ANDERSON, Margaret
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Margaret Jane Anderson (nee Taylor) announces her passing on Wednesday October 26, at Mountain Hope Manor at the age of 74 years. Born at Port aux Basques Margaret was the daughter of the late Albert and Blanche Taylor. She was also predeceased by her sister's in law; Frances Hunt and Geraldine Anderson. Brother's in law; George Hunt, Walter Anderson, Montford Anderson, William Anderson, and Andrew Kendall. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her loving family; husband Stanley of 55 years. Daughters; Ellen (Danny) Hatcher Burnt Islands, Carol-Ann (Reg) Knott Halifax NS, Dianne (Michael) Downey O'Regans, Roxanne (Roland) Keeping Port aux Basques. Sons; Stanley Jr. (Pauline) Anderson Burnt Islands, Troy Anderson (Tricia Harpe) Alberta, Christopher (Kyla) Anderson Brandon MB. Grandchildren Danielle (Wade), Shawn (Angie), Jeffrey (Juanita), Darren (Darren W), Allison (Rob), Kimberly, Gail, Andy (Crystal), Georgia. Great grandchildren; Dannie, Shanna, Miya, Johnathan, Benjamin. Brothers; Cecil (Elizabeth) Taylor, James (Georgina) Taylor, Albert (Katie) Taylor. Sisters; Elizabeth Taylor, Joanne Taylor and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and many friends including her special friends and caregivers at Mountain Hope Manor. Visitation took place on Thursday from 7-9 PM and on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place on Saturday October 29, 2 PM at Faith Pentecostal Tabernacle, officiated by Pastor Jamie Warren. Interment followed at Faith Pentecostal Cemetery. BURRIDGE, Russell
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Russell Burridge announces his passing on Friday October 28, 2011 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 61 years. Born at Port aux Basques, Russell was the son of the late Augustus and Mary Burridge. He was also predeceased by his brothers George and Philip. Sister's in law; Doris, Geneva, and Mildred. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children Amanda and Jeremy. Grandchildren; Whitney, Jake and Kali. His long time companion Marie Rumbolt and her son Adam. Brothers; Robert (Shirley) Westmount NS, Norman (Hilda) London ON, Stewart of Canso NS, Lloyd (Helen) Port aux Basques, only sister Joyce (Leo) Belloram NL, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and many, many friends. Russell was a fun loving man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved to hunt and fish, and always had a smile for everyone. Russell will be greatly missed by all those who we fortunate enough to have had him as a part of their lives. A special thank you to Marie who was there with dad until the very end, and to his brother Lloyd and sister in law Helen thank you for always being there for dad and us, we greatly appreciate all that you guys have done for us. To honor Russell's wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation took place on Sunday from 7-9 PM and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at East Haven Funeral Home, where a celebration of Russell's life took place on Monday evening, officiated by Rev. GREELEY, Donna
Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit at LeGrow Health Centre, Port aux Basques on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, Donna Greeley of Port aux Basques, formerly of Harbour Grace. Predeceased by her parents, Norman and Violet Greeley of Harbour Grace. Leaving to mourn daughter; Melissa (Dwayne LeRiche) and beloved granddaughter, Avery LeRiche; son Scott; their father Dan Clarke and members of the Clarke family; good friends: Viola Parsons and Cynthia Mills; many other good friends who have supported Donna on her 15 year journey with breast cancer; a large circle of relatives and friends throughout the province, including her former colleagues at St. James Elementary School, Port aux Basques. At Donna's request, cremation has taken place. Family visitation was on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. from Fillatre's Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Port aux Basques. Funeral services took place at St. James Anglican Church, Port aux Basques on Monday,Oct. 31, at 11 a.m., Rev. Louise Richards officiating. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. KETTLE, Jean
December 20, 1944 - October 29, 2011
It is with great sadness the family of the late Jean Kettle announce her passing at the Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques on Saturday, October 29th, 2011 at the age of 66 years. Leaving to mourn her husband Art; 4 children; 3 step-children; 23 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Mary (Tom) and Florence (Sonny); 5 sisters-in-law; special friends: Marilyn Pearce, Dorothy & Cecil Allen and Howard & Carol Farrell, as well as a large circle of friends at the Senior's Complex and Cottages. Jean was predeceased by her parents James and Naomi Spencer and brothers Jim and David. Friends visited Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port aux Basques on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday 9:30-11 a.m. The Funeral Service took place at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2nd, officiated by Capt. Paul Brake. Cremation took place at Humber Valley Crematorium in Pasadena, followed by interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery on Friday, November 4th at 11:00 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Nathan MacDonald announces his passing on Thursday October 27, at Legrow Health Center in Port aux Basques at the age of 85 years. Born at Fox Island NL, Nathan was the son of the late John and Lavella MacDonald. He was also predeceased by his wife Matilda in 2005, mother and father in law Carl and Annie Legge, sister Muriel (George) Moore, sister's in law; Geraldine Legge, Margaret Felix, Ethel Sheppard, Brother's in law; George Legge, Cornelius Felix, Isaac Legge, Victor Butcher, Darrell Osmond, Edward Legge. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his loving family; daughter Lavella (Harry) Durnford Port aux Basques, son John MacDonald Robinson's NL. Grandchildren; Matthew, Michelle (Gary), April (Scott). Great grandchildren; Cheyenne, Dylan, Nicholas, Anna, Avery. Sister's in law: Lavinia (Lionel) Brown Heatherton NL, Cavella Osmond (Fred Francis) Port aux Basques, Delia Butcher Heatherton NL. Brother in law Wayne (Suzanne) Legge Toronto ON. Born at Robinson's NL, Rose was the daughter of the late Leonard and Mary Hulan, she was also predeceased by her husband Isaac Payne, brother Clement Hulan, son-in-law Calvin Warren. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jane Purchase announces her passing on Friday October 25th 2010 at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center in Port aux Basques at the age of 79 years. Born in Port aux Basques Jane was the daughter of the late Hibbert and Annie Anderson. She was also predeceased by her husband Richard Purchase and brothers; Bert, Gordon, and Jack. Sisters; Violet, Theresa, Ida, Beatrice, Hannah, Rebecca, and Annie. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her loving family; son Gordon (Daphne) and their children Tracey and Glen. Glenda (Dave) Feltham, many other nieces and nephews, and a large circle of other family and friends including her friends at Mountain Hope Manor. Visitation took place on Tuesday from 7-9 PM and on Wednesday from 7-9 PM at East Haven Funeral Home. March 31, 1940 - October 14, 2011
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Julia Reid (nee Doucette) announces her passing on Friday October 14, 2011 At Legrow Health Center in Port aux Basques at the age of 71 years. Born at Tompkins, Julia was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Doucette, she was also predeceased by her brother Paul. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her family, devoted husband Karl of 47 years. Daughters Paula Reid (Paul) of Halifax NS. Karla (Curt) Pierre of Trinidad, only son Don (Jennifer) of Yellowknife NT. A loving grandmother to Devyn, Paul, Julia, and Joshua. She will also be fondly remembered by her brother Joe (Ann) Doucette of Tompkins. Sisters; Regina Farrell of Stephenville, Bernice (Joe) Bennett of Centerville NS, Patricia (Roger) Gale of Doyles, Mary (Cyril) Dwyer of Coburgh ON, Kay Doucette of Joplin Missouri USA, Angela (Edward) LeRiche of Orangeville ON, Ann Marie (Rob) Foley of Centerville NS, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and many, many friends. Visitation took place on Saturday and Sunday at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Upper Ferry. Funeral mass took place at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church on Monday October 17, 11 AM officiated by father Maurice O'Quinn. To honor Julia's wishes cremation has taken place. Interment will take place at Mount St. Thomas Roman Catholic Cemetery at a later date. TATLOCK, Matilda

Matilda Tatlock (nee Vey
) passed peacefully away at the Dr. Charles L. Legrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques on October 29 at the age of 90 years. She is predeceased by husbands Simeon Martin and Warren Tatlock, sisters Ella (Fred) Starkley of Oakland, Ont., Ethel (Reginald) Hicks of Lewisporte, NL., grandson Robert Crowley of Labrador City, NL., brother Daniel (Rhetta) Vey of Grates Cove, NL. She is survived by her daughters Ella (Grayson) Crowley of Riverview, N.B., Yvonne (Joseph) Roberts of Port aux Basques, NL., sister-in-law Rhetta Vey of Kelligrews, NL., and brothers-in-law Fred Starkey of Oakland, Ont. and William Taylor of St. John's, NL. She also leaves to mourn 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and special friend John Anderson and the many friends and loving and caring staff members at Mountain Hope Manor in Port aux Basques. Funeral arrangements were in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband Jacob; children, Lorraine (Rod), Nancy (Fabian), Thomas (Barbara), Audrey (Hubert), Kevin (Andrea), Gloria (Woodrow) and Trina (Justin); grandchildren, Jennifer, Justin, Adrian, Matthew, Thomas, Samantha, Kyle, Zachery, Jonathan, Andrew, Melissa, Rebecca, Dylan, Ethan and Hayden; sisters, Sarah (Joshua), Mary (John), Minnie (Garfield), Suzanna (Calvin), Myrtle (Hiram), Louise (Louis), Marilyn (Wallace) and Frances (Clifford); brothers, Norman (Mary), Gerald (Marie), Reginald (Lucy), Ben (Jody), Thomas (Nada) and Garfield as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her parents Mary Ann and Thomas Rose and granddaughter Emily Young. Friends visited St. John The Evangelist Church in Burgeo on Oct. 4th and 5th, from where the funeral service was held on Oct. 6 at 2 p.m. Reverend Mary Rose Colbourne officiated.
