SHEAVES, JOSEPH E.
April 11, 1928-July 1,2008

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joseph Sheaves announces his passing at home on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at the age of 80 years. Born in Port aux Basques, he was the son of the late Lewis and Mary Sheaves. He is predeceased by his mother-and father-in law, Maria and Cecil Strickland; brothers, Clifford, Louis, Lloyd, Wilfred, Fred and Eric; sisters-in-law, Madeline, Laura and Sarah; and brothers-in-law, Robert Strickland and Richard Fraser. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his family: wife, Dorcas of 55 years marriage; sons, Cecil (Beverly) and Bruce (Donna); daughters Sylvia (Gord) Savory, Joanne (Claude) Matthews and Debbie (Joe) Murphy; grandchildren, Wayne, April, Karen, Amy, Andrew, Kayla, Chantel, Katlyn and Sommer; great-grandchildren, Megan, Lucas and Brooklyn; brother, Robert (Florence) of Shelbourne, N.S.; sisters, Sylvia (Eric) Carew of Port aux Basques, Edith (Robert) Sheppard of Clarenville and Ruth Fraser of California, U.S.; sisters-in-law, Bernice, Eileen, Aneitha, Mary and Blanche Strickland; and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Visitation took place on Wednesday and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques. Funeral services were held on Friday, July 4, 2008, 2 p.m. at St. James' Anglican Church, Channel, officiated by Rev. Hugh Fudge. Internment followed at St. James' Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Funeral arrangements are in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300.

KEEPING, ANGUS PERCIVAL
Burnt Islands, NL
July 5, 1925-July 2, 2008

It is with great sorrow that the family of the late Angus P. Keeping announce his passing on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in his 82nd year. Born in Burnt Islands, he was the son of the late James and Susan Keeping (nee Munden). He leaves to mourn his loving family, wife of 62 years, Julia; daughters, Barbara Harris (Melvin), Marilyn Hatcher, Grace Baggs (Henry) all of Burnt Islands, Maxine Keeping, Freshwater, Placentia Bay, Arlene Keeping (Dennis Courteney), Burnt Islands; sons, Lome (Sherry), Hubert (Heather), Hickman (Nicole) all of Burnt Islands, Jim (Lorraine), Cold Lake, Alta., Perry (Trudy) Gander; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Queenie Enwood (Philip), Christina MacDonald (Ephriam); sister-in-law, Evelyn Keeping; along with a large circle of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by father- and mother-in-law, James and Frances Currie; son-in-law, Reginald Hatcher; brothers, Levi (Frances), Samuel, William (Clara); and sister, Abigal Croucher (Cyril) all of Burnt Islands. Friends visited St. George's Church in Burnt Islands from where the funeral service was held on Saturday, July 5 at 10:30 a.m., officiated by Rev. Nussey. Interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. The family guest book may be signed by visiting our website at www.fillatre.ca
