BURTE, Thomas Henry
1957-2015
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Thomas Henry Burte announces his passing on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at the Dr.Charles LeGrow Health Center with his loving sisters by his side. Born in North Sydney he was the son of the late Andrew and Myrtle (Fudge) Burte. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his sisters, Jane (Ian Fudge), Elizabeth Knee (Frank AuCoin), Ethel Keeping and Andrea (Steve) Peckford, many nieces and nephews and friends. A special thank you to his caregiver that looked after and care for Tommy, his loving sister, Ethel Keeping, Wanda Parsons, Jolene Chaulk, Artina Keeping and Peggy Keeping. He was predeceased by his parents, brother in infancy, brother-in-law, Clarence Keeping, niece, Tanya keeping and nephew, Sheldon Knee. In keeping with Tommy's wishes, cremation has taken place under the care of Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Port- aux - Basques. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. from St.Michael’s and All Angels Church in Rose Blanche from where the funeral service will be held on Sunday. August 2, at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Jeffery Petten. A family private inurnment will be held at Hillside Haven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations graciously may be made to the family. GALE, Pauline Marie (O'Quinn)
(June 28, 1928 - July 15, 2015)
It is with great sadness that the family of Pauline Gale announce her passing at the Dr Charles L. Legrow Health Centre on July 15, 2015 at the age of 87. She is predeceased by her daughter Linda, son Raymond, infant son John, son-in-law Lloyd and special niece Theresa, also her parents Paul William and Lena O'Quinn, sisters Theresa and Betty and brothers George, Bill, Tom, Hector, Martin. She leaves to mourn her loving husband Patrick of 67 years, daughters Lena (Jim Ryan), Marilyn MacIsaac, Marita (Glen Wells), sons Gerry (Judy), Donald (Cathy) Brian (Bonnie) Johnnie (Pauline), Allie (Martina), 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, her sisters Mary Olaisen and Willhemina Tobin, brothers John O'Quinn (Minnie), Ron O'Quinn (Mary), Jim O'Quinn (Betty) and Al O'Quinn (Tillie), sister in law Margaret Crouse and a large circle of nieces and nephews. Visitation 7 -9 pm on Friday, July 17, 2015 at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Upper Ferry. Funeral mass to take place on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 11 am with Father Lee Lainey officiating. Cremation to follow, interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Ann's Parish Video and Sound System, Box 759, RR#1, Doyles, NL A0N 1J0 or to a charity of one's choice. HALL, Hubert Joseph
1948-2015
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hubert Joseph Hall announce his passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 67 on July 2, 2015. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 41 years, Elizabeth, and two sons Peter (Courtney) and Benedict (Carla), as well as a wide circle of family and friends. He was well known for his involvement in the community, the Leading Edge Credit Union, St. Ann's Parish, and his business Starboard Woodcraft Ltd. (co-partner Kelly Tompkins) which flourished until his retirement. To all who knew and loved Hubert, his personality, kindness, and spirit were larger than life. Cremation and a celebration of Hubert's life have already taken place, as per his wishes. A future date will be decided for the interment. In lieu of flowers, the family wouldgratefully accept a donation to St. Ann's Parish to fund a project that was dear to Hubert's heart (St. Ann's Parish Video Equipment Fund, Box 759 RR#1, Doyles NL, A0N 1J0; (709)955-2250).

KEEPING, Dulcie Irene
(December 13, 1950 - July 7, 2015)
KEEPING, Dulcie Irene - age 64, of Gays River, NS passed peacefully at home on Tuesday July 7, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Port Aux Basques, NL, she was a daughter of the late Gordon and Elsie Belle Keeping. Dulcie spent the last 15 years as an employee with Marine Atlantic most recently working on the Blue Puttees between Nova Scotia and Port Aux Basques. Dulcie was very involved in sports including broomball, floor hockey, figure skating, hockey and softball. Her recent years were spent enjoying her time with family and friends. She was predeceased by her son Michael Stanley Noseworthy; sisters Juanita Sheppard and Sharon Seaward; brother in law; Horace Meade. She will be dearly missed by her children Gordon Noseworthy (Tracey Verge), Botwood, NL, Kimberley Noseworthy (Francis Reid), Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, Kevin Noseworthy (Shannon Kempton), Gays River, NS; grandson Kevin, Grand-Falls Windsor; granddaughter Courtney, Botwood; brothers Roderick (Margaret) Keeping Mount Pearl NL, Winston (Anne) Keeping, Richard (Katherine) Keeping, Roy (Norma) Keeping, David Keeping, Melvin (Faye) Keeping all of Port aux Basques, Kevin Keeping Prince George BC. Sisters; Leverne Meade, Loretta (Gregg) Pearce all of Port aux Basques, Venita (Jerome) Dennis Piccadilly NL, Joscelyn (Rob) Buckham Prince George BC; special friend Joseph Ford and his family as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Cremation has taken place under the care of Ettingers Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. A celebration of Dulcie's life will take place Sunday July 12, 2015, 2:30 pm at the Salvation Army Citadel, 93 Legrow Street, Channel-Port Aux Basques, NL . under the direction of East Haven Funeral Home Inc. Lieuts. Christopher and Tonia Street officiating. Interment will follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Family flowers only. (January 31, 1947 - July 13, 2011)
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hiram Keeping announces his passing at the age of 64 on Wednesday, July 13 at the Dr. Charles L. Legrow Health Center after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Hiram was the son of the late Percy and Lily Keeping. Hiram was also predeceased by brothers Donald and Lorne, brothers-in-law James Francis and Reg Dominie. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Shirley of 41 years, daughter Judy (Maurice Best), son Robin, granddaughters Danica, Gabrielle, Victoria and Olivia all of Almonte ON, brother Victor (Sharron) Victoria, nieces and nephews Charles, Melanie, Tammy, Melissa, Mitchell and their families, sisters-in-law Ruby Webber Winnipeg MB, Judy (Ervin) Francis Harbour Le Cou, Maude Francis Port aux Basques and Bessie Dominie Rose Blanche, brothers-in-law Gus (Mable) Dominie Strathmore AB, Cecil (Ann) Dominey Kingston ON, Winston (Mable) Dominie Wilmot NS, Walter (Barbara) Dominie Deer Lake, Gerald (Trudi) Dominie Salmon Cove and a number of nephews, nieces, aunts, cousins and many friends. Visitation took place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from St. George's Anglican Church in Burnt Islands. Funeral service took place on Sunday July 17, 3:30 PM at St George's Anglican Church Burnt Islands officiated by Rev. Duncan Granter. LaFOSSE, Margaret Sarah
(September 27, 1920 - July 17, 2015)
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Margaret Sarah LaFosse (nee Piercey) announces her peaceful passing on Friday July 17 at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Centre at the age of 94 years. Born at Richards Harbour NL, Margaret was the daughter of the late John Henry and Sarah Piercey. She was also predeceased by her first husband Thomas Barter, second husband Freeman LaFosse, sisters; Mary Piercey, Effie Stoodley, Flossie Wilson, Laura Piercey, Olivia Piercey, brother Garfield Piercey, and step daughter Maude Bradley. She leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories her daughter Mary (Lloyd) Mushrow Port aux Basques, son Kenneth Barter (Karen) St. John's NL. Grandchildren; Lloyd (Donna) Mushrow St. John's NL, Nadine (Harvey) Hickey Cape Ray, Madonna (Basil) MacIsaac Lac La Biche AB, Nancy Mushrow (Dave) Lower Sackville NS, Tammy (Chris) Leary PEI, Ken Barter Jr. (Sarah), T.J. (David) Bowerman all of Edmonton AB, Shelly (Ben) Cavanaugh Florida USA, Kenneth (Doreen) Bradley Dartmouth NS, Edward Bradley (Wendy) Halifax NS. 8 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends including her friends at Mountain Hope Manor where she resided. Visitation took place on Sunday from 7-9 PM and on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place on Tuesday July 21, 2 PM at St. James Anglican Church, Channel officiated by Rev. Clayton Billard, interment followed at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Margaret was predeceased by her parents William and Mabel Herritt and husbands Albert Parsons and Ronald Parsons, sister Mary (Garland) Park, brothers Aubrey (Debbie) Herritt, Albert Herritt, Budd Herritt, son in laws; Walter Heron, Carter Chislett, Frank Myles, sons; Melvin Parsons, Roy Parsons. She leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories her loving family; daughters Mabel Skinner (Ralph), Melvina Heron, Annie Chislett all of Rose Blanche, Lynn (Shawn) Horwood Port aux Basques, Marlene Myles Halifax NS. Grandchildren; Ruby, Paula, Roger, Tammy, Walterine, Jamie, Mark, Karen, Jennifer, Markus, Kari Ann, Sherri, Ron, Terry, Susan, Heather, Sharon and 24 great grandchildren. Mary Rose Colbourne. Interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts road. Flowers graciously accepted or donations can be made to the charity of one's choice. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Joseph White on July 9, 2015 at the age of 51. Born In Port-aux-Basques, he the son of Edgar and Melinda (Pearce) White. He leaves to mourn, his parents; children, Jeremy White, LeeAnne Ingram, Cory Anderson and stepdaughter, Mallory O’Handley; brothers and sisters, Edgar White, Pauline White, Dorothy (Calvin) Morris, Lori-Anne (Kenny) Ryan and Carolann White, nieces, nephews and friends. Cremation has taken place under the care of Fillatre’s Funeral Home.
