COURTNEY, Charlotte Victoria
Born: July 27th, 1935

The love of a mother is the best love that we could ever find. She is the one who watches us grow from birth to adulthood, often times doing without so we could have the things that she knew we needed. She teaches us many things about life but most importantly instills in us the importance of the love between a mother and her family and with saddened hearts we announce that on Tuesday July 4, 2017 our family chain was broken when our mother Charlotte Victoria Courtney passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center at the age of 81 years. Born in Lapolie, Charlotte was the daughter of the late John and Priscilla Francis. She was also predeceased by her first husband Clyde Bateman, second husband Philip Courtney, great grandson Rylan Francis, brothers; Willis Eric, Cecil, Peter, Bill, infant Twins Willis and Percy, sisters; Emma Francis, Mary Jane Francis, and a large circle of brother and sister in laws. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of precious memories are her children; Clyde (Joyce) Bateman of Lapoile, Joanne (Bill) Francis of Port aux Basques, Gary Bateman (Denise) of Rose Blanche and Todd (Sandi) Courtney of Old Perlican NL. She will be sadly missed by her 9 grandchildren; Marina, Christopher, Marigold, Gerard, Angie, Martin, Courtney, Blake and Reid, 8 great grandchildren; Brandon, Dylan, Jada, Hannah, Peyton, Kaylie, Graysen and Max. She will also hold a special place in the hearts of her brothers and sisters; Garfield Francis, Alma Warren, Jack Francis (Alma), Susie Thorne and a large circle of nieces, nephews, brother and sister in laws and many friends. Visitation taking place on Wednesday July 5 and Thursday July 6, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services taking place on Friday July 7, 2 pm at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Grand Bay officiated by Rev. Harold Harvey, interment will follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Flowers graciously accepted or donations in memory of Charlotte can be made to the charity of one's choice. DURNFORD, Isabelle
March 25, 1928 - July 27, 2017

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Isabelle Durnford announces her passing at the Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Centre, on July 27, 2017 at the age of 89 years. Isabelle was predeceased by her father James Currie, mother Dorcas Elizabeth (nee Strickland) Currie and her daughter Ethel Marie. Sisters; Emma (Leslie) Melbourne, Minnie (George R) Parsons, Miria (Ronald) Hiscock, brothers and sisters in law; Leslie Currie, John R (Martha) Durnford, Roy (Winnie) Durnford, James (Susie) Barter, James Ritch (Sarah) Durnford Jessie (Reg) Courtney, Alex Musseau, Clarence Morgan. She leaves to mourn with precious memories her husband Morgan of 67 years. Sons; Calvin (June) Durnford and Leslie Durnford both of Rose Blanche NL. Grandsons; Calvin Morgan Durnford of Rose Blanche, and Michael (Karen) Durnford, Kingston NS and 2 very precious great grandchildren Ethan and Emily Durnford. She is also survived by her sisters Ethel Musseau of Port Aux Basques, Bessie Morgan of Sudbury ON and sister in law Carrie Currie, Port Aux Basques and a large circle of nephews and nieces with a special thank you to Janet and Audrey. Visitation taking place on July 29th & 30th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at St. Michael and All Angel's Anglican Church, Rose Blanche. Funeral service will take place on Monday July 31st at 2 pm with Rev. Jeffery Petten officiating. Internment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery. Flowers graciously accepted or donations in memory of Isabelle can be made to a charity of ones choice. GEORGE, Shirley Elaine (nee Gullage)
March 8, 1947 - September 15, 2016

Shirley passed away peacefully in Moncton, NB surrounded by her family on September 15, 2016. Born in Port aux Basques, she was the daughter of late Vera (Jeans) and William Gullage. Shirley will be greatly missed by her partner, Jack Wilson; her children Kim Williams (Doug) of Londonderry, N.S., Ken George (Darcy) of Penticton, B.C., Gordon Wilson and Diane Wilson of Moncton, N.B.; grandchildren, Patrick, Oliver, Keenan, Madison, Seth, Cecilia, Susan and Kayla; brothers Wayne (Shirley) Gullage of CBS, David (Marilyn) Gullage of Clarenville; several nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was predeceased by her grandson, Colton and her first husband, Howard George (Furlong). As per her wishes, Shirley will be interred with her mother Vera in a family ceremony at the Anglican Cemetery in Barachois Hill on July 28, 2017. Everyone is welcome to a celebration of life at St. Paul Hall in Grand Bay from 3pm to 5pm the same day.

HARDY, June

It is with great sadness that the family of the late June Hardy announces her peaceful passing surrounded by her loving family on Monday, July 17, at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 76. Born in Harbour le Cou, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Mary (Dominie) Clarke. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her children, Terry (Doreen) Hardy, Rose Blanche, Paul (Thelma) Hardy, Peace River, Alberta and Rowena (Christopher) Guest, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She will forever remain in the hearts of her sisters and brothers, Dulcie (Clyde) Voutier, Martha Hatcher, Russell (Violet) Clarke and Daniel (Lorna) Clarke and brother-in-law, John (Annie) Hardy, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry Hardy, grandson, Christopher Hardy, and other relatives. Visitation taking place on Tuesday, July 18 and Wednesday, July 19 at St. Michael's and All Angels, in Rose Blanche, with funeral service taking place on Thursday, July 20 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Michael's and All Angels, with Rev. Maryrose Colbourne officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle-aux-Morts Road. LAWRENCE, Kathleen (Kay) Doris
April 14, 1950 - July 29, 2017

On Saturday July 29, 2017 our lives were forever changed when our special sister Kay left this earth to be reunited with our mom and dad Wallace and Lucy Lawrence, her brothers Les and Stan, sister Violet Strickland, and her brother in law Jim Patey. Leaving to mourn with many precious memories are her brothers and sisters; George (Cora) Lawrence, Laura (Jim) Drake, Tom Lawrence (Pauline) all of Port aux Basques, Sadie Vatcher Prince Rupert BC, Albie Lawrence, Jeannie (David) Anderson all of Port aux Basques, Maggie Patey P.E.I., Graham (Angela) Lawrence Port aux Basques. Her only Godson, David Anderson, sister in law Diane Lawrence both of Port aux Basques and a large circle of nieces, nephews, neighbours and many friends. Visitation took place on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place on Wednesday August 2, 2 pm at the Salvation Army Citadel, Grand Bay, officiated by Maurice Collins. LEAMON, Gerald William
July 10, 1960 - July 28, 2017

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gerald William Leamon announces his passing on Friday July 28, 2017 at the Health Sciences Center in St. John's at the age of 57 years. Gerald was predeceased by his mother and father William and Ethel Jane Leamon, sister Darlene Joanne and mother in law Marjorie Mauger. He leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories his loving wife Gloria (nee Mauger) of 30 years. He will also be sadly missed by children; Lisa (Jason) Lillington of Port aux Basques, Michael Leamon of Isle aux Morts, Chauntelle Leamon (Matt) of Fort St. John BC. Granddaughters; Brittany, Tori, Amber, Nikita, Alexa, grandson to be Jake William George and great grandson Grayson. He will also be fondly remembered by his brothers; Emmanuel (Denise) Sydney Mines NS, Lorenzo (Clara) Isle aux Morts, Scott (Cathy) Sydney Mines NS, Guy (Michelle) Louisburg NS Aaron (Tracy) Kitchener ON. Sisters; Violetta (Harold) Savoury Isle aux Morts, Maxine (Edward) Buttery Port aux Basques, Patsy (Claude) MacDonald and Roxanne Leamon (Donnie) Halifax NS. Brothers and Sisters in law; Brian (Eva) Mauger Burnt Islands, Joshua (Cecilia) Mauger Stoney Creek ON, Gertie (George) Lawrence Port aux Basques, Michael (Pam) Penny Port Hope Simpson, Labrador, uncle Junior (Sandra) Leamon Isle aux Morts and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. LeVALLIANT, Dolly (nee Carter)
Passed in: Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
Passed on: July 6th, 2017

Passed away quietly, aged 89, on Wednesday, July 6th, 2017 at Evans Hall, Parkstone Enhanced Care in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Predeceased by her husband, H. Brainard LeValliant; her son Ted J. LeValliant; her parents, James and Julia Carter; brothers and sisters Pearl, Maude, Eric, Robert, Isaac and Mary. Left with fond and loving memories are her daughter Debbie LeValliant (Christopher Hupman), daughter in law Margaret LeValliant, the loves of her life grandchildren Andy LeValliant (Karen), Holly LeValliant and Kevin Hines; and her precious great grandchildren Benjamin LeValliant and Morgan LeValliant; twin sister Margaret Fraser and brother Max Carter. Dolly was as her name describes. She was a doll. An elegant lady who was loved and liked by all who met her. She leaves behind a large circle of close and much loved relatives and friends. Family extend a special and sincere thanks to the Doctor, Nurses and Staff at Evans Hall, Parkstone Enhanced Care for their care and kindness. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life will take place Saturday July 15 at 1:30 in Atlantic Funeral Homes, 125 Sackville Drive. A reception will follow. LOMOND, Eileen
Born: January 12th, 1941
Passed on: July 12th, 2017

The love that we have experienced as a family is a love like no other. It molds the people who we become, it makes us strong, it keeps us close to one another and it always reminds us that the love between a mother and her children is the kind that lasts forever and that love will help take us through moving forward as we celebrate the life of our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Eileen Keziah Lomond (nee Taylor) quietly slipped away and was reunited with the love of her life, our dad Harold Lomond on Wednesday July 12, 2017 at the Health Sciences Center in St. John's at the age of 76 years. Eileen was the daughter of the late William and Annie Taylor of Rose Blanche, she was also predeceased by her brother Gordon Taylor, brother in laws; William Green, Richard Wilkinson, Edgar (Joyce) Lomond and Solomon Lomond, sister in law Betty (Edward) Kendall. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of precious memories are her children; Paula (Randy) Penney, Stephen (Trudy) Lomond all of Torbay, NL, Dinah (Corwin) Durnford of Pasadena NL. A proud grandma, she will be sadly missed by her grandchildren; Julia, Danielle, Mackenzie, Alyssa, and Paige. She will also remain in the hearts of her siblings; Phyllis (Ron) Parsons of Rose Blanche, Elizabeth Wilkinson, William (Ruth) Taylor all of Dartmouth NS, Edna (Roy) Sheaves of Port aux Basques. She will also be fondly remembered by her in laws; Eric (May) Lomond, Howard (Alice) Lomond, Hilda Green, Mildred (Donald) Hann, Dulcie (Bert) Chaulk, Ruth (Tom) Andrews and Tryphena Lomond. Eileen played many active roles in her community, she was in the Kinnette Club and very actively involved in St. James Anglican Church. Her greatest accomplishment besides being a stay at home mother and loving wife was being the founder of the Port aux Basques Figure Skating Club in 1972, which kept her very busy, but very happy. She could be found at the arena form very early in the morning to the wee hours of the next morning, promoting the club, planning ice shows and making figure skating dresses. She was nominated for and won the CFSA National Volunteer of the Year Award and the Award of Excellence Volunteer Recognition Award. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. The family received friends at East Haven Funeral Home on Sunday from 7-9 pm and continued on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A celebration of Eileen's life took place on Tuesday July 18, 11 am at St. James Anglican Church, Channel officiated by Rev. Marlene Harvey, internment followed at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Flowers graciously accepted or donations in memory of Eileen can be made to the Alzheimer's Society or to St. James Anglican Church. April 19, 1929 - July 17, 2017

It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of the late John Charles Musseau announce his passing at the age of 88 on July 17th, 2017 in Kelowna, BC. Born in Port aux Basques, NL, John was the son of the late Samuel and Caroline Musseau. He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Yvonne; his children John (Corinne), George (Karen), Wade (Darienne), Craig (Phyllis), all of BC, and Debbie (Brad) of NS; 14 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, sister Elizabeth Bond (late Russell) of NS, and brother James Musseau (late Lillian) of NL. He was predeceased by his daughter Sandra in 1951, brothers Gordon (late Eileen), Earl (late Emma), sisters Susan Gale (late Fred) and Priscella Chaulk (Fred). It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gerald Eugene Osmond announces his sudden passing on Saturday July 1, 2017 at his residence in Port aux Basques at the age of 60 years. Gerald was the son of the late John and Ann Osmond, he was also predeceased by his precious daughter Sasha, sister Alice Tapp (George), brothers; Albert Osmond (Vera), Emmanuel George Osmond, Harold Osmond (Shirley), Father and Mother in law Pierce and Catherine Osmond, brothers in laws; Darrell Osmond, Terry Osmond, Nelson Osmond, Harvey Parsons. He leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories his wife Una of 40 years. A proud dad and poppy, he will always be sadly missed by his children; James of Halifax NS, John, Jason, Josh, Jestina and Pierce all of Port aux Basques, grandchildren; Sasha, Amber and Lucas. It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we the family of the late Mary Linda Pike (nee Billard) announces her passing after a brief but courageous battle with cancer on Sunday July 30, 2017 at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 76 years. Born at Burgeo, Mary was the daughter of the late Stanley and Rita Billard, she was predeceased by her husband William Pike in 2004, baby daughter Mary Elaine, father and mother in law Willoughby and Maisie Pike, sister in law Joan Bragg, brothers in law Frank Pike and Alex Hardy. Leaving to mourn with many fond and precious memories her children; Dave (Wilma) Pike of Port aux Basques, Paula Pike (Paul Guimont) of Fredericton NB. A proud grandmother and great grandmother, she will be sadly missed by her grandchildren; Kelly (Tom) McDonald, April Shea, Krista (Konstantin Nasartschuk), Megan, and Emily, her precious great grandsons TJ and Nathan.
