BATTCOCK, John Francis
(1934-2010)
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our wonderful
dad, poppy, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. John passed
away peacefully on Saturday, September 11th, 2010 at South Lake Hospital
in Newmarket, Ont. Predeceased by his wife Sheila (2002) his parents:
Jack and Margaret and brother Adrian. Left to cherish his memory are
his children: Jeanine (Jack), Johnny (Barbara), JoAnn (Dulach) and
Michele (Jeff); dear family member Diane (Leslie) Chaulk; grandchildren:
Tara, Rory, Liam, Danny, Ryan, Mark and Alley; sisters: Carmel (the
late Gerry) Buckingham, Sheilagh (Robert) McGrath, and a very special
partner Helen Bowering and her children: Karen, Julie and Mark. As
well as a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Wednesday
from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place
on Thursday, September 16th, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. from Mary Queen of Peace
Church. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully
accepted or a donation may be made in his memory to a charity of one's
choice.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Florence
Fudge announces
her passing at the Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre on Wednesday,
September 15, 2010 in her 69th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her
sister Hilda Wall; sister-in-law Martha Hann; nieces: Florence Wall (Ed Sosnowski),
Betty (John Szabados), as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband George Fudge and parents Hazel and Emanuel
Figay, Friends visited Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port aux Basques on Thrusday,
Friday and Saturday. The Funeral Service was held on Sunday, September 19th at
4:00 p.m. from St. James Anglican Church, officiated by Rev. Hannah Dicks. Interment

December 6, 1937 - September 15, 2010
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Anna
Mary Keeping announces her passing at her residence in Port aux Basques, NL on Wednesday,
September 15, 2010 at the age of 72 years. Anna was the daughter of
the late George and Mary Blackmore. She was predeceased by her husband
John Keeping; daughter Minnie Osmond and sister Lillian Lace. She leaves
to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons Henry (Sheila), Roland
(Roxanne) and Wayne, all of Port aux Basques; brothers: Richard (Edna),
Branard (Evelyn), Gerald (Margaret), James (Darlene), all of Port aux
Basques, George (Gloria) of Digby, NS; sisters Eileen (Fred - deceased)
Battiste and Hester (Frank - deceased) Pearce, both of Port aux Basques,
and Judy (Martin) Keeping of Digby, NS; grandchildren: Cyril, Jody
and Megan; great - grandchildren; Dakota and Kyle, and a large circle
of nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends. Friends visited Fillatre's
Funeral Home, Port aux Basques on Thursday and Friday. Funeral services
took place on Saturday, September 18 at 2:00 p.m. from St. James Anglican

KENDALL, Alfred Archibald
March 17, 1956 - September 11, 2010
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alfred
Archibald Kendall announces his passing on Saturday
September 11, 2010 at Legrow
Health Center at the age of 54 years. Born at Woodville, Alfred was
the son of the late Archibald and Gladys Kendall. He leaves to mourn
with fond and precious memories, loving wife Louise of 28 years marriage.
His sons: Kirk (Trina) Kendall Oromocto NB, Lucas (Serena) Kendall
Cold Lake Alta. Brothers: Harvey (Joan) Kendall Woodville, Allan Kendall
Woodville, niece Tanya (Ricky) O'Quinn Nova Scotia, and a large circle
of extended family and many friends. Visitation took place on Tuesday
September 14 at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Codroy. Funeral services
took place on Wednesday September 15, 11 AM at Holy Trinity Anglican
Church, officiated by Rev. Peter Boote. Interment followed at Holy

MacAULAY, Jean Seeley (Hollett)
Jean Seeley (Hollett) Mac Aulay (88) passed away peacefully at the
Victoria General Hospital palliative care unit on Friday,
September 17, 2010. Born in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter
of James William & Isabelle
(Foote) Hollett. Jean remained active to the last twice weekly with
Northwood Day Care and had been looking forward to the new season
for her dart league with the Young at Heart Seniors Club in Spryfield.
She was a member of the Spryfield Royal Canadian Legion having transferred
last year from North Sydney and, previously, Channel - Port aux Basques,
NF. A champion bowler, she was forced into retirement by arthritis
in her wrist. Predeceased by her husband Bob in 1980 and eight of
her siblings, she leaves to mourn her sister, Gladys (Mrs. Boyd MacLean)
of Glace Bay, her son, James Robert MacAulay, granddaughters Tanya
Christine Radkey, Cheryl Yaulene Mac Aulay, Meghan Danielle Mac Aulay,
Caitlin Chelsea Anne Mac Aulay, grandson, James Jonathan MacAulay,
and great grandson, Connor Robert Neal Radkey, all currently residing
in Halifax and many nieces and nephews. At her request, there will
be no visitation or flowers. A committal service will be held in
Greenwood Cemetery in Glace Bay at 2:00pm on Wednesday, September
22, 2010 where she will be buried beside her husband. In lieu of
flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the
Canadian Heart Foundation, the Canadian Diabetes Society and/or the
Canadian Kidney Foundation. Jean will be fondly remembered by family
and friends in Cape Breton which she always considered home and southwestern
Newfoundland where she lived for 25 years as well as those she came
to know during her last two years in Halifax.
MARSDEN, James Stephen
Jan 2, 1919 - Sept 6, 2010
It is with great sadness that the family of the late James
Stephen Marsden Sr.
announces his peaceful passing on Sept 6, 2010 at Calder Health Center, Burgeo
at the age of 91. Born at Francois, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth
Marsden. He was predeceased by two daughters, Annie Maude and Doreen Clara, brothers
Jacob and Stewart and sister Hilda. Left with many cherished memories, his loving
and devoted wife of 70 years, Irene, his children, Shirley (Garland), Douglas
(Annie), Norma (Jim), Melvin (Brenda), John (Pat), Jim (Grace), Rex (Daphane)
all of Burgeo. Russell (Diane) Plum Point, Marilyn (Brian) Brooks, AB, Marlene
(John) Margaree and Wanda (Victor) Ottawa, ON, 16 grandchildren, 21 great- grandchildren,
sister Maria Beatrice Durnford (Burgeo), sister-in-law Gladys Marsden (Francois)
and a large circle of nieces , nephews and many close friends. Visitation took
place on Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9, and Wednesday 10-12 at St. John Evangelist Church,
Burgeo, Funeral service took place on Wednesday Sept 8, 2 p.m. at St. John Evangelist
Church, Burgeo. Officiated by Rev. George Childs. Interment followed at the community
cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Fillatres Funeral Homes.
NEIL, Eric W. C.
(July 16, 1932 - September 21, 2010)
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eric Neil announces
his passing on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at the age of 78
years. Born at Grand Bruit, Eric was the son of the Late Hubert and Gladys Neil.
He was also predeceased by sisters: Vera Lawrence, Margaret Frampton, Leah Harvey
and Loretta Billard, and Brother Earl Neil. Left with many cherished memories,
his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Lilia. He is survived by daughters:

Margaret (Richard) White of Fall River, N.S., Erica (Brett) Walker of Beansville,

aux Morts. Grandchildren: Felicia, Alfred, Quentin, Amelia, Blair W, Roderick,
Blair T, Jessica, Eric, John, Tamara, Kendra, Geneva, Kirkland. Great-grandchildren:
Bethany, Brenden, Andrew, Lauren, Kadience. He also leaves to mourn Brother Austin
(Eileen) of Lawrencetown, N.S. Sister Corella Strickland of North Sydney, N.S

James Peddle announce his sudden passing on Saturday,
September 11th, 2010 at the
LeGrow Health Centre in Port Aux Basques at the age of 72 years. Leaving
to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 50 years Nina Peddle;
son Kevin Peddle, Greenwood, NS; daughter Paulette MacIsaac (Leon),
Paradise; grandchildren: Jessica, Robert, Nicholas and Kara; brother
William Peddle (Violet), Whitebourne; sister Annie Leyte, Lewisporte,
as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was
predeceased by his parents Robert and Mary Hannah Peddle of Whitebourne;
brothers: Melon and Dola Peddle; sisters: Floss and Margaret. Visitation
took place at Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port Aux Basques on Monday,
September 13th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service was held
on Tuesday, September 14th at 3:00 p.m. from St. James Anglican Church.
Interment followed at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill,
