COUSINS, Annie Mabel
February 24, 1936 - June 19, 2012
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Annie
Mabel Cousins (nee Buttery) announces her passing on Tuesday
June 19, at Dr. Charles
L Legrow Health Center in Port aux Basques at the age of 76 years.
Born at Grand Bay, Annie was the daughter of the late Albert and Hannah
Buttery. She was also predeceased by her sons Scott Cousins and Jerry
Lomond, the father of her children Norris Cousins, brothers Charles
Buttery, James Buttery, Clyde Buttery, sister Mary Osmond, and brothers
in law and sisters in law. Left with fond and precious memories of
a loving mother are Annie's children; Albert (Ann) Cousins, Walter
(Fay) Cousins, Frederick Cousins (Della) all of Port aux Basques, Monica
(Ephriam) Harvey, Dartmouth NS. A wonderful grandmother to Joy, Patricia,
Jamie, Michael, Lacey, Barbara, Felicia. Great grandmother of Jarod,
Nicholas, Ella, Nicklaus, and Scott. Annie will also be fondly remembered
by her sister Betty Francis, brother Fred Buttery both of Port aux
Basques, brother Richard (Mary) Buttery of Ontario, her daughter in
law Marie Lomond, Grand Falls NL, her caregiver and special friend
Leona Kendall, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and many, many
friends including her church family at the Faith Pentecostal Tabernacle
in Port aux Basques where Annie was a long time member of the church
that she loved so much. Visitation took place on Thursday and Friday
from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques. Funeral
services took place on Saturday June 23, 2 PM at Faith Pentecostal
Tabernacle, interment followed at Faith Pentecostal Cemetery, Trans

HAYWARD, Calvin Alvin
Port aux Basques, NL
November 9, 1951 - June 13, 2012
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Calvin
Alvin Hayward announce his sudden passing on Wednesday,
June 13th, 2012 at the
age of 60 years. He will be sadly missed by his son Timmy; daughter-in-law
Sheri and the two joys of his life: Chloe and Megan; sister Evelyn
(John) Devison; brother Brian; sister-in-law Christina; nieces and
nephews, and his special family Winston and Ann Keeping, and their
daughters: Jackie, Vanessa, Shannon and Tracey, as well as a large
circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents:
Charles and Annie and brother Graham. He was well known in Port Aux
Basques as the usher at the Grandview Cinema and the custodian at
Marine Atlantic. He leaves us all with many memories which we will
never forget. "Cal, you will be greatly missed." Friends
visited Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port Aux Basques on Thursday
and Friday. The Funeral Service took place on Saturday, June 16th
at 11:00 am from the Salvation Army Church. Interment followed at
the Salvation Army Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers

KEEPING, Robert Lloyd
November 3, 1952 - June 21, 2012
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Robert
(Bob) Lloyd Keeping announces his passing on Thursday,
June 21 at the age of
59 years at his home in Dartmouth, N.S.
Born in Port-aux-Basques, he was the son of the late Reginald & Violet
Keeping. Bob is survived by his loving & dedicated partner Harry
Mazerolle & furry friend Vinny, Son Robert, Daughters Tracy & Gina
(Dwayne), Special Friends Brenda & Leo. Sisters: Brenda Howie,
Glenda Feltham (Dave), Louise Haines, Brother Ted (Betty). In-laws:
Norma & Sam Chaulk, Dianne & Larry Peckford, Ruby Beaumont,
Joan & Jerome Pearce, Barbara & Nate Anderson, Raymond & Lena
LeRiche, Dave & Judy LeRiche, Jerry & Sandra LeRiche, Merrill
LeRiche, nephews, nieces, cousins and a wide circle of friends from
both Port-aux-Basques & Halifax.
Bob spent 27 years working with Human Resources in both Port-aux-Basques
and Dartmouth. During the course of his career, he took great pride
in helping people. He valued the many working relationships with colleagues & clients
over the years. He also treasured the many special friendships which
brought happy times & great memories.
A Memorial Service will be tentatively held on the property on Loch
Lomond Road in the Codroy Valley, Bob's "Special
Place" on
Saturday, July 7th. at 2:00 p.m. for those wishing to attend. Any donations
can be made to the Palliative Care in Port-aux-Basques.
He will be
greatly missed!!!

March 8, 1936 - June 24, 2012
Beulah M. Lane, 76 years, surrounded by her loving family, passed
away at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre on Sunday, June 24th, 2012.
Survived by one daughter, Dorothy Bragg (Calvin); 5 sons: Jim (Doreen), Joe
(Elsie), Sean (Elaine), Glen, Brent (Corinne); 15 grandchildren: Trudy,
Trina, Jimmy, Jeremy, Sonya, Joey, Sean, Lois, Monica, Patrick, Gillian,
Matthew, Mitchell, Michenda and Brandon; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters:
Marie Thomas, Muriel Fever (David), Barbara Baldwin; brothers: Stan
Baldwin, Ken Baldwin, David Baldwin(Jackie), Roy Baldwin (Patricia),
Calvin Baldwin, Derek Baldwin (Mary); sister-in-law Theresa McCarthy
(David); brothers-in-law: Frank Mosher (Marion), Don Gushue, Albert
Bannister and many nieces, nephews and a wide circle of friends. Predeceased
by her husband Joseph only one short month ago; her daughter Mary Elaine;
parents Augusta and Ken Baldwin; stepmother Violet Baldwin; parents-in-law
Rita and James Lane; sister Jean Mosher; sisters-in-law Mary Gushue,
Peggy Bannister and brother-in-law Arthur Thomas. Friends visited Fillatre's
Funeral Home on Monday, June 25th from 7-9 pm and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9
pm. The Funeral Mass took place from Wesley United Church, Port Aux
Basques on Wednesday, June 27th at 2:00 pm, officiated by Father Edward
Terry. Cremation followed with Interment at St Michael's Roman
Catholic Cemetery, Barachois Hill at a further date. As expressions

p.m. The funeral service was held on Friday, June 15, at 2:00 p.m.

August 27, 1943 - June 10, 2012
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Florence
Eileen Leheinsworth announces her passing after a brief illness on Sunday
June 10, surrounded by her loving family at Western Memorial Regional
Hospital at the age of 68 years. Florence was the daughter of the late
Charles Musseau, and the late Genevieve Gardiner (nee Blackmore) formerly
of Port aux Basques. She was also predeceased by her step father Bernard
Gardiner. She leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories
her loving family; husband Steven Ring, her children; Ken (Val) Macalpine
Winnipeg MB, Dana (Art) Nelson, and Dan Kohl all of Collingwood ON.
Grandchildren; Cody, Chalyene, Nicholas, Alysha, Julia. Sisters; Kathleen
(Andrew) Hogg Collingwood ON, Colleen Mills (Larry) Nottawa ON, one
brother Andrew (Pam) Gardiner Collingwood ON. Mother in law Audrey
Ring, brother in law Tim Ring both of Collingwood ON. Sister in law
Brenda (Radu) Cristescu Collingwood ON. and a large circle of nieces,
nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins of the extended Musseau and Blackmore
families, and many friends. Visitation took place on Tuesday June 12,
from 10 AM - 1 PM at East Haven Funeral Home, from where the
funeral service took place at 2 PM officiated by Rev. Hannah Dicks.
Interment followed at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill.

SYMES, Martha Anne
February 14, 1924 - June 3, 2012
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Martha
Symes (nee Sutton) announces her passing on Sunday June
3, at Dr. Charles L
Legrow Health Center at the age of 88 years. Born at Push Through,
NL Martha was the daughter of the late Emmanuel and Elizabeth Sutton.
Martha was also predeceased by her husband Emmanuel Symes in 1990,
son Frank in June of 1952, son in law Hubert Bungay, and brother
William (Stella) Sutton. She leaves to mourn with many fond and loving
memories her children; Annie of Moncton NB, Melita (Donald) Delaney
Stephenville, Alvin (Lillian) Symes Timberlea NS, Rosalie (Gordon)
Escott Roache's Line NL, Wayne (Rose) Symes Edmonton, Jocelyn Bryne
(Stephen) Port aux Basques. 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren,
one sister Emily of Ontario, and a large circle of extended family
and many friends. To honor Martha's wishes cremation has taken place.
A memorial celebration of her life took place on Wednesday June 6,
2 PM at St. James Anglican Church, Channel officiated by Rev. Hannah
Dicks. Interment followed at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois
Hill. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's
Society. Funeral arrangements were in the care of East Haven Funeral

TAPP, Eric Thomas
July 23, 1929 - June 25, 2012
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eric
Thomas Tapp announces his peaceful passing surrounded by his loving family on Monday
June 25, at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center at the age of 82 years.
Born at Cape Ray on July 23, 1929 Eric was the son of the late Thomas
and Gladys Tapp. He became a school teacher in Isle aux Morts in 1948
where he met his wife Maude, they married in 1950 and had 5 children.
Eric became a surveyor for three years before finding his dream job
at the Canadian National Railway in 1951. Eric's love of trains kept
him at his job for 33 years, never missing a shift before retiring
in 1984. He spent the rest of his life caring for his family and doing
the things he enjoyed. He was predeceased by his daughter Holly McNeil,
son Gerald Tapp, brothers John, Elijah, Chesley, sisters Dorothy Short
and Vera Tapp. Left with many fond and precious memories of a loving
and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather are
Eric's wife Maude Tapp of 62 years. His children; John (Joan) Tapp,
Jim (Colleen) Tapp, Vina (Kevin) Carter. Grandchildren; Melvin Leamon,
Ricky Leamon, Derek (Jody) Tapp, Kimberly (Jamie) Graham, Nikki (Jason)
Cook, great grandchildren; Brandon, Nickolas, Amber, Holly, Chloe,
Cameron, Nathan, and a large circle of brothers and sisters in law,
nieces, nephews, and many friends. To Honor Eric's wishes cremation
has taken place. Visitation took place on Tuesday from 7-9 PM at East
Haven Funeral Home. The funeral service took place on Wednesday June
27, 2 PM at the Kingdom Hall, Grand Bay officiated by Mr. Mike Fitzgerald.
Interment followed at the Jehovah's Witness Cemetery, Pasadena
