The Gulf News
is a community newspaper for Port aux Basques and vicinity.
It is published weekly on Monday.

 

1992 CARTER, Alexander Aged 69 Passed away at the Western Menorial Regional Hospital on November 20,1992, Alexander Carter in his 69th year. He leaves to mourn wife Phoebe, four daughters Brenda Reid of Port Aux Basque, Jessie ( Don ) Stowe of Pasadena, Dianne (Hubert) Butt of St. John's, Wanda Carter of Port Aux Basques, Step daughter Louise Piercey of Vancouver, son-in-law Larry Reid of Gander; three granchildren Paula, Jennifer and Andrea and a special nephew Caleb Carter and his family of Port Aux Basques and a wide circle of relatives and friends. His remains rested at Ford's Funeral Home. Funeral service took place on Nov. 23, 1992 at St. James Anglican Church, officiated by Rev. Eveleigh. Interment followed at St. James Cemetery under the direction of Ford's Funeral Home. (Contributed by Dianne Butt & Brenda Reid)
