Of Beaver Bank, passed away August 28, 2020 at the age of 77 in Dartmouth General Hospital with his wife and brother at his side. Born in Deer Lake, N.L., a son of Raymond and Bertha Hoskins. He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Pottle) and brother, Ray Hoskins (Barbara Stoll); nephews, Jordan Stoll-Hoskins and Shawn Porter.

Byron's career in electronics spanned four decades but his interests were varied. It began with the Air Force Cadets in Newfoundland to being a Glider Pilot/Instructor in Nova Scotia. He trained members of the Junior Achievers in the ways of successful business ventures and he excelled to Vice President of the Bedford Board of Trade. He was a graduate of the Dale Carnegie School of public speaking and continued with the school as an instructor. His life in Cottage Country saw him from owner to vested member of the Cottage Owners Association and in later years a leadership role in the Beaver Bank Kinsac Seniors Association. In keeping with Byron's requests no further arrangements are pending. As per his wishes his remains were donated to Dalhousie Department of Medical Science. We wish to acknowledge the exceptional care he received from 3 West at Dartmouth General and special thanks to Dr. Westgeest and the ever attentive nursing staff.

ISENOR, Helen Mary "Doll"
The Chronicle Herald, Halifax, September 5, 2020

We are saddened by the passing of Helen "Doll" Mary Isenor (Sullivan) at 85 years of age, on Monday August 31, 2020, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Helen was born in Mall Bay, N.L. on December 26, 1934. She was the beloved wife of Ross David Isenor of Dartmouth, and daughter of Peter and Theodora Sullivan of Newfoundland. She was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Leo Sullivan; her sister, Joan Walsh (Christopher); foster brother, Gerald Cormier, and daughter-in-law, Dawn Isenor (Coles). She will be deeply missed by her husband, Ross; her children, Glenn, Deborah, and Gail Isenor (Marcus Goodick); her cherished grandchildren, Alex, Lauren, and Leah Isenor; her sisters, Violet Greene (Ron), and Mary Flemming (Arthur), and her many nieces and nephews.

Helen was a dedicated wife and mother for 64 years. She valued her family and held dear her close friends and good neighbours. She was loved by all for her generous spirit. She lived life to the fullest. Along with Ross, she hosted many large holiday gatherings and summertime barbeques at home or at their cottage on Lake Charlotte; and they took many RV "Camper" trips together to Cape Breton and Newfoundland to visit relatives and friends. Helen graduated from the 2nd class of the CNA training program at Camp Hill Hospital and enjoyed a long career at Dartmouth Medical Centre. Since her retirement Helen stayed in touch with friends and colleagues she met at work, and she looked forward with anticipation to their regular lunches. She was a dedicated Catholic and was a member of the CWL. She drew her strength from tradition and her faith, and inspired others through her spirit and tenacity in overcoming life's challenges. In spite of those challenges her family always came first. Her counsel and wit (she loved a good joke) will be missed.

During her retirement years, Helen enjoyed knitting mittens and doing word searches. She loved a good feed of lobsters, westerns, and regular episodes of "Jessica" (Murder She Wrote) and Murdoch Mysteries. She enjoyed sitting with a good cup of tea near her window, watching the birds at the feeder, and feeling the sun on her face. Helen taught us many lessons, but the most important lesson was to be happy with the simple pleasures in life. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of Dartmouth General Hospital for their exemplary care.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Dartmouth General Hospital Foundation, QEII Health Sciences Centre Foundation, or Heart and Stroke Foundation. Cremation will be held followed by a private mass at Christ the King Catholic Church with interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens in Westphal. MARSHALL, Randolph Graham
The Chronicle Herald, Halifax, September 12, 2020

We are saddened to announce the peaceful departure of Randolph Graham Marshall, our remarkable husband, father, and brother, on August 19, 2020. Randy was born in St. John's, N.L., on February 8, 1956 to Lilian (Greening) and Reginald Marshall. His lifelong career as a pilot, starting at Labrador Airways and Air Nova, gave him the opportunity to add many chapters to his life from all over the world. Randy's fascination with aviation began at an early age. By the age of 18, he was a flight attendant with Eastern Provincial Airlines (EPA). His ambition to become a pilot led him to the St. John's flying school, where he earned his pilot's license. Having achieved the required flight hours and training multiple pupils as an instructor, including his brother Derek, Randy worked as a pilot with Labrador Airways and Air Nova, where he met his wife Anne (Mattatall). Randy then moved to Paris, France, where he flew for TAT, before moving back to Canada and working for Royal Airlines.

Randy and Anne made their home in Fall River, where they had their two children, Christopher and Emma. Soon after, Randy's wanderlust led to him accepting a position as a captain with China Airlines, moving the family to Taiwan in 1999. Randy loved exploring Southeast Asia alongside his family and shared those experiences with his many visitors. He was the host with the most. In 2007, he accepted a position as a captain with Etihad Airways, bringing the family to Abu Dhabi. In 2019, after a 45-year flying career spanning the globe, Randy retired and moved back into the house that he and Anne built in Fall River. Despite living abroad, Randy found it important to make yearly trips back home to visit family both in Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. Randy's life was filled with a wide variety of cultures and cuisines, with a particular affinity for wood-fired pizzas. Randy loved to cook for his family, especially his famous slow-simmered chili or brick oven pizza. He always sought out the most authentic dishes on his travels, from a tagine in Morocco to satay in Indonesia. Randy is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Anne (Mattatall) (YHZ); son, Christopher (YHZ); daughter, Emma (Jason Torrico) (ORF); and brother, Derek (YYT).
Captain Marshall, you're cleared for departure. We miss you, you are forever loved.

PITCHER, Lindsay Garfield
The Chronicle Herald, Halifax, August 22, 2020

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Lindsay Garfield Pitcher, age 86, on August 20, 2020. Lindsay was born on September 28, 1933 in Old Bonaventure, Trinity Bay, N.L.. Son of the late Ralph and Edith (Hodder) Pitcher, he was predeceased by sons, Brian, Gary, and David; and brothers, Weston and Edgar. Lindsay is survived by Ellen, his wife of 61 years; son, Robert (Jackie); sister, Annie King; grandsons, Christopher and Alexander Pitcher; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Lindsay was the first member of his village to go to college. He attended Memorial University in 1950/51 and taught school in several Newfoundland villages for two years before striking out for Toronto in 1952, where he worked for CP Rail and a number of other companies. He met his loving and caring wife Ellen (Rasmussen) in 1957, and a year and a half later they were married and starting a family. In 1968, Lindsay accepted a position as the Maritimes' sales representative for Federal Bolt and Nut, DOCAP Corporation and Automotive Hardware. The young family moved several times before settling in Cole Harbour and later St. Margaret's Bay, and after 27 years of loyal service, he retired in 1991.

Lindsay was a dedicated member of United Commercial Travelers (UCT) since 1972, serving on local counsel and becoming Supreme Chaplain in 1991-92 during the tenure of Supreme Councillor, the late Peter Sworin. Lindsay loved fishing and hunting and spent many a day in his little Cape Islander fishing boat on St. Margaret's Bay in the fog. One of his fondest memories was a helicopter trip with his nephew, Kevin King, to fish for salmon in Labrador. Lindsay and Ellen traveled extensively through the USA, Caribbean, Europe, and Canada, including two road trips to Alaska and many winters in Florida. While his favourite vacation spot was Barbados, where he and Ellen made their annual trips, his most memorable trip was to Australia and New Zealand with his brother Edgar and his wife Daphne. During their travels they met many wonderful people with whom they kept in touch and remain great friends to this day. We are forever grateful for the kindness and compassion we received from the QEII Palliative Care staff, the VON, the personal care workers at ParaMed, and many friends and family who made a tremendous difference during his final days. Cremation will take place shortly and there will be a "by invitation only" COVID-19 compliant church service in St. Peter's Anglican Church, Birch Cove, on August 25th Online condolences available at: www.rawalker.ca
