It is with great sadness that the family of the late Israel Keeping announce his passing on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at his residence in his 75th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories daughters, Beverly (Roland) Bragg, Port aux Basques, Coreen (Alvin) Keeping, Port aux Basques, Karen (Ken) Simmons, Kelligrews; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, special friend, Hannah; brothers, Wilson (Marie) Ontario, Ralph, Port aux Basques; sisters Mary (Frank) Corner Brook, Hilda (John) Isle aux Morts; sister-in-law, Martha, Port aux Basques. He is predeceased by his wife Rosie in 1979, parents Edward and Alice Keeping, brother Steward and sister Julia. Visitation took place on Thursday and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service was held on Saturday, January 8 at St. James' Anglican Church with Rev. H. Fudge and Rev. P. Ritchie officiating. FRAMPTON, Mabel Marie
age 68

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mabel Frampton announce her passing on Sunday, January 9, 2005 at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center in her 68th year. She leaves to mourn with fond memories, 11 nieces and nephews, Gloria (Raymond) Osmond, Chesley (Maisie) Frampton, Angus (Jo-ann) Frampton, Marjorie Frampton, Ellen Frampton, Jimmy (Alice) Frampton, all of Isle aux Morts, Gladys (Abraham) Leamon, Port aux Basques, Eric (Delphine) Frampton, Burnt Islands, Deanna (June Applin) Frampton, Brig Bay, Mabel (Alphonse) LeFrense, Dartmouth, NS, Charlene Frampton, Brampton, ON, 20 great-nieces and nephews, and 12 great-great-nieces and nephews, as well as a large circle of friends. She is predeceased by her parents James H. Frampton, 1963 and Harriett Mary Frampton, 1991; brother, James W. Frampton, 1989 and sister-in-law, Margaret Frampton, 1998. Visitation took place on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at Holy Spirit Anglican Church, Isle aux Morts from where funeral service took place on Thursday, January 13, 2005 at 2 p.m. with Rev. SHEAVES, Julia Priscilla
age 75

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Julia Priscilla Sheaves announce her sudden passing on Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at Central NL Regional Health Centre in her 75th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her children, Suzanne LeFrense, Diane Greene (Clayton), Wayne (Sharon), Gregory (Cindy); grandchildren, Tracy Rhodes (Ken), Raymond LeFrense Jr., Paul Greene (Mylynn), Dwayne Greene, Sara and Lukas Sheaves; sisters, Marjorie Pauls, Emily Comeau (Gerald) Church Point, NS; brother, John Mullins (Sadie) Rencountre East; sisters-in-law, Laura Mercer, Ontario, Ruth Butler (Gordon), St. John's; brothers-in-law, Roland Sheaves (Kay) Ontario, Nelson Sheaves (Evelyn) as well as a large circle of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her husband Edward G. B. Sheaves in 1994, two sisters and five brothers. Visitation took place from Fillatre's Funeral Home on Thursday, 7-9, Friday and Saturday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service was held on Sunday, January 16, 2005 from Wesley United Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. STRICKLAND, Henry Andrew Harold

It is with great sadness that we, the family of the late Andrew Strickland, announce his passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on January 12, 2005 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Born on September 10, 1950. He was the proud son of Max and Hilda Strickland. Besides his parents he leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories wife of 29 faithful years, Gladys (Stagg) Strickland; daughters, Patricia (Brad Simms) Strickland, Lower Sackville, NS, Amanda (Brian Detheridge) Strickland, Kingston, NS and Jody (Randy Chislett) Strickland, Rose Blanche, NL; two precious grandsons, Mackenzie and Andrew; brother Norman (Myrtle) Strickland, Port aux Basques; sisters, May Francis of Port aux Basques, Ruby (Chris Clare) Strickland of Lower Sackville, NS; mother-in-law Annie Stagg, brothers-in-law, James (Debbie) Stagg, Stephen (Bonita Billard) Stagg, Fred (Barbara) Smith, sisters-in-law, Bertha (Melvin Chaulk) Strickland all of Port aux Basques and Joyce Stagg of Kelligrews, NL, as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Andrew was predeceased by his father-in-law Bertram Stagg; brother James and brother-in-law Chesley Francis. Family received friends at Fillatre's Funeral Home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., January 13 and 14, 2005. Funeral service was held at Wesley United Church on Saturday January 15, at 2 p.m. with Rev. P. It is with great sadness that we, the family of the late Irene Keeping, announce her passing in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII, January 13, 2005. Born in Red Island, NL, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Frances (Scott) Cossar. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by husband, James; brother, Thomas; sisters, Mary Isaacs, Anna Hatcher, Edna Cossar, Eliza Hatcher; son-in-law, James, A. Meade, many nieces and nephews. Irene loved to knit and donated to the sick and needy. She was a former member of St. James' Anglican Church, Port aux Basques and she had been a parishioner of Church of St. Margaret of Scotland, Halifax, for the past twelve years. Family received visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, January 16, 2005 in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, Halifax. Funeral service conducted by the Rev. Dianne Parker assisted by the Rev. Arthur Cuzner took place at 10 a.m. Monday, January 17, 2005 in St. Margaret of Scotland Church. Family also received visitors at Fillatre's Funeral Home from 12-2 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2005 after which interment followed in St. James' Anglican Cemetery with the Rev. Hugh Fudge officiating. Donations in Irene's memory may be made to Anglican Parish of St. Margaret of Scotland. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories son, Walter (Mona); daughter, Myrtle Greeley (George); brother, George Leamon (Evelyn); grandchildren, Paula MacDonald (Mike) Paul MacDonald (Tracey), Kevin Greeley (Geri), Darrin Greeley (Mildred), Wade Greeley, as well as eight great-grandchildren, and a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew MacDonald, July 17, 2001; brother, Lewis Leamon; sister, Martha Cambell; sister-in-law, Gertrude Leamon and brother-in-law, Colin Cambell. Visitation took place at St. George's Anglican Church in Burnt Islands, Wednesday, January 19 from where funeral service was held on Thursday, January 20, 2005 at 2 p.m. with Rev. H. Passed away peacefully at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Monday, January 17, 2005, James Dominie of Port aux Basques at the age of 86 years. Born at Cape La Hune, he was the son of the late James William and Caroline Dominie. He was predeceased by his brothers, John, Randell, Ernest, Matthew and Henry; sisters, Sarah, Florence and Ada. James worked as a custodian at St. James' Elementary for many years, a job he greatly enjoyed until his retirement. He leaves to mourn with fond memories, his loving wife Ester of 61 years marriage; daughter, Ivy (Baxter) Gosse of Port aux Basques; grandchildren, Tony (Maricris) Gosse of Vancouver, BC, Tammy (David) Welshman of St. John's, NL; great-grandson, Tyler Skinner of Port aux Basques; brother-in-law, Edgar (Florence) Pink of Gander, NL; sister-in-law, Effie Dominie of Ramea, NL and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation took place on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home. She was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin; sons, Hickman, and Ernest and daughter-in-law, Sheila. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children, Willoughby (Doris) Munden, Diane (Winston) Blackmore, Ricky (Patricia) Munden of Port aux Basques, Roberta (Robert) Ferris, Barry (Sheila) Munden of British Columbia, Lorne Munden of Halifax, Benjamin (Arlene Carter) of Ontario; daughters-in-law, Ada and Sharon Munden; 27 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his brothers and sisters, Elsie (William) McNeil, Julie (Larry) Kempton, Maisie (George) Osmond, Viola (Jordan) Elms, Shirley White (Charlie Pynn), Doreen (Ernest) Dowding, Joyce (Matt) Young, Joan (Bert) Leriche, Norma (John) Murphy, Isaac (Marina) Short, Norman (Julia) Short, Nelson Kettle, all of Port aux Basques, Lew Short (Lynn Strickland) of Moncton NB; sister-in-law, Margie Gaulton of Port aux Basques, and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation took place on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home. COFFIN, Olive Hannah (nee Piercey)

May 18, 1924 - January 29, 2005

Passed peacefully away in her 80th year at the Knollcrest Lodge in Milverton, Ontario on Saturday, January 29, 2005 after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer's disease. Left to remember her love of life, giving, laughter and music are her three children, Myrtle Johnson (Eric) of St. Thomas, ON, Rose Staples-Payne (Hughie) of Corner Brook and Daniel Coffin (Kim) of Ottawa, ON. Also left to remember her with fondness are her seven grandchildren, Lesley-Ann Staples, Kelli Staples, Danielle Staples, Krista Hodgson (Anthony), Kent Johnson (Kim), Lisa Johnson (Jim), Jared Coffin; and two great-grandchildren, Adam Staples and Camdon Coffin. She was predeceased by her husband, Elias Giles Coffin on May 4, 1965; and her great-grandson, Aubrey Elias Johnson on January 5, 2005. Cremation took place in Ontario. A private family memorial service will be held in Port aux Basques at a future date.

Predeceased by his parents, John Thomas and Elizabeth (Lomond) Osmond; his wife, Phoebe (1999); sister, Jean; and brother, Cecil. Left with fond and precious memories are his companion, Rebecca; children, Richard (Karen), Lower Sackville, NS, Meta Pike, Port aux Basques, Margaret (Ward) Rowsell, Lower Sackville, NS, David (Nancy) Osmond, Lower Sackville, NS, Wade, Port aux Basques; and step-son, Elliott Pearce, Port aux Basques; grandchildren, Nicole, Pamela, Christa, Bobbi and David; great-grandchild, Jarrad; also his brothers, Richard (Daisie) Osmond, Scarborough, ON, Gerald (Nina), Port aux Basques, Gordon (Geraldine) Port aux Basques; and his sister, Beulah (Philip), Rawdon, NS; brothers-in-law, William Amsbaugh, Missouri, Earl (Ellen) Dodge, Grand Bank; and sisters-in-law, Meta (Jordan) Dodge, St. John's and Sarah (Ivan) Matthews, North Sydney, NS; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation took place on Wednesday and Thursday, February 2 and 3 at East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques. The funeral service was held on Friday, February 4, 2005 from St. James' Anglican Church, Channel at 2 p.m. with Rev. Hugh Fudge officiating. Interment followed in St. James' Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques 695-2300.
