GRAHAM, LESLIE GILBERT
Leslie Gilbert Graham
, 84, of Lower Sackviile, N.S., formerly of Harbour Le Cou, Nfld., passed away at the QE II Health Sciences Centre, VG Site on June 3, 2009. Born in Harbour Le Cou, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Harriet (Taylor) Graham. He is survived by his dear loving wife of 64 years Jean (Harris); sons, Cyrus (Helen) Graham, Lower Sackviile and Donald (Tammy) Graham, St. Catharine's, Ont; sisters, Evelyn Stroud, Shirley (German) Bell, and Hackey (Abe) Peters; brother, Cyrus (Gladys) Graham; grandchildren, Dean (Rowena) Graham, Jamie (Trina) Graham, Jean (Jamie) Hatcher, Joan (Willie) Parsons, Trina (Guy) Mauger; and eight great-grandchildren. Leslie was predeceased by brothers, Samuel and Russell; sister, Rachel and grandson, Jason in infancy. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held Saturday, June 6 at 1:30 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, Lower Sackviile, N.S., with Rev. James Haughn officiated. Burial took place in Oakridge Memory Gardens. A reception followed at the family home. Donations may be made to the Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre, Port aux Basques. RILES, John William
Sept. 9, 1935 - June 4, 2009

It is with great sadness that the family of the late John William Riles announce his passing at Charles LeGrow Health Centre in Port Aux Basques on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at the age of 73 years. Born at Harbour-Le-Cou, John was the son of the late Charles and Annie (nee Clarke). He was predeceased by his sister Rubina and sister-in-law Frances Riles. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his loving family: brother Abner Riles (Shirley); sisters: Nora Spicer (Maxwell), all of Rose Blanche, Rose Keeping (Roy), Burnt Islands; nephews: Dean Spicer (Deanna), Bay Roberts, and Cory Spicer (Gail), Port Aux Basques; nieces: Rubina Blackmore (Dwayne), Colleen King (Jackie) and Leona Keeping (Jason), all of Burnt Islands; three great nephews and six great nieces; good friend Gerald Jeans and caregiver Vera Stoodley. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 5th and Saturday, June 6th at St. Michaels Church in Rose Blanche, from where the funeral service will take place on Sunday, June 7th at 2:00 p.m. Father Andrew Nussey officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the charity of ones choice. Blundon, Mildred

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mildred Blunden announce her passing at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre in Port Aux Basques on Friday, June 5th, 2009 at the age of 84 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories daughter Margaret Bailey, Guelph, ON; son Lloyd (Micheliene), Orleans, ON; grandchildren: Corey, Wendy, Dillon and Kirk; great-grandchildren: Cassey and Madison; daughter-in-law Patricia, Ottawa, ON; sisters-in-law Betty Jones, St. John's and Ernestines Jones, Bay Roberts, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by husband Llewellyn; son Wayne; parents Huldah and Titus Jones; brothers and sisters: Jean, Phyllis, Ruby, Gerald, Harvey and Owen. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port Aux Basques on Monday between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place from St. James Anglican Church on Tuesday, June 9th at 10:30 a.m. Reverend Mary Ann Boote officiating. COX, ALEXANDER
Aug. 17, 1913 - June 6, 2009

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alexander Cox announces his passing at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at the age of 95 years. Born at Rose Blanche, Alexander was the son of the late George and Harriet Cox. He was predeceased by his wife, Henrietta; brothers, George, Charles and Robert; sisters, Bertha (Fred) Blagdon, and Alice (John) Wells; brother-in-law, William (Vivian) Pope; and sisters-in-law, Katie (Ellis) Dinham and Mildred (George) Osmond. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his family: son, Robert (Phyllis) Cox and daughter, Audrey (Raymond) Musseau all of Port aux Basques; grandchildren, Robert Cox Jr. (Nadine), Dartmouth, N.S., Sherry (Bruce) Farrell, Port aux Basques, Roberta (Todd) Chedore, Quispamsis, N.B., Cindy (Bernard) Warren, Fox Roost and Tracy Beaton, Port aux Basques; great-grandchildren, Kendra, Katie, Clinton, Adam, Rebecca, Alexandra, Amber, Caitlin and Zachary; sister-in-law, Emily Cox of Rose Blanche; and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation took place on June 6 from 7-9 p.m. and on June 7 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place on Monday, June 8, 2009 2 p.m. at St. James' Anglican Church, Channel officiated by Rev. Mary Ann Boote. SEYMOUR, MAGGIE
May 29,1922 - June 7, 2009

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Maggie Seymour announces her passing on Sunday June 7, 2009 at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center in Port aux Basques at the age of 87 years. Born at Isle aux Morts, Maggie was the daughter of the late Thomas and Frances Foote. She was also predeceased by her husband, Eli on April 21, 1988; son, Willoughby on Nov. 29, 1952; grandson, Andrew on Nov. 25, 1997; great-grandson, Jackson in March 2007; and her brother, George. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Claude (Maude) Port aux Basques, Eli (Carolyn) Isle aux Morts, Reg (Marilyn) Halifax, N.S., Nathan (Dolly) Port aux Basques, Eileen (Walter) Doyles, George St. John's, Nfld., Ralph B.C., Colleen (Gary) St. Catherine's, Ont., Roy (Leona) Spaniard's Bay, Nfld., and Wayne (Grace) Shearstown, Nfld.; 25 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Meta Isle aux Morts, Vie (Randall) Halifax N.S. and Susie Sydney N.S.; brother, Nathan (Gussie) St. Catherine's Ont.; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and many friends. Visitation took place on June 9 and June 10 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place on Thursday June 11,2009 at 2 p.m., at St. James' Anglican Church, Channel officiated by Rev. Mary Ann Boote. Interment followed at St. James' Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Funeral arrangements were in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300.

DOWNEY, IDA JUANITA
Feb. 20, 1920 - June 12, 2009

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ida Juanita Downey announces her passing on Friday, June 12, 2009 at Dr.-Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques at the age of 89 years. Ida was predeceased by her mother and father, Catherine and Placide White; husband Raymond Downey Sr.; brothers Bill, Tom, Jack and Hughie; and sisters Mary and Lucy. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her only son Raymond Jr. (Denise) Downey of O'Regan's; grandchildren Corey Downey, P.E.I., Amanda Downey, Fort McMurray, Alta, and Rebecca Downey of O'Regan's; sisters Tilley O'Neil and Dot Doyle both of Stephenville, NL; and a large circle of extended family, nieces, nephews and many friends. To honour Ida's wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation took place on June 22, at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Upper Ferry. Funeral mass took place on Tuesday, June 23, 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church officiated by Father Lee Lainey. Interment followed at Mount St. Thomas Roman Catholic Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300. www.easthavenfuneralhome.com
