sackville NS, Ruth (Carl) Buffet Port aux Basques, sister-in-laws Amy Lilly Stephenville, Eva Piercey Grand Bank, Berthenia Langdon Harbour Breton, Alice (Joe) Piercey Burgeo, Stella (Jerry) Fudge Gander, brother-in-laws Nathan (Shirley) Fudge Marystown, Jesse (Emily) Fudge Cambridge,ON as well a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation took place on Saturday, Sunday and Monday at his residence in Burnt Islands. Funeral services took place on Tuesday February 14, 2 PM at St. George's Anglican Church officiated by Rev. Kris Gosse. Interment followed at Hillside Haven Anglican Cemetery Isle aux Morts Road. KETTLE, Calvin
July 9, 1947 - February 29, 2012
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Calvin Thomas Kettle announces his passing on Wednesday February 29, at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center at the age of 64 years. Born at Channel, Calvin was the son of the late Llewellyn and Eileen Kettle. He was also predeceased by his father and mother, in law Hilda and Wilson Walters. He leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories his wife Lorraine Kettle (nee Walters). Loving father of Glenn (Denise) Eastern Passage NS, and Wendy (Dean) Gibbons Alberta. A proud poppy and grandfather of his three precious granddaughters; Christena, Tamara, and Theresa. Dear brother of Howard (Pat) Victoria BC. He will also be sadly missed by his sister in law Linda (Bob) LeRiche Port aux Basques, nieces and nephews Karen, Dwayne, Nikki, Danny, and extended family members of the Gaulton family. Visitation took place on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place on Saturday March 3, 2 PM at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Grand Bay officiated by Rev. Louise Richards. Interment followed at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Donations in Calvin's memory can be made to St. Paul's Anglican Church Memorial Fund. OSMOND, Berthina
November 3, 1916 - February 19, 2012

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Berthina Osmond announces her passing on Sunday February 19, at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center at the age of 95 years. Born at Burnt Islands, Berthina was the daughter of the late Jabez and Rosanna Edmunds. She was also predeceased by her Husband William, daughters; Rose Young, Margaret Osmond, Grandsons; Stephen Kettle, Paul Charles Osmond, great grandson Christopher Osmond and her brothers and sisters. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, Berthina leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories her children; Philip (Beulah) Osmond Upper Rawdon NS, Nellie (Gerald) Lomond Port aux Basques, Ron (Mary) Osmond Kingston NS, Arch (Ann) Osmond Florence NS, Ralph (Dulcie) Osmond Lewin's Cove NL, Evelyn (Roland) Kettle, Alex (Karen) Osmond all of Port aux Basques, Wilson (Winetta) Osmond Sarnia ON, Jerry (Susie) Osmond, Charlie (Jessie) Osmond all of Port aux Basques, John (Sarah) Osmond Searston. 28 Grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 4 great, great grandchildren, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and many friends. Visitation took place on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place on Wednesday February 22, 2 PM at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Grand Bay officiated by Rev. Hannah Dicks. Interment followed at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill.
