It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Ethel Chaisson (nee Hibbs) announces her passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL on Monday, May 28th, 2018 at the age of 87 years. Born in St. Andrew's, NL. Ethel was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Hibbs (nee Knowling). She was also predeceased by her husband Michael Joseph Chaisson in 2012; father and mother-in-law Simon and Margaret Chaisson (nee Gale); infant son; brothers Samuel (Veronica) Hibbs, George Hibbs, Reg Hibbs, William Hibbs, Kenneth Hibbs; sisters Anne (Tom) Lewis, Lucy Smith, Marcella Hibbs; sisters-in-law Mary (Albert) McNeil and Agnes Zelch. In keeping with Ethel's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 30th from 2-4 pm and a wake service took place from 7-9 pm at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Upper Ferry, NL from where the Mass of Christian Burial took place on Thursday, May 31st at 11 am officiated by Father Lee Lainey interment followed at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Cemetery in Searston, NL. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Ethel's memory can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late William Levi Durnford announces his passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL on Wednesday, May 9th, 2018 at the age of 97 years. Born in Francois, NL. William was the son of the late Arthur and Edith Durnford (nee Childs). He was also predeceased by wife Edna Durnford (nee Pink) in 2012; sister Janet (John) Priddle; brothers John (Hilda) Durnford, Reginal Dunford, Robert Parsons, Melvin Skinner; grandson William Freeman Dollimount; son-in-law Freeman Dollimount; mother and father-in-law Stanley and Berthannia Pink. GIBBONS, Henry Kenneth

It is with immense sadness that the family of Henry Kenneth Gibbons announce his passing on May 14, 2018 at the age of 89 years. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Alice Gibbons (Reid) for 62 years. He leaves his daughter Cynthia (Bob), son Douglas (Olga), granddaughter Sandi (Kelsey) Rhys, Eamon, Darragh and grandson Luke (Andrea) Rokley and Kaydence, with many loving memories, stories and life experiences. Henry will also be kindly remembered by his surviving brothers Harold, Doug, sister Audrey and family, brother-in-law Ernie (Peggy) and family, along with many dear friends, acquaintances of the town of Port Aux Basques and guests the Caribou Bed and Breakfast. Henry was a perfect, patient, witty, kind, and peaceful gentleman. He loved poetry and to tell a good story, often about the history of Newfoundland. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A combined funeral service for Henry and Elizabeth will be conducted at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road, Corner Brook on May 18th 2018 starting at 10 AM. Followed by a combined interment at Mount Patricia Cemetery.

MUSSEAU, Anna
Born: February 6th, 1932

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Anna Musseau (nee Browner) announces her passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL on Monday, May 7th, 2018 at the age of 86 years. Born in Dominion, NS. Anna was the daughter of the late Charles and Bertha Browner (nee McNeil). She was also predeceased by her husband Gerald in 2007. Anna was an honorary member of the CN Pensioners Association, a member of the 50 Plus Club and a very avid card player known to many. She was also predeceased by her sisters Julia (John) McCarthy, Josie McNeil; brothers-in-law James, Gordon, Howard (Patricia), Reg (Minnie) Musseau, William "Bud" Klippenstein, Joe McNeil, Ron Doyle; sisters-in-law Annie (Howard) Walters, Mae (Norman) Feltham, and Elizabeth Musseau. It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of the late Yvonne Maud Musseau announces her passing, at the age of 86 years, in Vernon, BC, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Port-Aux-Basques, NL, Yvonne was the daughter of the late George and Jane (Jennie) Gale. She is survived by her children John (Corinne), George (Karen), Wade (Darienne), Craig (Phyllis), all of BC and Debbie (Brad) of NS; fourteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and brothers Jack (late Jessie) and Carl (Bertha). She was predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years, John (in 2017), daughter Sandra (in 1951), brothers Jerome, George, Eugene (Edna), Fred (late Susan), Lorne (Joan) and sister-in-law Sedilla Gale. Born in Florenceville, NB, Mary was the daughter of the late Harold and Alma Cullins (nee Chase). She was also predeceased by her husband Douglas Oakes; three siblings Otis Cullins, Gary Cullins, and Patricia (Fred) Shaw. It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Maggie Jane Rose (nee Hayman) announces her passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL on Friday, May 25th, 2018 at the age of 75 years. Born in Cape La Hune, NL. Maggie was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Hatcher (nee Pink) and Ernest Hayman. Maggie loved to play bingo, play cards, watch The Young & The Restless, and sipping her whiskey and Diet 7-Up. She was also predeceased by her husband Wilburn (October 2016); daughter Phyllis Rose-Clarke (May 2017); step-father Philip Hatcher; brother Wilfred Burton; sister in law Sandra Burton; and mother and father-in-law George and Laura Rose. She will be sadly missed, and never forgotten, by daughter Georgina Rose of Port aux Basques, NL; granddaughter Lori Parsons-Wilson (Dannie) of Moore, South Carolina; and grandson Cody Parsons (Savannah) of Port aux Basques, NL. Visitation was held on Monday, May 7th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. in Port aux Basques, NL. In keeping with Ann's wishes, cremation will follow. Passed on: May 19th, 2018

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Gary Walters announces his passing at the Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL on Saturday, May 19th, 2018 at the age of 60 years after battling ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) for two years. Born in Burnt Islands, NL. Gary was predeceased by his father Wilson Walters; father-in-law Chesley Vautier; brother Derrick Wilson Walters and sister Nancy Ann Thorne. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving wife of 40 years Delores Walters (nee Vautier). He will forever be in the hearts of his sons Chesley Walters of Fox Roost, NL; Sheldon Walters (Catrina Tucker) of Mount Pearl, NL; mother Jessie Ann Walters (nee Thorne); mother-in-law Lois Vautier (nee Anderson); brothers Douglas (Alfreda) Walters all of Fox Roost, NL, George (Golda) Walters; sisters-in-law Nina (Larry) Meade of Margaree, NL, Joan (Paul) Comeau of Mount Pearl, NL; godson Corey Meade of Port aux Basques, NL; nephews Jamie (Trudy) Walters, Travis (Melanie) Walters, Joshua (Julia) Walters, Randy Meade; niece Daisy (Steven) Bragg, and several great nephews and nieces. He leaves behind a large circle of friends, especially Johnny Wadden, Wayne Farrell, Larry Meade also neighbor and friend Edna Vautier. Gary was kind hearted and always offered a helping hand. Those who knew him enjoyed his humour and zest for life. They also knew how proud he was of Chesley and Sheldon. Since the age of 17, Gary worked on the Great Lake boats. He worked hard to provide for his family. His heart always remained in Fox Roost. He longed to be home in the great outdoors: hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and riding his ATV with his buddy, Chesley. There were many cook-ups and gatherings at the camp. The family would like to thank the many friends who took the time to visit during Gary's illness. Gary will be sadly missed but will be forever in our hearts. Visitation was held on Sunday, May 20th from 7-9 pm, Monday, May 21st from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and continued on Tuesday, May 22nd from 10 am – 2 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. in Port aux Basques, NL. In keeping with Gary's wishes, cremation was followed and a memorial service was held on Wednesday, May 23rd at 3 pm from St. Augustine's Anglican Church in Margaree officiated by Rev. Jeffrey Petten with interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road, NL. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Gary's memory can be made to the family.
