AUCOIN, Anthony Wallace
September 20, 1928 - January 29, 2019

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Anthony Wallace Aucoin announces his passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL on Tuesday, January 29th, 2019 at the age of 90 years. Born in Coal Brook, NL, Anthony was the son of the late Narcisse and Julia Aucoin (nee Gale). He was also predeceased by his father and mother-in-law Martin and Salome J Murphy (nee Pearce); three infant children; infant brother Raymond Aucoin; brothers Hughie Aucoin, Murdock Aucoin, Johnny Aucoin, Arthur Aucoin, James (Edna) Aucoin, Hector (Bridget) Aucoin; sisters Gertie Aucoin, Marie (Brian) Peat, Helen (Fred) Dickenson and brother-in-law John Farris. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving wife Aileen Aucoin (nee Murphy) of 61 years; daughters Catherine (George) LeRiche of Port aux Basques, NL, Rhonda (Cletus) MacIsaac of Truro, NS; grandchildren Clea MacIsaac, Calan MacIsaac, Brad LeRiche, Tammy (Duftin) Emberley; great-grandchildren Skyler LeRiche, Quinn Emberley; sisters Josephine Farris of Sheet Harbour, NS, Margaret (Frank) St. Croix of Coal Brook, NL, Sally (Norman) Barkhouse of Port Dufferin, NS; sister-in-laws Lucy Aucoin of O'Regan's, NL, Barbara Aucoin of Halifax, NS, Margaret Aucoin of Coal Brook, NL; brother-in-law Bill (Bud) (Sandra) Murphy of Truro, NS plus a special thank you to his niece (caregiver) Gertie O'Quinn since 2011 before he went into Long Term Care. In keeping with Anthony's wishes cremation has taken place. The interment of ashes will be held at St. Sylvester's Cemetery in South Branch, NL at a later date. CHAISSON, Alma Jane
January 02, 1923 - January 22, 2019

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Alma Jane (Payne) Chaisson, 96, announce her passing on January 22, 2019, in Dartmouth, NS. Born in Ramea, NL on January 2, 1923, she was the daughter of George and Olive Payne. She was the wife of the late Charles Chaisson, with whom she shared 64 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2005. She is predeceased by her brothers Isaac (Rose) Payne, Lucien (Mary) Payne, Williard Payne, Claude Payne, Lorne Payne, sisters Margaret (John) Ford, Geraldine (Alfred) Anderson, and also by her son-in-law Ronald Strickland. She leaves to mourn her two loving daughters Charlaine (Brian) Hillier, and Elsie Strickland, grandchildren Troy Musseau, Tanya (Jason) Godreau, Daryl (Marie) Strickland, sisters-in-law Phoebe Payne, Kay Payne, Margie Payne. Additionally, she leaves to mourn her 5 great-grandchildren LaRoux Musseau, ChloƩ Musseau, Courtney Strickland, Erica Strickland, Sierra Godreau, plus a large circle of nieces and nephews. During her younger years, she had a very full life, and enjoyed such activities as swimming, skiing, dancing, bowling, cards, and travelling She took a special interest in the activities of her husband and family.
In keeping with Alma's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in the summer. Interment of ashes will be at the St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill, NL. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alma's memory can be made to the charity of your choosing. CHURCHILL, Donald Richard
April 18, 1946 - January 04, 2019

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Donald Richard Churchill announces his sudden passing at his residence in Grand Bay on Friday, January 4th, 2019 at the age of 72 years. Donald was the son of the late John and Amelia (nee Pike) Churchill. He was also predeceased by his mother-in-law Hilda Fowlow in 2008. Leaving to mourn with many fond and precious memories are his wife Beryl (nee Fowlow) of 50 years. Loving father and grandfather of daughters Angela Churchill (Lloyd Pink) of Port aux Basques, NL, Andrea Churchill-Parrott (Brad) of St. John's, NL. Grandchildren; Ashley Churchill (Johnny Muise) of Fort McMurray, AB, Thomas Squires and Jacob Squires of St. John's, NL. Donald will also be sadly missed by his brother David Churchill of Ontario, niece Deborah, nephew David Jr. and many friends. August 18, 1921 - January 15, 2019

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Garfield E Francis announces his passing on Tuesday, January 15th, 2019 at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL at the age of 97 years. Born in La Poile, NL, Garfield was the oldest resident in Burnt Islands, he was a hard worker who loved being on the water fishing and had a love for his dog Buddy. Garfield was the son of the late Jack and Priscilla Francis (nee Munden). He was also predeceased by his wife Emma Jane Francis (nee Courtney) in 2012; father and mother-in-law Charles and Jane Courtney (nee Herritt); daughter Alma; brothers Willis, Eric, Cecil, Peter, Bill; infant twins Willis, Percy; sisters Emma Mary Jane Francis, Charlotte (Philip) Courtney; brothers-in-law James (Meta) Courtney, Theodore Thorne, Clyde Bateman, Joe Warren, Albert Bond, and Cecil Hatcher. He leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories his loving children Morris (Charlotte) Francis, Janie (Roger) Keeping, Amos (Linda) Francis, Alfreda (Murray) Hardy, Edward (Grace) Francis, Priscilla (Kirb) Hann, Lonnie (Glenda) Francis, Dorman (Barbara) Francis, Michelle (John) Bryan, Dena (Gary) Hayward, Tena Francis (Megan Pike), and Calman (Felicia) Francis. He will be sadly missed by his thirty (30) grandchildren, twenty seven (27) great-grandchildren and one (1) great-great-grandchild. Born in Millville, NL, John was the son of the late Paul William and Selina (nee Smith) O'Quinn. He was also predeceased by his father and mother-in-law Joseph and Mary (nee Jennings) Reid; his first wife Theresa Reid in 1986; brothers Hector, Thomas, Martin, George, William; baby brother Alexander; sisters Theresa, Elizabeth, Mary, Pauline and special niece Madonna Hynes. John was also predeceased by members of Minnie's family; father and mother-in-law John and Bertha (nee Skinner) Osmond; brother-in-law Roy Osmond and sister-in-law Betty Simms. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Nina Beatrice Spicer (nee Hann) announces her passing on Thursday January 31, 2019 at the Long Term Care Unit of Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center at the age of 64 years. Born in Petites, Nina was the daughter of the late Percival and Eva Hann (nee Ashford). She was also predeceased by her husband Donald Spicer in 1990, sister Alice (Levi) Baggs, mother and father in law; Henry (Cassie) (nee Skinner) Spicer, brother in laws; Ross, Wilfred, Roy, Cliff and Reuben. She leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories her only daughter Donna Spicer (Mike Ford) of Codroy Valley, only son Dustin Spicer (Rachel Lively) of Halifax NS, grandchildren; Stephanie, Krista, Zach, great grandchildren; Blake and Caleb. She will forever remain in the hearts of her sisters; May (Michael) Best of Port aux Basques, Ida (Wayne) Herritt of Windsor NS. YOUNG, Franklin Delano
May 13, 1946 - January 25, 2019

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Franklin Delano Young announces his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL on Friday, January 25th, 2019 at the age of 72 years. Born in Charlottetown, PEI, Franklin was the son of the late Frank and Mary Young (nee Moore). He was also predeceased by his sister Patricia Mackenzie; Uncles James Moore, William Moore, Howard (Alice) Moore; Aunts Lena (Fred) Marshall, Paula Moore; brother-in-law David (Olive) O'Quinn and sister-in-law Bridget (Hector) Aucoin. He leaves to morn with fond and loving memories his loving wife of 37 years Doreen; children Scott (Sheila) Young, Stuart (Lucy) Young, Michelle (Michael) Sternig, Amanda (Kyle) Girgan; step-children Penny (Evan) Gilbert, Randy (Denise) Muise, Holly (Robbie) Gallant; grandchildren Karen Young, Tyler Young, Jordan Young, Austin Young, Madelyn Young, Taylor Mcleod, Chloe Mcleod, Randi Gilbert, Caitlyn Gilbert, James Muise, Kaleigh Muise, Christina (Adam) Luciow, Zachary Gallant; brothers Darrell (Yvonne) Young, Randell Young; Uncles Bruce Moore, Herbert Moore; Aunts Joan Moore, Greta Moore; brothers-in-law Grant Mackenzie, Billy (Barb) O'Quinn, Phonse (Leona) O'Quinn, Jerome (Lucy) O'Quinn, Robert (Gertie) O'Quinn, Allen (Diane) O'Quinn, Lawrence (May) O'Quinn, Ralph (Alma) O'Quinn, Stephen (Betty) O'Quinn, Joe (Irene) O'Quinn, Gary (Irma) O'Quinn; sister-in-laws Madonna (Lou) Reid, Brenda (Ronnie) Muise, Shirley (Kenny) Downey; good friends George (Pat) Foote, Fred (Marie) Manuel, Derek (Madonna) Kettle, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In keeping with Franklin's wishes, cremation has taken place. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 3rd at 1 pm from the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Codroy, NL officiated by Deacon Faye Coffin.
