SHEAVES, JOSEPH E.
April 11, 1928-July 1,2008

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joseph Sheaves announces his passing at home on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at the age of 80 years. Born in Port aux Basques, he was the son of the late Lewis and Mary Sheaves. He is predeceased by his mother-and father-in law, Maria and Cecil Strickland; brothers, Clifford, Louis, Lloyd, Wilfred, Fred and Eric; sisters-in-law, Madeline, Laura and Sarah; and brothers-in-law, Robert Strickland and Richard Fraser. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his family: wife, Dorcas of 55 years marriage; sons, Cecil (Beverly) and Bruce (Donna); daughters Sylvia (Gord) Savory, Joanne (Claude) Matthews and Debbie (Joe) Murphy; grandchildren, Wayne, April, Karen, Amy, Andrew, Kayla, Chantel, Katlyn and Sommer; great-grandchildren, Megan, Lucas and Brooklyn; brother, Robert (Florence) of Shelbourne, N.S.; sisters, Sylvia (Eric) Carew of Port aux Basques, Edith (Robert) Sheppard of Clarenville and Ruth Fraser of California, U.S.; sisters-in-law, Bernice, Eileen, Aneitha, Mary and Blanche Strickland; and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Visitation took place on Wednesday and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques. Funeral services were held on Friday, July 4, 2008, 2 p.m. at St. James' Anglican Church, Channel, officiated by Rev. Hugh Fudge. Internment followed at St. James' Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Funeral arrangements are in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300.

KEEPING, ANGUS PERCIVAL
Burnt Islands, NL
July 5, 1925-July 2, 2008

It is with great sorrow that the family of the late Angus P. Keeping announce his passing on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in his 82nd year. Born in Burnt Islands, he was the son of the late James and Susan Keeping (nee Munden). He leaves to mourn his loving family, wife of 62 years, Julia; daughters, Barbara Harris (Melvin), Marilyn Hatcher, Grace Baggs (Henry) all of Burnt Islands, Maxine Keeping, Freshwater, Placentia Bay, Arlene Keeping (Dennis Courteney), Burnt Islands; sons, Lome (Sherry), Hubert (Heather), Hickman (Nicole) all of Burnt Islands, Jim (Lorraine), Cold Lake, Alta., Perry (Trudy) Gander; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Queenie Enwood (Philip), Christina MacDonald (Ephriam); sister-in-law, Evelyn Keeping; along with a large circle of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by father- and mother-in-law, James and Frances Currie; son-in-law, Reginald Hatcher; brothers, Levi (Frances), Samuel, William (Clara); and sister, Abigal Croucher (Cyril) all of Burnt Islands. Friends visited St. George's Church in Burnt Islands from where the funeral service was held on Saturday, July 5 at 10:30 a.m., officiated by Rev. Nussey. Hubert Benjamin Enwood
April 10, 1923 - July 7, 2008

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hubert Benjamin Enwood announces his passing on Monday, July 7 at the age of 85 years. Born in Burnt Islands he was the son of the late Albert and Florence Enwood. He is predeceased by his brothers, Levi Enwood, Johnny and Samuel Miles and grandson, Jimmy Enwood. He leaves to mourn with fond and previous memories his family: wife, Sussana of 64 years marriage; daughters, Audrey (Arthur) Best of Rose Blanche, Eva (Noble) Kettle of Moncton, NB, Bessie (Charlie) Samson of Tumble Ridge, BC, Phyllis (John) Shaw of the Yukon, Goldie (Darcy) Hardy of Port aux Basques, Marina Enwood of the Yukon, and Deanna (Chris) Goucher of St. John’s; sons, Harvey (Geraldine) Enwood of Burnt Islands, Albert (Selena) Enwood of Rose Blanche, Hubert (Jenny) Enwood of Fort McMurray, Alta.; and Bruce (Debbie) Enwood of Halifax, NS; 27 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; brother, Phillip (Queenie) Enwood of Burnt Islands; sisters-in-law, Francis Jane Enwood of Burnt Islands and Audrey Hartfield of England; and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Visitation took place on Tuesday and Wednesday at Mr. Enwood’s residence in Burnt Islands. Funeral services were held on July 10 at 2:30 p.m. at St. George’s Church, Burnt Islands, officiated by Rev. George Reuben Hibbs
October 1, 1935 - July 8, 2008

It is with great sadness that the family of the late George Reuben Hibbs announces his passing on Tuesday, July 8, at the age of 72 years. Born in St. Andrews, he was the son of the late James and Elizabeth Hibbs. He is predeceased by brothers, William Hibbs, Kenneth Hibbs, Sam (Veronica) Hibbs and Reg Hibbs; and sisters, Lucy (Lee) Smith, Annie (Tom) Lewis and Marcella Hibbs. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his family: wife, Sheila “Catherine” of 50 years marriage; sons, Albert Hibbs of Upper Ferry, Howard (Sandra Samson) Hibbs of Halifax and George William Hibbs of Fort McMurray; daughter, Dorothy Hibbs of Upper Ferry; brother Gordon (Anne) Hibbs of St. Andrews; sister, Ethel (Michael) Chaisson of Searston; brothers-in-law, Thaddeus (Sandra) Pickup of Everett, Ont., and Martin (Carolyn) Pickup of Sydney Mines, Cape Breton; sisters-in-law, Nancy (Darrel) Day of Michigan, Norma (Ralph) Laxton of Alliston, Ont., and Lorraine Hibbs of St. Andrews; aunt-in-law, Mary Pickup of Port Hawkesbury, NS; and many other family and friends. Nellie Lawrence
December 8, 1917 - July 14, 2008

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Nellie Lawrence announces her passing on Monday, July 14, at the age of 90 years. Born in Milltown Bay D’Espoir, she is the daughter of the late George and Hannah Roberts. She is predeceased by her husband, Willis of Burnt Islands; brothers, Joshua (Lydia) and Chesley of Milltown; sisters, Ethel, Nina of Bedford, NS, and Dorothy Boutlier (George) of Halifax, NS; and son, Earl (Christina) of Burnt Islands. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her family: sister, Janet (Morgan) Marshall of Milltown, Bay D’Espoir; sons, Walter, Gerald (Ethel) of Burnt Islands, Willie (Beatrice) of Isle aux Morts and Willis (Viola) of Rose Blanche; daughter, Ada (Bill) Hardy of Fox Creek, Alta.; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Visitation took place on Monday 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at St. George’s Church, Burnt Islands. Funeral services, officiated by Rev. ADA BILLARD
July 1,1925- July 23, 2008

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ada Billard announces her passing on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at the age of 83 years. Born in Margaree she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine Ingram. She is predeceased by her husband, Gordon and sister, Loretta Ingram. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her family, daughters, Joan (Albert) Herritt of Rose Blanche and Bernice (Ephraim Davis) Billard of Port aux Basques; son, Kelvin (Roma) Billard of Margaree; grandchildren Shawn, Dean, Steven, Nicole, Lisa and Lori; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Lucas, Andrew, Jennifer and Logan; brother, James Ingram of Margaree; sisters-in-law, Caroline Warren and Effie Billard, both of Margaree and special caregivers Elizabeth Meade and Marlene Wadden. Ada will be especially missed by her niece, Mary (Alman) Carter. Visitation took place Wednesday 7-9 p.m., Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at St. Augustine's Church, Margaree. Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 26, 2008, 12:30 p.m. at St. Augustine's Church, Margaree, officiated by Rev. Duncan Granter. Internment followed at St. Augustine's Cemetery, Margaree. Wilfred Berkley Mauger Sr.
April 6, 1949-July 26, 2008

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Wilfred Berkley Mauger Sr. announces his passing on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at the age of 59 years. Born in Port aux Basques, NL, he moved to Halifax, NS, in 1998. He was the son of the late Boss and Harriett Mauger, he is predeceased by his son, Wilfred Roland Mauger Jr., brothers, Herbert Mauger, Cecil Mauger and James Mauger. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories wife, Rose of 42 years marriage, daughter, Nicole Mauger of Halifax, NS, grandsons, Patrick Herritt of Deer Island, NB, and Jonathan Mauger of Isle aux Morts, granddaughter, Jessica Mauger and daughter-in-law, Pam Mauger, both of Isle aux Morts, sister, Elise (Donald) Organ of La Poile and brother, Dan Mauger of Codroy, NL, and many other family members and friends. Visitation took place on Monday, 7-9 p.m.; Tuesday and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at St. Michael's and All Angels Church, Rose Blanche. Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 31, 2 p.m. at St. Michael's and All Angels Church, Rose Blanche, officiated by Rev. Clayton Billard. He is predeceased by his brother Ed Sheaves, sister Laura Mercer, sisters-in-law Prisilla Sheaves and Florence Sheaves and brother-in-law Edward "Ted" Mercer. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his family, wife of 49 years Evelyn Sheaves of Port aux Basques; sons, Allan (Colette) Sheaves of Bale Verte, Rick (Theresa Bond) Sheaves and Roland (Colleen Organ) Sheaves both of Port aux Basques; daughter, Barbara (Aubrey) Brenton of St. John's; grandchildren, Shane, Adam, Nikita, Jenna, Noah, Stephen and Amy; sister Ruth (Gordon) Butler of St. John's; brother, Roland (Kay) Sheaves of Toronto and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Following cremation, visitation took place on Wednesday 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques.
