CARTER, JANE ELIZABETH
October 31, 1943 - February 24, 2013

It is with great sadness but with many fond and loving memories that the family of the late Jane Elizabeth Carter (Warren) announces her passing peacefully at her home in Cape Ray, Sunday, February 24, 2013. She was predeceased by her mother Martha (Short) and father John Warren, mother-in-law Maria (Osmond) and father-in-law Isaac Carter, sister Virginia (Short) and brother Thomas Warren, brother-in-law William Carter, beloved son Robert Frederick. She leaves to mourn her ever loving and devoted husband of 51 years Frederick Isaac Carter, sons John Stephenville, Rex (Shirley), Tony both of Cape Ray, Scott (Erin) Dartmouth NS, Paul (Trudy) Gander and daughter Kim (David Osmond) Port aux Basques, grandchildren Betty - Lynn, Brittany, Hope, Justin, Emma and Abby, great-grandchildren Jasmine and Logan, dearest sister and brother Cedella (Alex) Hodder and Carson (Maisie) Warren both of Margaree, sisters-in-law Myrtle Warren, Cape Ray, Elizabeth (Gordon) Gosse St. John's, Shirley (Clayton) Hodder, Maisie (David) Lomond all of Cape Ray, Gertrude (Calvin Rose) Port aux Basques, brothers-in-law Steward Short (Jane) Cape Ray, Calvin Carter Bridgewater, NS and a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends. Visitation took place on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place on Wednesday February 27, 2 p.m. at St. John The Evangelist Church, Cape Ray officiated by Rev. Clayton Billard. October 5, 1938 - February 6, 2013
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Phyllis Francis announces her passing on Wednesday, February 6, at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 74 years. Born at Port aux Basques, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Stanley and Francis Chaulk. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Henry in 2006, brothers Leslie, Harry, James, Charlie, Wilson, sisters Eileen Warren, Anne Underhill, sister-in-law Priscella Chaulk, brothers-in-law Wallace Pearce, Ralph Francis, Harry Underhill, Clyde Warren. She leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories her loving family: children, Joseph (Pearl) Port aux Basques, Rosanna (Cecil) Spencer Kippens, Lloyd (Diane) Edmonton AB; grandchildren, Shawn (Stephanie), Brent (Diane), Kirk (Anali), Gregory, Melissa; great-grandchildren, Preston, Kael, Eden, Mckenzie and Lilly; brother Fred Chaulk Port aux Basques; sisters-in-law, Vivian Chaulk, Sheila Chaulk, Mary Chaulk, Irene Chaulk, Nellie Chaulk, Nina Pearce, Elizabeth Francis, Dorothy (William) Ingram; brothers-in-law, Max (Geraldine) Francis, Freeman (Rita) Francis and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. MacDONALD, Angus R
(February 8, 1933 - February 19, 2013)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Angus MacDonald announces his passing on Tuesday February 19, at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center at the age of 80 years. Angus was predeceased by his parents Neil and Catherine (nee Benoit) MacDonald, brothers Wilfred, Gerry, Kevin., sisters: Vera MacDonald, Dorothy MacDonald, Teresa MacDonald, Vera Luedee, Rose White. He leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories his brothers and sisters; Tommy (Von) MacDonald Miramichi NB, Eddie (Edna) MacDonald Wabush Labrador, Gean Targett Corner Brook, Celestine (Jon) Trent Portland Oregon. Brother in law Michael White Upper Ferry, sister in law Betty MacDonald (Child's) Lark Harbour NL and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and many friends. To honor Angus wishes cremation has taken place, and interment will take place at a later date. MacDONALD, Dolores
May 18, 1939 - February 17, 2013

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Dolores MacDonald announces her passing on Sunday, February 17, 2013, at the Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre, Port aux Basques, at the age of 73 years. Born at Port aux Basques, Dolores was the daughter of the late George and Nina Lomond. She was predeceased by: father and mother-in-law John and Emma MacDonald of Grand Bruit; and brothers-in-law Fred Bishop, Mount Pearl, and Stephen "Budd" Macdonald, Ramea. She leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories of a wonderful mother and grandmother, her loving family: devoted husband of 53 years Sidney Macdonald; sons: Gary (Jill), Mount Pearl, and David (Jackie), Port aux Basques; precious grandchildren: Brandon, Matthew, Lisa and Kayla; brothers: Gerald (Diane) Lomond, Gander, David (Maisie) Lomond, Cape Ray; sisters: Cammie Bishop and Doreen Lomond, Mount Pearl; brothers-in-law: George (Evelyn) MacDonald, Wayne MacDonald, both of Port aux Basques; sisters-in-law: Elsie (Harold) Billard, Kathleen (Wayne) Francis, La Poile, and Emily MacDonald, Ramea; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives , special friends and neighbours. Visitation took place on Monday 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port aux Basques. The funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 20th at 2 p.m. from St. James Anglican Church with Rev. Dicks officiating. Interment followed at St. James Anglican cemetery, Barachois Hill. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, at the age of 82. Born at Port aux Basques, Mollie was the daughter of the late John and Jane Battiste. She was predeceased by her husband James, daughter Linda, sisters Lillian Rodgers and Olive Clarke, brothers Thomas Battiste, Charles Battiste, Lewis Battiste, and John Battiste, daughter-in-law Holly McNeil, sisters-in-law, Martha Osmond, Elizabeth Ludee, Mary Matthews, Mildred Campbell, brothers-in-law Arthur and Fred McNeil. She leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories, her loving family, children Lewis (Kathleen) Torbay, Gordon (Marie) Cape Ray, John, Wayne (Paulette), Donnie (Glenda), Donna (Claude) Bragg all of Port aux Basques, 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, brother-in-law William (Elsie) McNeil Port aux Basques, sister-in-law Emily Battiste Port aux Basques, many special friends and neighbors and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Peacefully at his home in Cardinal with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at the age of 79 years. Dearly beloved husband of Ethel Melbourne (nee Ramsbottom) and the late Leni Marchand. Loving father of Robert (Marlene) of Belleville, Chuck (Darlene Rudolph) of Almonte, Claude (Tina) of Brockville, Brian (Dyan Wortman) of Cardinal, Debbie Childs (Ken Byrdge) of Iroquois and Barbara DeJong (Mike Horton) of Cardinal. Step-father of Judith Scott of Kanata, Thelma Scott of Kingston, Patricia Scott-Jeoffroy (Doug) of Aurora. Claude's extended family, Janet Melbourne and Skid Casselman. Cherished grandfather of David, Danny, Brooke, Chad, Claude, Krista Melbourne, Kenneth and Melinda Mellon, Kristine DeJong, Hanna and Emily Jeoffroy and Melissa Billards; great-grandfather to Sonia, Keshia, Lukas William and Alexander. Dear brother of Harold of Newfoundland, Murley and Shirley Updegrove both of Nova Scotia. Predeceased by his parents Emanuel and Ivy Melbourne; brothers Charles, Leslie and Rodney, sisters; Reta, Annie and Mildred and his son-in-law Andy DeJong. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Peter William Snow announces his passing after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, February 13, at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 48 years. Born at Port aux Basques, Peter was the son of the late Obediah and Annie Maude Snow. He was predeceased by his grandparents Thomas and Leah Strickland, Peter and Eva Snow. STONE, DAVID GLEN PHILIP
April 28, 1999 - February 27, 2013

It is with great sadness the family of the late David Stone announces his passing on Wednesday, February 27 after a tragic accident on Tuesday, February 26, at the age of 13 years. David was predeceased by his grandparents Samuel Northcott, Max and Caroline Stone and his uncle Glen Northcott. Leaving to mourn with many fond and precious memories of a wonderful son, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend are his loving parents: Michael and Wanda (nee Northcott) Stone; grandmother Susanna Northcott; aunts and uncles: Blair (Clare) Northcott Saint John NB, Keith (Trina) Northcott Blackfalds AB, Brent (Sheri) Northcott Whitecourt AB, Edwin (Krista) Northcott St. John's, NL, Phyllis (Reg) Carroll Margaree, Roberta (Israel) Strickland, Alfreda (Douglas) Walters all of Fox Roost, Maxine (David) Payne Paradise NL, Ivan (Virginia) Stone Fox Roost, Wayne (Wanda) Stone, Derick (Cathy) Stone all of Margaree, special cousins Shannon and Cecilia and a large circle of cousins, extended family and many, many friends. David had many passions in life, he loved hockey, spending time with his friends, making people laugh with his many jokes and pranks, hiking at Gros Morne Park with his Mom and Dad every summer, and hunting and trapping with his Dad just to name a few. He loved to build things and aspired to be an engineer because he took great pride when others could figure out how the things that he built worked. His greatest passion in life though was the love that he had for his family. David never let a day go by without telling his Mom and Dad, "I love you" even if it was said a thousand times he meant it just the same each and every time, his expressions of love and affection were very strong and will remain in the hearts of his parents, family and friends forever. A special thank you to everyone who has helped the family at this most difficult time especially Dr. Brake, Dr. Price, Dr. Graham, Dr. Blecher, nurses of the Emergency Departments at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre and the Janeway, also to all of the clergy who have given the family so much support. Visitation took place on Friday and Saturday at St. Augustine's Anglican Church in Margaree. Funeral services took place on Sunday, March 3, 2 p.m. at St. Augustine's Anglican Church, officiated by Rev. Maryrose Colbourne. Interment followed at St. Augustine's Anglican Cemetery.
